Estrogen toxicity

Common Questions and Answers about Estrogen toxicity

Avatar f tn Estrogen reportedly increases your need for B6, which seems counterintuitive, since I had more B6 toxicity with higher levels of estrogen. Perhaps estrogen causes B6 to store more readily in the muscle? I have no idea, but there IS an effect, somehow. Also, during my B6 toxicity recovery, things were always much worse before my period. Again, that makes very little sense to me, since that is supposedly a low estrogen time.
Avatar f tn At 55 if you feel you sweat less, need to detoxify the body, then this could be due to menopausal syndrome. Please get a complete hormone panel ESH, LH, estrogen, progesterone and see if there is an imbalance. Hormone replacement therapy will help. With metal toxicity, certain chelating agents are given which bind with the metal and remove them from the body. Normal detox diet will not take care of that. It basically increases the antioxidants in the body. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Regarding your sudden episodes of loss of energy (it sounds like sudden episodes of falling asleep basically), this is unlikely to be related to estrogen or vitamin D. Dilantin toxicity could potentially cause sleepiness, but it wouldn't be episodic, it would more likely be more constant, or at least related to your dilantin dose.
Avatar f tn Does anyone connect hot flashes with Vit. B6 toxicity. I'm a 70 year old woman, just told my B6 is high. Going off all B vitamins. One of my problems is terrible hot flashes. I'm on an estrogen patch, but it is not helping. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of the selective aromatase inhibitor anastrozole (Arimidex), we conducted a phase II trial in 53 women with asymptomatic recurrent/persistent müllerian cancer. METHODS: Patients with ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube carcinoma were eligible for enrollment. Eligible patients had an ECOG PS 90 days, 15% for >180 days, 7% for >270 days, and 4% for >360 days. One patient remained on anastrozole at 15 months.
Avatar f tn I am extremely thankful the pathology came back negative on the ovaries...but I was thinking I was over this and just needed to get used to the estrogen/progesterone replacement...now I have to stop the estrogen and deal with this uterine stuff. Probably should have just had the hysterectomy. So any feedback on what to expect from Megace would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn Over the past year, the pharmacy substituted the generic for brand, which I was unaware of. I also discontinued estrogen replacement therapy during this time. when I had my TSH, T-3 and T-4 done, my levels were indicative of hyperthyroidism. My TSH was 0.04. I was extremely symptomatic with hot flashes, mood swings, insomnia etc, but dismissed it to stopping the estrogen. My ALT/AST liver enzymes are also minimally elevated. Has anyone else experienced this?
Avatar f tn Causes of estrogen dominance include birth control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, stress, poor diet, obesity, xenoestrogens (excess estrogens found in anything from pesticides to plastics). Estrogen dominance can affect conversion of T4 to T3 as well as increase thyroxine binding globulin (if there is too much thyroid binding globulin, thyroid hormone is bound and unable to get into the cells).
Avatar f tn No signs of infection or any abnormality with white blood cells....how is her platelet count?
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar m tn Probiotics are important in detoxification, especially for removing dangerous products of estrogen metabolism. If it stays in your system and recirculate, these estrogen toxins can generate a number of cancers in both males and females. High fiber diets are important because the fiber will absorb a number of toxins, allowing them to be eliminated. A nutrient that improves gut detox is called N-butyrate, it's a short chain fatty acid.
Avatar f tn I have had really bad issues with walking, now requiring a can, for about a year. Diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis. It's gotten so bad that I started doing research. I have been doing 5-day energy shots daily for 6 months now - about 40mg of B6 per day (was doing emergen-c's before that). I'm thinking my walking, tingling may indeed be B6 toxicity and am going for a blood test this afternoon. I've gotten a lot of good information from this group - thank you.
Avatar m tn I am having all of the symptoms related to B6 toxicity. I do not take vitamin supplements and have a healthy diet. What can cause me to have such a high b6 level if I am not taking supplements? My doctor asked me to give him a month to figure it out but I am in pain and want some answers.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with B6 toxicity. My doctor said that exercise would be good because it would speed metabolism. However, I'm concerned about doing what is best to heal my nerves. Since walking makes my feel hurt, throb, and twitch, I'm guessing that walking would actually hurt the healing process, not help. What has everyone else's experience been with healing from B6 toxicity and exercise? Do you think exercise helps or hinders the healing process?
408795 tn?1324935675 As I mentioned in a prior posts I am an ex-IV user and I have a question about toxicity. At the end of my using days I had a wake up call, it was in September 2003, I was using alot of illegal drugs. I had been taking loads of valium unprescribed and I did a dime, yes a dime bag of H. I don't like putting this out there but it's really the only way I can get to my question.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that my antimony level, more that twice and a half the normal range, could be causing me toxicity symptoms?
