Avatar f tn I've had three cancers, all estrogen positive. I tried a few medications and I'm now on Aromasin, an estrogen inhibitor. I figure I'll try the Aromasin and see if it gives me more protection from a recurrence. It's the least debilitating of the aromatase inhibitors for me, but it does cause joint pain. It's in clinical trials right now for ovca, but I am NOT waiting for the results of the trial.
Avatar f tn I have not done any HRT but have had the hardest time with anxiety, hot flashes, brain fog, fatigue, achy joints. Is it pointless to start HRT now 6 years later?
107366 tn?1305680375 I have been on Aromasin for about 12 weeks. I took Femara for a short time back last fall, and again this spring. Are any of you on Aromasin, Femara, Tamoxifen, or Arimidex experiencing joint/bone pain? If so, do you find it getting worse the longer you are on it? I finally got off IV chemo in favor of taking AI's because IV chemo was doing too much damage and I needed a break.
Avatar n tn s been shown to be quite a bit more effective than Tamoxifen at curtailing the production of estrogen. My estradiol (estrogen) blood level is at a negative 20 at the moment, and I take Aromasin only every other day. Please ask your doc about it; swelling of the feet doesn't seem to be a common symptom of it. It's got other side effects that are icky, like sore hands and hot flashes, but so what. I'm alive! Good luck to you.
Avatar m tn I have regained a little on the arms and calves but the legs have not and now I have very loose joints or ligament. That started about three weeks ago and now with the legs I'm having lots of trouble. Quickly, I had a fusion in neck 3 years ago and it did not take completely but last mri shows no change so Dr said leave it alone for now. BUT now the muscle and joints problem.
Avatar n tn however, at that age also consider urinary incontinence due to decreasing estrogen levels. after ruling out bladder infection/ stones/ metabolic problems your vet may want to try estrogen supplement the arthritis can be eased with new non-steroidal meds from your vet. reduce her weight and try some physical therapy on the affected joints.
Avatar f tn Some kind of very low dose of estrogen or use of estrogen creme should be allowed to stop this pain. I know the doctors say NO ESTROGEN as the cancer will return. Well it may return on its own and I do not like to take this pain medication. What research says that we women must go totally against what God put into us? We are all still guinie pigs in this treatment or so it seems to me and I really get tired of having to think constantly about this cancer.
Avatar f tn You may have a virus that is making your joints hurt. If you do any kind of repetitive work that can make your arm joints and fingers painful, so you may need to have a complete rest to allow recovery and then limit your time with rest breaks in between any work that you do. As your hormone levels are fine, I feel that what you felt inside your vagina would feel wrinkly and dry because you were not sexually stimulated for the vagina to produce more lubrication.
Avatar f tn I have always had a pain that consums my hip joints - not an arthritic pain, but an unbearable pain that consumed my hip joints with no relief - mostly one week prior to menstral cycle in the past. I have also experienced pain in my right crook of my leg prior to surgery sometimes lasting just a few minutes, other times lasting days. Since the surgery the hip pain (again, not an achy joint kind of pain. I have that too, but only in my left hip joint) has been constant.
Avatar n tn Someone must know about the composition of the connective tissue of the retina and have ideas about nutrition that strengthens it to prevent recurring tears.. LIke glucosamine for joints. Anyone?
Avatar n tn Hi, Ten months after multiple pelvic fractures and I have excruciating pre menstrual cramps in my SI joints and other fracture sites for about three or four days. I spend a lot of time with a super sized heat pack which gives some relief.
Avatar f tn My joints and bones were aching. You can get into severe spine issues if not on enough estrogen. I suffered from a slipped disc over a year ago... physical therapy helped, but honestly, I did not get real relief until I had more estrogen in my system. It was so low for a long time. I am starting to feel normal again. I will suggest a book to you... IT's HUGE... IT's Amazing!!!! Please try to order it ... it is not easily found in the bookstores, but is on Amazon and the like.
Avatar n tn 18 month later now my hips are starting to hurt pretty regularily, will discuss with oncologist next visit. Basically blocking all the Estrogen is not a great thing for the joints.
Avatar m tn However, I had (sorry for the length) hot flashes at night that woke me up, severe anxiety, oily skin, pain in my hips and back, I had really sore joints but that went away, dry eyes, headaches, cold sweaty feet. The hot flashes are the worst. About 2-3 every day my skin on my back, neck gets so hot. My ears turn really red. This sometimes happens more than once a day. I can't find anything that causes this other than scary rare conditions and menopause!!! I am terrified!
371473 tn?1198810190 I also feel tendon and surrounding tissues inflammation around joints. I am experiencing major stiffness in some of my joints in the morning - e.g right hand middle finger middle joint but not left one as much. My feet hurt especially after walking for longer than half an hour. Sometimes pain is worse when I walk and somtimes when I am resting. I am taking mobic and narcotics for pain which only sometimes help. The biggest help is capzasin cream 0.
Avatar m tn Mood changes and all the symptoms associated with menopause are hormone caused. Estrogen and testosterone production decline or go away with surgical menopause and if we don't supplement it, then all sorts of things happen. Low estrogen manifests itself in: 1. Hot flashes, sweating (episodes of sweating) 2. Night Sweats 3. Heart discomfort (unusual awareness of heart beat, heart skipping, heart racing, tightness) 4.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed by an Immunologist with Joint Hypermobility Syndrome three years ago. I started Pilates, which seemed to help my joints. I am having trouble believing this diagnosis, however. I tested negative for RA three years ago. My weight has been up and down, due to pregnancies. I am at a healthy weight now, but I feel like it takes quite a bit of effort to stay here. I don’t know what type of specialist I should see. I'm not even really sure where to post this question.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
