Avatar n tn he was able to explain all my symptoms. Everything is related to hormones. Estrogen, cortisol?, and thyroid.he drawed a diagram and walked me step by step through every symptom and why. I didn't mention that I have hypothyroidism(thyroid is non active)- I've had it for 14 years and just don't think about it , it's just part of my life. Anyway he has me on 2 supplements for my thyroid and 1 for estrogen and some other one. I can happily say that my back pain is almost nill.
Avatar m tn Did they do blood testing for kidney function and to get a GFR (glomerular filtration rate, calculated to see how well your kidneys are functioning)? I hope your kidneys are not failing causing this swelling. Have they made sure you are not having congestive heart failure and your salt level is right concerning your swelling all over as well?
Avatar f tn Though connected to the kidneys, they play no role in the functioning of the kidneys. Adrenal Glands are part of the endocrine system. I don't know if your Dr recommended anything yet but I would definitely take your daughter to a pediatric endocinologist. She needs blood work to determine if these adrenal cysts are affecting any part of the adrenal gland process.
7831604 tn?1399711007 I will start off by saying I have no idea where your kidneys are but on my left side Above my hip/under my ribs I am sore its sore when I am turning or bending. Could this be my kidneys?
Avatar f tn So I know what the pain feels like, and with my first pregnancy I got one bad kidney infection that I actually thought was me going into labor, until I got to the hospital and found out it was my kidneys. This pregnancy my kidney seems to always feel swollen. Especially once I start feeling like I have to pee. I can hardly get comfortable laying down because of it. I've never had kidney stones and would hope to not ever get them.
Avatar f tn Hello there, Medullary sponge kidney is a condition in which cysts develop in the urine collecting ducts and tubules of one or both kidneys. The exact cause is not known. The common symptoms are pain in the back, haematuria, excessive amount of calcium in the urine. The complications are kidney stones, infection and kidney failure. Treatment is usually symptomatic. It is best to consult an urologist and get your doubts clarified. Do keep me posted with more queries. Best wishes and regards!

Avatar f tn I had my first doctor appt today since my mc in august AND since finding out I'm pregnant again...I have been having unbearable back pain and so I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it doesn't sound muscular because heat, massage and stretching isn't helping, he said it could be something wrong with my kidneys, he got a urine test & blood work ordered which I will find out next week the results...has anyone experienced anything like this?
Avatar f tn I'm 34 weeks and my kidneys are just killing me. I went to the bath room this morning and I had to pee so bad but it was like I was blocked off. I had a uti already with this pregnancy and I don't think that's what it is. The doc confirmed that I had got rid of it. Does anyone possibly know why my kidneys could be hurting so bad.
Avatar f tn I'm nearly 9 weeks pregnant and in pain with my kidneys is this normal?
5373382 tn?1369738172 With your 50 eGFR, they will monitor that for three months, yes? It it remains low, that is indicative of kidneys not working properly. I understand your concern. What does your doctor say about this. I would stay hydrated during this time. When caught early, these things can be improved! Stay on top of this. Blood pressure okay? Diabetes checked? These are big ones to make sure are under control for the kidneys. Let me know any update.
Avatar n tn With a truly sudden elevation, I would be looking for something else in my life that changed around the same time or right before my blood pressure went up. If you are female, estrogen replacement therapy can make your blood pressure go up; estrogen acts like a salt. Which brings us to dietary changes, are you suddenly getting a lot more salt in your diet. Also, some herbs, like licorice, can trigger a rise in blood pressure. Stress, anxiety, or physical pain can do the same thing.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar n tn The same thing happens in your bloodstream, heart, brain, kidneys, and all the tissues in your body. If you don’t have enough magnesium to help keep calcium dissolved, you may end up with calcium-excess muscle spasms, fibromyalgia, hardening of the arteries, and even dental cavities. Another scenario plays out in the kidneys. If there is too much calcium in the kidneys and not enough magnesium to dissolve it, you can get kidney stones.
