I have been on estrogen replacement since my surgery in 1998. I still have moderate-severe hot flashes and they seem to be getting more intense with age.
I switched from oral Premarin which covered me pretty well but I didn't want to be taking pills the rest of my life. Since then I have tried a variety of patches that are really not very effective on a regular basis and very expensive. At my age, what do you recommend. Is Premarin dangerous (risk of DVT).

If you're interested in becoming pregnant, my advice would be to start keeping track of your ovulation and menstrual cycles now. Also consult your Ob/Gyn if you have any concerns. The healthier and better shape you're in will definitely influence any possible pregnancy and transition into menopause...
-) Estrace is actually an estrogen supplement, not progesterone. I was also on estrogen after transfer, but it was a patch I had to change every two-three days.
ONe more thing....3 days after transfer my blood work showed that I needed more progesterone and estrogen..so I upped the progesterone and I have an estrogen patch on...I'm guessing that this would have still been about a day before implantation but I'm still worried!
I have a uterus in tact I was prescribed combined hrt progesterone and estrogen estarlis patches. Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic.
Is anyone receiving the same advice?
I would try a period of time taking nothing, then a period of time taking just estrogen, and then a period of time with progesterone not estrogen. I think that standard HRT mimics the body's usual estrogen and progesterone (something like a small estrogen dose most of the month and a progesterone dose for 12 days) but every doc will have a different take.
but according to my RE, estrogen levels are not as important in the 2WW as progesterone. He even said that some studies have shown that estrogen supplementation really doesn't make much of a difference in IVF cycles, while progesterone of course is crucial. He still prescribes estrogen, though, just as a precaution.

I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving.

Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Certain factors about the tumor may help to direct aspects of therapy, such as whether the tumor is HER2 positive or Estrogen and Progesterone receptor positivity, but these do not dictate the exact treatment regimen. An MRI may or may not clarify the appearance of the liver lesion (it may increase or decrease suspicion) but it will not be absolute. The only way to know for certain is to biopsy and this may or may not be advised depending on your situation.
Hi, i would like to ask you if somebody had low progesterone and estrogen dominance but get worse after progesterone intake? I am not in menopause yet but have hot flashes and severe acid reflux. I think one of the reason is hormonal imbalace. After saliva test i was told i have low adrelas and cortisol, DHNA and progesteron level in comparison to estrogen. I was taking natural progesteron for 1 month but only 50 mg bc i was too drowsy with full pull.
I was on a brand name HRT sequential regime for years consisting of 2 weeks of estrogen and 2 wks Of progesterone added. Them my doc wanted me to try a generic estrogen which I would Lake for three months and then add or take progesterone for a few days. When I did this and got to the progesterone part, after two days I felt weak, couldn’t think straight, had trouble walking, had vision problems.
I am 10 days post IVF transfer using donor eggs. 2 days after transfer my estrogen was over 1000. 1 week after it was below 600 and 9 days after it was below 400. I am really stressing. My progesterone has gone up each time. I am taking 2 mg Estradiol 3 times per day and am now on the patches changing them every day. Any ideas? Does this mean I am not pregnant?

1 - If I go through a period of stress, my body will produce more Cortisol than normal. Too much Cortisol leads to the depletion of Progesterone. Progesterone is needed to oppose oestrogen in men. If this goes on for long enough a man (yes, and a woman) can become oestrogen Dominant (too much oestrogen relative to Testosterone). By lowering stress and thus.. reducing cortisol, my progesterone levels should return to normal levels.
Since I have no ovaries I have had to have projesterone tablets and estrogen tablets. After really good ultrasounds (good growth and strong heartbeat) last saturday, they have decided I can wean off the hormones. So from saturday I have been on half the dose. This morning I have woken up with spotting. It is pink not bright red but I am worried.

m on bioidentical HRT, 2-3 pumps Estrogel and 100mg Progesterone for 12 days in the cycle. My last blood levels in January 2013 were estrogen 29 pg/ml, progesterone 1.1 nmol/l. My most annoying symptoms are anxiety, depressive moods,insomnia, low libido, cold chills. My Gyno said that I have probably an estrogen dominancy and I should increase progesterone on 200 mg. You need balanced amounts of both estridol and progesterone to concieve. If you have to low or high estridol it effects the growth of the egg and release. If you have to low progesterone you have a high chance of miscarriage as it helps the uterine linning for the baby to be able to attach and stick.
