Avatar m tn re already dealing with thryoid issues, as the estrogen levels are still affected by the thryoid and vice versa, whether male or female. It is estrogen in particular that soy affects in a huge way. Dr. Mercola explains more thoroughly and better than I can even begin to repeat why the traditionally fermented soy products are the only soy products that are even safe to consume.
Avatar n tn estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use. I am very sensitive to any medication and was on the lowest possibly dose of progestrone that time. The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy.
Avatar m tn The researchers surmise that estrogen may have a protective benefit for younger women with HCV. They recommend the use of estrogen replacement therapy for menopausal women. Another interesting discovery appeared in this study. In general, viral loads dropped with age except in the group of post-menopausal women. There was no explanation for this. The second study examined similar issues.
Avatar f tn There is no purpose for the male nipple. They have them because they have estrogen as well as testosterone in their body. Nipples are actually the result of the female hormone in there body. Which is normal. Of course.
Avatar m tn Ovariectomy and estrogen supplementation were used to evaluate the effect of estrogen on HBV titers in transgenic mice with replicating HBV in hepatocytes. The effect of estrogen signaling on transcription of HBV genes, and the mechanisms of regulation, were studied in HepG2 cells. RESULTS: HBV titers increased in female mice after ovariectomy and decreased in male mice supplemented with estrogen. Hepatic expression of estrogen receptor (ER)? was increased by estrogen exposure.
Avatar f tn I have a 21 yr male who has low testosterone levels and high estrogen levels. He has gynecomastitis, overweight, depressed, and insomnia. Any advice on treatment option!
Avatar m tn Hi, Your story is atypical of obese boys going through pubertal development, initial testosterone gets converted to estrogen in the fat tissues and as the testosterone level picks up normal manly features develop. So, as such I do not think you have any reason to worry. Try to reduce your fat, take balanced food and do moderate exercise and over a few years, the gynecomastia should get subsided of its own.
Avatar m tn t have any commercially available tests for hpv and males is correct. There is some testing out there and it varies in its usefulness but it's hard to find. also most males aren't thrilled to have their genital areas rubbed with a mild sand paper for testing.
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar n tn You must have swings of hormones due to the surgery - it just not possible to NOT have that. Only estrogen in the form you have it - can sometimes cause more issues. You may want to look at a hormone journal I wrote on my profile if you are interested in that. Is there a possibility of you going to a doctor that has correct knowledge in reading your female hormone panel of testosterone - progesterone and estorgen/estradiol?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar m tn So that would leave 2,121 white men who contracted the virus through other means that M2M contact in 2009. Assuming that at least some of those remaining males contracted the disease via IV drug use....could it be accurately assumed that less than 1500 white men a year are contracting the virus through heterosexual contact? Can that even be close to right? Seems way to low with all the high risk behavior white males are involved in nationwide? I have no clue...
Avatar n tn Testosterone is very important for females as well as males. Testosterone also converts into estrogen. All three primacy sex hormones all interact with one another and having them in the proper balance at the proper time is very important and complex. Do you have any menstrual cycle irregularities? Can you also tell us your diet and the level of exercise you do? Are you an "extreme" athlete of any sort?
Avatar f tn Sometimes women need to have the size of the pessary adjusted after long term use (typically to a smaller pessary) but that is after a few years of use. Biggest concern is irritation causing ulcers but this does not occur in all women. If you are on estrogen replacement therapy, it will help the internal and external tissues maintain strong, pliable integrity. If you have difficulty with vaginal irritation you should ask your physician about vaginal estrogen therapy.
Avatar f tn Breast cancer in males is uncommon, especially in the young, but it can occur. A lump under the nipple of a young boy is most likely gynecomastia, which is common in boys around the age of puberty and is usually temporary.
973741 tn?1342342773 When I did IVF, they put me on big doses of estrogen and progesterone. After my son was born, I kept on hormones because I was going to do IVF again. No other child was forthcoming (after many other IVF rounds), and after what was apparently the last try, I stayed on a light dose of estrogen with progesterone half the month.
8319766 tn?1417382036 I was looking for a natural way to boost my estrogen levels because I really don't want to get on BC again and I came across a natural vitman called chasteberry. From what I read it has been used for centuries to help regulate periods and boost estrogen levels. They give it to woman who are going through menopause to help regulate their hormones.
20922415 tn?1661860103 Progesterone is one of the sexual hormones in the female bodies maintains and regulates sexual well-being. In males, it is produced in a small amount for sperm development. 5274485 tn?1385860167 Anytime a girl represents signs of Autism, her symptoms will be different than males. Girls with Autism tend to not show the reckless behavior which is observed in males. Autism affects girls different than males. The actual number of girls/women with Autism is not as often reported because the signs are often missed in female population.
Avatar f tn The possibility is especially slim in females, as many more males have BAV than females. Probably about 2% of people in the general population have BAV, and probably about half of that 2% will never have any symptoms and may never even know about it. Of the remaining 1% of the population that has a BAV and is at least somewhat symptomatic, the majority are males.
Avatar m tn It sounds to me that you have a ball of estrogen which is a hormone which to much of it can result in boobs or a ball under your usually your left nipple, don't try to squeeze it out you'll just produce more of it.
Avatar f tn If I had an ER+ tumor I would never use any Estrogen product. There are other products (not OTC) that I know many women have found quite helpful ... you might ask the Oncologist or at least the nurses in that office. I'm sure they would be more familiar with specific products. I will send you a private message with an additional comment. Regards ....
Avatar f tn During chronic hepatitis C (CHC), liver fibrosis progression is faster in males than in females. Among all the factors involved in such difference, estrogenes may be a major one since experimental data recently supported that estrogenes may have direct antifibrosing effect.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms may be due, at least in part, from not having enough estrogen. Women also lose about 50% of their testosterone when their ovaries are removed. Unfortunately, doctors fail to divulge this important information before surgery! 1mg of estrogen taken orally is a fairly low dose for a woman without ovaries. And some women do not absorb oral estrogen very well. Has your doctor ever checked your blood level of estrogen or estradiol?
