Common Questions and Answers about Estrogen normal range

Avatar f tn ve been on a diet and I have been eating all of that. Does not explain why it is still high. What is a normal estrogen level. And what can I do to lower it? I have been eating less carbs, no sugar. And taking multivitamins, vitamin d. And foods that contain all of the vitamins and minerals listed above.
Avatar n tn what are the normal range levels for t4 test and tsh ? also can premin make a false reading ?
Avatar n tn My lab reference range for FreeT4 is [.59 - 1.61] so I'm told I'm within range but I heard the ranges can shift lab to lab...which doesn't makes sense to me. I had hormone tests done where my estradiol was in range but my progesterone was low 60 pg/ml with range of [100-600] suggesting estrogen dominence.
Avatar f tn His B12 is higher than needed. If supplementing, he can cut back. Vitamin D should be at least 50, so he is close to that. The main issue I see is low ferritin. I know it is within the so-called 'normal" range, but that range is calculated from the database of test results from a lab. It is not an adjudicated range based on science and expert opinion. It is just a lab range. that does not indicate adequacy, or optimal levels. Ferritin should be at least 100.
Avatar n tn Hi! I have low estrogen and normal FSH (I'm 38, though). My course of action is to wear an estrogen patch from 3 days after ovulation to 12 days after ovulation (since that's when mine is dropping off). I have heard of (and tried it once, but didn't like how I felt) that the patch can also be worn during CD8-12 to help with low estrogen. My acupuncturist told me that the patch is the most similar to actual estrogen (versus pills) so I pushed for that!
1327431 tn?1327072104 There is no normal range with thyroid, every person has an optimal range where the have no symptoms, the problem today with thyroid is that many mds still use an old reference range for TSH as an example, some go by .05 to 5.5, some 0.4 to 4.5 and the better one use .03 to 3.
Avatar f tn 1 Synthroid, with annual thyroid blood tests. When my TSH levels drop or rise above the normal range, the doctor adjusts my Synthroid dosage. I also have uncomfortable symptoms when I am not in the normal TSH range. Recently the doctor changed my Prempro dosage from .45/1.5 mg per day to double that amount. Do you think the change in Prempro could change my thyroid levels? Should I request new thyroid blood tests or wait for my annual testing which comes up in 6 months?
110491 tn?1274481937 After I have been feeling run down for months now they finally checked a few things and it was discovered that I have little or no testosterone (normal range 6-70, mine came back as <3, meaning 0,1, or 2, not measurable). My GP says that's probably why I feel so tired, unmotivated etc. Cortisol was also in the low range, as was estrogen, as expected. They did a vitamin B12 check that came back as excellent. He referred me to an endocrinologist.
Avatar f tn Can I still have an infection like Chlamydia if my CBC came back with my White Blood Cells in the normal range? I also had a Urinalysis that was negative for UTI. However I have some on again off again mild pain. But no burning when I pee and no discharge.
Avatar f tn I can't give you a normal range but I will say that it is quite normal to have meds adjusted after first checked. When I got my first call, the nurse prefaced the change in dose with, "Don't worry. You're fine. We just want to up the dose to get your level a little higher." of course I still worried and asked what was wrong. She said REs choose a dose to start that they think will be good but depending on how you respond, they tweak here and there to get it just right.
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
1139187 tn?1355706647 Long story short, a month later my testosterone level is 615, i do have more energy and getting some morning wood now. When i saw the test results, it said my estrogen was 58. The range on the test was up to 57. Should i be worried about this?
Avatar f tn I just noticed that in her labs from 11/13, TT3 is well over range, but by 5/14, FT3 (FT3 is the unbound portion of TT3) is very low in the range. Back in 3/13, TT3 was low, so it's kind of all over the place. Of course, there's also 14 months time in there. Has anyone ever tested your daughter for thyroid antibodies? Her current labs could suggest Graves' disease (autoimmune hyperthyroidism). TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) is the test for Graves'.
Avatar f tn Why would you be given estrogen with elevated estrogen? My reasons for weight gain/difficulty losing weight were severe insulin resistance and untreated hypothyroidism. My hip to waist ratio was 0.96 due to insulin resistance.
Avatar f tn How to I try to stay postive, according to the hcg calulator, im above 60% so I fall into normal range. Progestrone have nothing to do with HCG? Im not bleeding or spotting. Any advise, does this look ok? .
Avatar f tn Your doctor really should be testing FREE T3 and FREE T4 and basing your meds adjustments on those, rather than TSH. However, if your TSH is "just barely normal", then, yes, you most likely need an increase. Is she testing FT3 and FT4, too? TSH range is much too high at most labs. 0.3-3.0 was recommended by AACE many years ago. Few doctors and labs use that range. Yes, most likely Hashi's...
Avatar f tn 5, T4 still high, but free T4 is within normal range (and by the way has always been in the normal range). So now my question is this: TSH was high twice (6.8 and 7.0) while she was on the YAZ. After stopping YAZ for 2 weeks, TSH dropped to 2.8. But while she was in the ER for severe respiratory problems her TSH was 7.2. Can stress/illness as well as estrogen (YAZ) cause TSH to be elevated? Because now they are saying all is normal, there is no thyroid problem.
