It is found in vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower. The purpose I guess is to remove the excess estrogen that might be in your system.

Avatar f tn to reducing estrogen such as organic diets, eat more fiber, include flax seed in your diet, eat sulfuric foods (onions, garlic, leafy green vegetables) which improves liver function and can help estrogen levels be more normal, eat more broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts, eat red grapes, drink green tea, etc. I kid you not, these are ways to help normalize estrogen that people say are effective. Too much estrogen is pretty rare for menopause as you usually have the opposite.

Avatar f tn How old are you? This is an old post, so don't know if the person is still around, but there are many reasons for a woman not getting moist. In this case, the woman had never had sex yet, so she had no idea if she did have it if she would have responded by releasing vaginal secretions. I'm guessing she did. But as stated above, yeast infections can cause dryness. So can thyroid problems. So can hormonal problems.
Avatar n tn Drink plenty of fluids, eat frequent small meals, fresh fruits and vegetables, cut down on caffeine and eat Calcium rich foods include dairy products, dark green vegetables, nuts, grains, beans and canned salmon and sardines (with bones). There is currently mixed research on them, as in some cases they are protective against cancer yet they contain isoflavones that have estrogen-like activity that can cause certain cancers to grow more quickly. Avatar f tn This depends of the theory of eating -- there are quite a lot. It also depends on if you have arthritis -- nightshades, for example, can make it worse. There are always foods that are better, neutral, and not so good within every category, but since there are so many theories of eating, and different food tolerances, this isn't answerable in general but only in a way that's specific way to you.

TSH was 3.6, T4 0.86, and free T3 2.9. I was placed on 30 mg/day of Armour. The practitioner suspected iodine deficiency so she also put me on a daily dose 25 mg iodine complex capsules. After a few days I thought my voice was more hoarse and I stopped the iodine.
Avatar f tn Did you eat a lot of leafy green vegetables before testing? Also found in some seeds and nuts, etc. It can also mask B12 deficiency in testing. I think I would look more into that with further testing of B12 testing. It consists of more than a B12 test...there are others to be run to check enzymes, etc. There are more than 1 type of estrogen to be tested in bloodwork too. If all aren't done you cannot get a complete profile. Also have to be done according to cycle. Are you on any hormones?
