Avatar f tn To induce my period, however, I have been taking large doses of Vitamin C (3,000mg-4,000mg) for the past week (to help increase estrogen levels). Could this excess estrogen be causing some of the pain, or could it be the stress, because I've read that estrogen dominance can lead to abdominal bloating, excess white discharge, and breast changes as well. I have never had bad PMS symptoms before this.
Avatar n tn s the vitreous pulling on it that tears the retina away. The vitreous humour, by the way, contains the second highest concentration of vitamin C in the body. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant as well as being necessary for the formation of collagen. I don't know whether upping your vitamin C intake would help. Judily.
Avatar n tn is there a natural vitamin that can be taken to help with change of life symptoms after a hysterectomy?
566073 tn?1219434819 My impulse is to say - take estrogen. At your age, you are just replacing what your body would naturally give you if you had not had your surgery. You can ask your doctor about testing the tumor for estrogen and progesterone receptors. Theorectically, if your tumor has estrogen receptors, if there are any other tumor cells left, they might be stimulated to grow. But mucinous tumors in general are not stimulated by estrogen. A stage Ia cancer should be cured by a radical hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn hmmmm..... I've had a lot of nerve pain after a c-section. I read that a c-section can throw off hormone levels. Maybe there is a connection between female hormone levels and neuropathy.
Avatar n tn Vic is known to block estrogen so I will be working closely with my Naturopathic physician and my medical doctor ok.d this. Don.t know anything about the other but I do take vitamin c.
Avatar f tn I did a hormonal imbalance test and it turns out my estrogen level is at 203. The doctor told me to eat healthy, no carbs and no sugar. They also say irregular period is due to stress. I did my research stress leads to high estrogen. So I am guessing that is what causing it to be high. But I also read eating foods with lots of vitamins (ex. Selenium. Melatonin, vitamin b, magnesium, etc.) helps reduce it. But all this time I've been on a diet and I have been eating all of that.
Avatar n tn However, I did read that there is a higher risk for thyroid issues which might be hidden, accelerated or misdiagnosed as an estrogen or vitamin d deficiency. I know Vitamin D does interact with the thyroid but I'm unsure of the interaction with Estrogen. If you are worried about one of these possible deficiencies definitely make sure to have the doctors test for thyroid disorders too.
5143317 tn?1383747820 I now take progesterone caps at night (which helps me sleep) and cream during the day. My vitamin D and C levels were bottomed out and cortisol was screaming high. Just my experience only and something to maybe help you. Women to women website is a great help.
Avatar f tn For iron supplement, I am taking the Ferrous Fumarate made by GNC, what do you think? I am taking vitamin B6,B12 and C,too.
Avatar n tn Some laser treatments are being considered but they are still in the trial phase and none of them can be considered as a definite part of the treatment of the disease. Vitamin C may also help in some cases. Best..
Avatar f tn Causes of estrogen dominance include birth control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, stress, poor diet, obesity, xenoestrogens (excess estrogens found in anything from pesticides to plastics). Estrogen dominance can affect conversion of T4 to T3 as well as increase thyroxine binding globulin (if there is too much thyroid binding globulin, thyroid hormone is bound and unable to get into the cells).
Avatar n tn Is it ok to take vitamin c gummies to help boost my immune system.
Avatar f tn You need to weigh out the risk you have and decide if estrogen replacement is right for you. Estrogen is bad for breast tissue, but good for bone density. You might ask about a DEXA scan to measure a baseline bone density. You might also check vitamin D levels to make sure you are not deficient. Find out how much calcium/vitamin D3 you need to maintain bone density no matter what, but especially if you opt to not use hormones.
Avatar f tn I have been on tamoxifen. I was dx in 6/06 .. finished chemo 11/06 .. CA125 began rising in January 07 and crept up 8 to 10 pts a month until July 07 when my MD put me on tamoxifen. My counts returned to acceptable level by 12/31/07, but have been rising again. Up to now, there has not been any disease seen on any scan so the tamoxifen was a good med to try and it worked for me for a good 6 months.
