1039061 tn?1257878294 In women, Soy also mimics estrogen. So if you indulge in a soy filled meal, and then dont for a few days, the body can see this as estrogen fluctuations. Being a guy, I have no experience with this but have read it quite a few times in different places. One thing that is for sure: All hormones play tug of war with each other, so its best to keep them as balanced as possible. I think the difference is between fermented soy and um-fermented soy. - something for you to goggle.
Avatar f tn Taking phytoestrogen (mimics estrogen) supplements such as soy, black cohosh, ginseng, or red clover can help. Full effects can take a few months to kick in. You can find phytoestrogen supplements at health food stores and pharmacies.
Avatar n tn And I am not referring to rogaine or propecia or anything like that. A pill that mimics what the estrogen in the Yasmin does to prevent my hair from falling out?
1340383 tn?1309990914 no artificial sweeteners, limit your soy intake since it mimics estrogen, etc. also, make sure you stay at a good body weight since too little or too much body fat definitely effects your hormones.
Avatar n tn You really need bloodwork to confirm the diagnosis, you could have a problem with your adrenal gland that would cause the same symptoms, the only way to know is bloodwork because you already had a normal ultrasound. I would be concerned that PCOS may not be you problem yes you have many symptoms of PCOS but adrenal hyperplasia mimics PCOS, and it could explain the seizures. Seizure are NOT common with PCOS and if your doctor is ok with that diagnosis without bloodwork get a second opinion!!
Avatar f tn It's perfectly OK to stop estrogen for a short time to see what your body makes of it. You will know right away how it affects you, it's not like you have to wait months and months to see if you get a hot flash. Give it a try and ask about the progesterone again too. How long do you have to wait to get back on it? I would try a period of time taking nothing, then a period of time taking just estrogen, and then a period of time with progesterone not estrogen.
Avatar f tn I am not a total expert, but I have recently learned that my habit of eating lots of soy products (soy milk, soy meat, etc) mimics estrogen in the body. I also found out that certain chemicals in soft plastic water bottles (which I had drank out of every day for a year at work) 'leak' into the water and also 'mimic' estrogen. Even stress hormones can lead to further imbalances.
Avatar f tn if your progesterone is that low you should be on suppliments, clomid mimics estrogen I think so that yould keep your progesterone low, I would get on some suppliments if I was you to give this pregnancy the best chance :)
Avatar f tn This is seriously depressing news. Especially since many of us have had this condition for decades and yet did not find out about it till middle age. If we'd known earlier this would not have been an issue. I'm in the post tx wait to see if the tx worked. I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that I had a glass of soy milk every morning with the riba. Soy mimics estrogen so maybe I'll get lucky. I fit every one of the indications for relapse except genotype.
Avatar f tn Are you seeing a neurologist? I am not sure what other mimics there could be. Unless a pinched nerve or nerve compression. You sure have something going on.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am new to this forum, and this topic. I hope this is the right place to post, I'm also hoping to find some answers... (Also, I'm sorry for such a long post!) My name is April, I am 32 and I am in the midst of testing/referrals/appointments to figure out what is going on with me. I first went to the NP at my doctor's office last week due to overwhelming fatigue.
16702 tn?1234090645 Coffee is commonly known to make fibrocystic breast disease worse. It is not thought to be the caffeine, but coffee itself mimics estrogen strongly. Thus, decaffinated coffee still may be estrogenic. Clover, Red Clover tea, Alfalfa Sprouts. Australian sheep grazing on imported European clover developed still births and sterility 3 years later. Finally, formononetin was determined to be the culprit. Formononetin mimics estrogen. Sunflower Seeds.

Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
1450927 tn?1289514871 s too early to get any pregnancy symptoms. Since you are on progesterone sometimes it mimics pregnancy symptoms. Women have got positive results with or without symptoms. I know the wait is a killer. Few more days.. Good luck!
