587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar m tn ) 7 Chemicals, Men who live in a city or suburb can be at risk from estrogens and other chemicals that have leeched into the water supply. This happens due to industrial waste, or when medications and substances like birth control end up in the water supply. Chemicals are also found in the foods we eat and products we use everyday including soaps, shampoos and face creams. Chemicals add color, improve texture, make things smell better, or last longer.
266539 tn?1281402152 t know brands but I took it while I was breastfeeding because estrogen can affect milk supply. It has a slightly higher failure rate than the estrogen/progesterone pill, but is still highly effective if taken at the same time every day. Condoms are another option.
10515800 tn?1419227034 Estrogen based birth control is what dries most women up. There are several estrogen free options including the "mini pill" (progesterone only rather than combination), depo provera shot, and one or two iuds.
Avatar n tn Apparently the coating of receipts has estrogen and we get them in our blood stream also from plastics and food supply. Is your Doctor worried? I have all kinds of tests all the time that come out weird. I let my doctor worry about them. It is strange they were even checking your FSH.
1194973 tn?1385503904 Actually estrogen can cause problems with milk supply. That's why they don't give the birth control pills with estrogen...just the progresterone only pills when breastfeeding. I would definately call and ask your doctor more about this before you take it. I know certain forms of estrogen cause problems with milk supply, I'm not sure if all do.
Avatar f tn While breastfeeding my doctor gave me the pills either with low estrogen or no estrogen I can't remember and I was fine..
Avatar f tn it sounds to me as well that you are going into perimenopause...unfortunately when they took your uterus they had to cut blood supplies so women who have undergone this surgery tend to go into menopause approximately 5 years sooner then they would have because of loss of blood supply to the ovaries. If you had endometriosis...
Avatar f tn Nuva ring isn't recommend because it can stop your milk supply. Only progesterone contraception is safe nothing with estrogen.
136689 tn?1419580447 Hey ladies just wondering if there is anyway to increase milk supply besides pumping, I'm not feeling that full feeling anymore and blayde seems to have to suck a bit more than usual to stimulate me to let down, and i usually can get 150mls out of both breast after feeding but today could only get 50mls.

640719 tn?1277140030 My DO (natural path) ran Estrogen labs on me and my labs came back of a 70 year old woman. I am 51. I asked my Endo Dr. Al-Kassab if he does Bio Identical Hormones and he does not and did not offer any other solutions. I just thought this was a bit strange because when my husband was dx'ed with Hasti's this past fall he was quick to check his testosterone levels and get them corrected. Don't Endo regulate ALL Endocrine Hormones?
Avatar f tn You're describing something that sounds like "Gynecomastia." You might have excessive estrogen levels. It doesn't necessarily mean low testosterone, as testosterone can "aromatize" into estrogen. The first thing you should do is avoid junk food, especially the fried variety. The oil that it's cooked in is a mess, probably estrogenic.
7656727 tn?1404157447 So I finally got a pump today to get all my milk out and now it looks like I wont be making as much milk. Is there anything I can take to increase my milk supply?? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Mothers who have breast feed before, do you get a lot of milk supply to freeze or is it hard to get any extra?
Avatar f tn Just watch how your milk supply react with them.
Avatar f tn If you are breastfeeding then you should do the progestin only pill as the pill with the combo of estrogen and progestin has been shown to affect milk supply. It's called the mini pill. It's slightly less effective so you have to make sure that you don't miss any doses, as it will increase your chances of another pregnancy. They also have a progestin implant that is quite effective as well, and then you don't have to worry about if you miss a pill.
Avatar n tn I have a guy friend who accidently consumed a one month supply of contraceptive pills when he was 5 years old. He is now 20 something years old. My question is will this cause any effect to his sexual life? Will he be able to have children?
Avatar f tn They say take a weekend and just snuggle with baby, rest, drink water and feed baby or pump as often as possible and the supply should increase. I do know that when you start supplementing with formula your supply goes down anyways. But if formula ends up being the result that's just fine too, as long as baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn Water intake helps with hydration and fluid around the baby, so you need to up your intake. Your body is also increasing blood supply and needs the extra water. Try adding orange slices or lemons if it gets boring.
Avatar f tn Hello recd my blood work and was told I had an estradiol level 16 ..... (apparently is considered SUB-normal) my fsh was 5.9 and lh 5.. those #s I am ok with.. it's that estradiol # I find confusing and don't know what exactly it means.. does mean egg supply not good or eggs not getting enough nourishment and therefore they can't be fertilized.. any thoughts?
