20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar n tn after that pregnancy symptoms were gone. After my confirmed fail, I asked the doctor if my estrogen levels were low. Doctor: "Oral estrogen levels are not reflected in the blood"..."its not like suppositories or patches"...."your estrogen level was higher than 96 since you are taking it orally"...and your level was 244 the day of transfer".....
Avatar n tn hello ladies, i just had my day 3 labs done ,and come to find out that my estrogen levels are extremly low, lt was 16. my obgyn told me not to worry about this and we would try clomid. ( which i know i dont have problems ovulating. i have been reading and i believe that estrogen plays a very important role in conceiving! am i wrong? do levels get higher throughout your cycle? has anyone had troubles conceiving with low levels? . can someone take estrogen supplements?
Avatar n tn I read that a c-section can throw off hormone levels. Maybe there is a connection between female hormone levels and neuropathy.
126702 tn?1240888250 Estradiol (E2) Day 4-5 of meds 100+ pg/ml or 2x Day 3 There are no charts showing E2 levels during stimulation since there is a wide variation depending on how many follicles are being produced and their size. Most doctors will consider any increase in E2 a positive sign, but others use a formula of either 100 pg/ml after 4 days of stims, or a doubling in E2 from the level taken on cycle day 3.
546318 tn?1328193635 I use CBFM and I collect the sticks even after I get peak and final high I keep testing so I can read the sticks myself to see how my estrogen levels are doing. My estrogen readings from first high day are pale blue. (the paler they are the higher the estrogen levels) This month the levels have gone slightly darker from day7 past ovulation. I am on day 8dpo today. So this means that my estrogen levels are lower than they were at time of ovulation.
1052633 tn?1311872678 i recently switched to another fertility specialist with more experience and when she looked @ my records from the other office, she informed me that my fsh levels are fine! it was my estrogen levels that are high. so what i was wondering was if anybody knew if by me having high estrogen levels, is that going to be an issue for the IVF procedure? i dont know if that's going to affect my ability to have a successful IVF procedure.
Avatar f tn my estrogen climbed well with follistim/menopur. but when i did a cycle with follistim/lupron my follie growth stalled compeltely and then my estrogen nosedived. so it was cancelled. they just want to give you a boost i would think.
1328473 tn?1335874467 I have read that high estrogen levels can cause "bad" eggs. We recently completed our first IVF cycle that resulted in a pregnancy but I m/c between 6-7 weeks. My RE did not have much info on why it happened. My Estrogen was 7800 at the time of retrieval, which I know is high. Can high estrogen levels cause my eggs to be bad and in turn result in the m/c?
Avatar f tn Declining estrogen levels may lead to unfavorable changes in your blood cholesterol levels, including an increase in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol — the "bad" cholesterol — which contributes to an increased risk of heart disease. At the same time, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol — the "good" cholesterol — decreases in many women as they age, which also increases the risk of heart disease.
898974 tn?1244584828 Did your estrogen drop? They tested mine several times b4 transfer and I was on 3 dots prior to fet. It is not necessarily a bad sign. The levels rise as the placenta develops and produces its own hormones in addition to the ones you are supplementing. When do you go for you beta?
15695260 tn?1549593113 Do you think this would cause older moms to have a higher incidence of having an autistic child? I was 43 and my son is HF.
Avatar f tn It's called melasma or also "pregnancy mask" and is thought to be caused by the elevated levels of estrogen and progesterone in pregnancy. The elevated hormone levels stimulate the melanin in our skin (which gives our skin its pigmentation) and causes dark patches. They get better after baby is born and hormones go back to normal. It's very common in pregnancy.
Avatar f tn No worries! Estrogen supplements are totally fine during your cycle. Lots of people use them. Personally, I was on estrogen until I was 11 weeks pregnant. It's a hormone your body produces naturally, and in even greater amounts during pregnancy, so you're fine! It's the same thing with progesterone. Lots of women use it both to get pregnant and to sustain a pregnancy, yet the bottles have a warning saying not to use while pregnant.
Avatar n tn Sounds like you need a combo of T4 and T3 instead of the straight T3. Your thyroid levels should be carefully monitored during pregnancy. Low thyroid in the early months can damage the baby.
Avatar f tn Your estrogen levels have reached their peak in pregnancy and usually cause lots of headaches. They have the same symptoms as a sinus headache as the estrogen can cause swelling in the nasal cavities.
Avatar f tn 16 is a high enough level for them to implant. With this pregnancy my prog level was only an 11 and that was taken at 14dpo. Doc did put me on 400mg prometrium until I was 12 weeks along. I am now 22 weeks and all is well. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Do you have any idea what your numbers were before transfer & at 3 dpt? 70 does seem low - I too had to go on Estrace vag. suppositories before transfer and then it was increased after transfer. I wish I would've known what my exact number was- I know that I was first put on Estrace as well as the estrogen patches, my number was 100 & was considered low. That's why I wondered what your numbers were like before so you'd have something to compare with.
Avatar m tn They could easily check estrogen levels next time before stopping it, but even in the ivf world they stop estrogen and progesterone at 10 -12 weeks. I was 44 when I conceived and they stopped mine at 12 weeks. I agree with our bodies need time to reset.
Avatar n tn I have very low Estrogen & Progesterone levels. I was told 28 is the high end of levels and i am a 4. Is this an easy fix for fertility purposes or is my new DR making light of the situation? I feel like i have no idea about this sort of stuff and have never had any issues in that area before. I have regular cycles, etc. I have been off pill for almost 3 years and we weren't trying to get pregnant but not not trying either. I am 32 and he is 34, neither of us have children.
1336491 tn?1340619541 You might want to message Quix about your post to be sure you get a response from her as she hasn't been able to spend a lot of time with us lately. It makes sense that estrogen suppressess the immune system to some extent as estrogen levels remain high during pregnancy when a woman's immune system needs to be suppressed so her own system doesn't attack the 'intruder' fetus. I'm not sure exactly what your concern is with patch use if you have MS.
Avatar f tn I lost a baby that was 4 weeks old in March. I am worried that having only one ovary is effecting my estrogen levels, making me not as fertile. Does estrogen have anything to do with carrying the baby? I think so but I am not sure. Any help advice comments would be so appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hello, Breast soreness during pregnancy or any other time is a sign of high estrogen levels. During pregnancy levels, however, progesterone should be higher and if not a miscarrage can occur. Many women use progesterone cream to conceive as well as prevent miscarriage.
Avatar f tn Estrogen can give quite a headache, and estrogen levels increase a lot during pregnancy -- try vitamin B 100 and magnesium (be sure to take the magnesium only a half pill at a time or it can give you stomach cramps and the runs).
Avatar f tn ve been feeling the symptoms of menopause so had my levels checked. Total estrogen came back as 892 pg/ml. The doctor is telling me this is within normal limits of the lab that tested my blood. It sounds high to me and I cannot find any definite answers online. Any information is greatly appreciated as this has me worried. Thank you.
