Avatar f tn ))) I love making those connections in case you cannot tell! Let me know if you find anything out...and, I will take a look at the Alcohol/estrogen issue. I did not reseach that today. I am sorry to have to ask, but I am not sure what ER and PR mean. Do you mind telling me? I am curious. Thanks. Now, on the Red Wine issue....well, I Know that my husband would say that Red Wine cures anything :) But again, I have not seen research on that. Interesting.
Avatar m tn I only started getting it after I had a complete hysterectomy/oopherectomy and is part of extremely low estrogen levels (surgical menopause). My ENT has agreed that low estrogen levels can cause your mucus to thicken and dry your sinuses. If anyone has anything similar or a way of getting the jelly out I’d be most grateful (I sniff salt water which helps a bit).
Avatar f tn Studies have shown that more than 2 could interferre with implantation. Trust me, I hear you about the wine. But going through all of this (clomid, shots, IUI) it's not worth the wine so I drink up until my rise in LH and before my IUI. When I trigger/IUI, that's when I stop and wait out the 2 weeks. For me, it's just not worth the guilt if I thought for a second that my 2+ glasses of wine is the cause of it not happening. I know.
Avatar n tn I have been living in a hostel for several months (privately owned) and everything was going pretty good until a new resident and his friend (who I believe is gay) decided to take revenge on me (together with another friend of theirs) because I drank a glass of wine from a bottle belonging to the first guy.
Avatar f tn I know this may be a stupid question, but my boyfriends mom made this for and it had wine in it. I did not know of this until after I ate it. Will this harm my baby? It was cooking for 3 hours.
483733 tn?1326798446 All wines contain sulfites, because yeast naturally produces sulfite compounds during the fermentation process, and without sulfites, wine would spoil and oxidize. White wine has more sulfites than red wine. I feel that alone wine ingestion is not responsible for these swellings.A predisposing pathology has to be there. As you are a perimenopausal female,so the chances of arthritis are more likely. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep us posted if you want any more information.
429647 tn?1249753429 only to find out that her cancer is estrogen postive and probably caused or in some part aided in the growth of her masses. This is a very touchy subject on this forum, and as much as I love and adore Mary, she and I are on opposite sides on this one. Flashes are horrid, I will agree that I have had a really tough time with them as well as the other symptoms of menopause....but, you know what....I am alive. Gather all the facts you can....best of luck.
Avatar f tn Supposedly it is good for mom bc it helps with aches and pains and sleep and whatnot, but not to exceed that glass a night. And I even read a study saying that the antioxidants in wine can be good for baby, but once again as long as you dont exceed that one glass.

Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar n tn Minor hepatic insufficiency responds not unfavorably to unadulterated dry white table wine. The tannin content and the mild antiseptic properties of wine make it valuable in the treatment of intestinal colic, mucous colitis, spastic constipation, diarrhea and many infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.”—Wine as Food and Medicine, pp. 5, 58.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
767435 tn?1235759815 The tests are not reliable at ALL. Absolute crap, I'm afraid. One easy way to tell: you can't have an allergy to caffeine. Our bodies react allergically to proteins. Caffeine has no protein. Some people have a sensitivity to it, but to date, there is no test like an allergy test for that. They have a more physiological test for that, where they can note your heart rate and other factors and how they change when you consume caffeine. On top of that, your hair is dead cells.
Avatar m tn It is studied that alcohol increases your estrogen levels even after one drink. Could the level of estrogen after 3 beers while taking a birth control pill with 30 mg.estradiol shoot high enough to cause nausea the same way some birth control with higher estrogen cause nausea?
Avatar m tn iam 32 hbsag +ve , hbeag +ve, but now i have started drinking white wine, a bottle ( 750 ml ) thrice in a week, someine said wine is good for health , is it okay ? i no more drink scotch or anything ..
Avatar n tn I sure didn't. If the transfer didn't take, I never wanted to second-guess whether my actions had had a negative effect. You make this choice over and over during pregnancy ... on anything that can affect your body to the possible detriment of your potential baby, you just to have to decide whether you would feel it was your fault in the event things don't go right.
Avatar f tn My doctor said no but other people say their doctors say it's fine once in awhile.
Avatar f tn Yes I have a glass of red wine occassionally and know others that have also drank red wine during pregnancy. I think in your first and second trimester it's one glass if red wine every week and once you get closer to the third trimester it was one glass a day. I was a little doubtful about it at first but after doing a lot of research I found that a glass of red wine is fine, it also has benefits for you and the baby bc red wine clears up toxins in the body as well.
Avatar f tn So before I herd it was ok to have a glass of wine, now they don't recommend it.. any thoughts?
9525685 tn?1410800512 I am due in another 4 week's my husband just got a huge promotion and wanted to toast am i able to have a glass of wine so late in my pregnancy?
Avatar m tn hello moderators i asked a question earlier and would like the opinion of teak please Dear Doctor we are are in the south of france and i took my business associates to a restaurant where my friend works he brought the wine bottle and while removing (i don't know how to tell in english) is the aluminum cover using a knife he cut his finger . i noticed and no one else did i kept quite and went to the kitchen and saw that his cut was pretty deep.
Avatar f tn A glass of wine is okay in my opinion and in my Dr's too. I would just limit the amount.
Avatar f tn If there's a chance even the smallest amount of alcohol could lead to fetal alcohol syndrome why would you even risk it? There isn't a set amount of alcohol intake proven to cause FAS so your glass of wine could be all your body needs to poison your baby. Sure many women have done it and had no problems with it but I also hear women smoke through their whole pregnancy and the baby is fine does that mean smoking is ok too? Nope. It's only 9 months drink after you have your baby.
Avatar f tn s fine to have an occasional beer or glass of wine after the first trimester. Keep in mind a glass of wine is only about 4 ounces, sip slow! But the benefits are with it to me. With my first son it helped when I had headaches or couldn't sleep or felt anxious (which was not all the time, I had very little stressors back then). Some women prefer to seek medical prescriptions for their ailments, some prefer the simple answer.
