20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar f tn I recently took fertility drugs (Follistim,Menopur,Lupron) during March 5-13. My RE stopped meds due to low estrogen(33). Since then I have new RE she wants to detox my system of the meds which fine with me. I should of already had my monthly cycle. On April 3rd she put me on Provera 20mg for 10 days and I still have no period she did blood test on April 21st Estrogen(73) Progest(9) she told me to wait 10 days to see if I have period if not take pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn in pregnancy tsh can be very low (something to do with estrogen binding to the hormone), without it being a concern. Target tsh, if you are on meds, is usually around 1 or less in pregnancy AND ft4 mid to upper of the normal range.
1654035 tn?1332425178 I am now having my second girl and really the pregnancy has felt very similiar. No morning sickness or food aversions. Fatigue, but that has gone away in the second trimester. As far as carrying I think I am carrying lower this time but I am not 100% sure. So do you girls think this is true?
Avatar f tn I'm am 15 days late and 3 home pregnancy test said negative. Is it's a chance I am still pregnant?
Avatar n tn t due to go back until my pregnancy test 10/7. However, I was unhappy with several lapses in care that I received along the process so I switched and they immediately started doing my blood levels every 3-4 days. I guess it helps them to keep your hormones where they need to be to support pregnancy. From what the pharmacist told me, progesterone is the pregnancy hormone and will go up if pregnant and typically estrogen would too if it wasn't IVF.
Avatar f tn Ranges can vary a bit by lab. However, they should not be radically different. Estradiol, estrone, and estriol are forms of estrogen with estradiol and estrone being the primary (and maybe only) systemic forms of estrogen. My lab's ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
Avatar f tn Being that you are breastfeeding you are very limited to kind. I believe it has to be a pure estrogen based pill but I could be wrong. I never went on bc when I was nursing only because selection was limited and you have to be on top of it otherwise its inactive. Not like ref bc where you could miss a day and just take two the next to make it up.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Recent research has proven one risk for our children to have Autism and that is high levels of estrogen in the womb. For a very long time, the cause has been widely unknown and that this factors in is an important development in autism research. Prior studies had already implicated higher uterine concentrations of male sex hormones -- androgens -- in increasing the odds and now researchers and doctors have more information to better understand autism.
Avatar f tn Esteogen is counter indicated for pregnancy- causes birth defects in children- says right on the label to not take whole pregnant! Does anyone know what their estrogen level was on day of transfer and did doctor recommend taking estrogen? Thanks so much for any help you can give me!
429647 tn?1249753429 only to find out that her cancer is estrogen postive and probably caused or in some part aided in the growth of her masses. This is a very touchy subject on this forum, and as much as I love and adore Mary, she and I are on opposite sides on this one. Flashes are horrid, I will agree that I have had a really tough time with them as well as the other symptoms of menopause....but, you know what....I am alive. Gather all the facts you can....best of luck.
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar n tn They begrudgingly gave me an order for 9 days after the d3 transfer. My estrogen had dropped to a 96 by that day. A nurse from my clinic called me in a panic and told me to increase my estrogen dose to 3 times day. I'm pretty sure based on my symptoms I started to get pregnant and then I had a lot of cramping day 8 & 9 post d3 transfer....after that pregnancy symptoms were gone. After my confirmed fail, I asked the doctor if my estrogen levels were low.
1874149 tn?1339551701 My question to all the ladies that have gone through this process is, Is my wife pregnant or is it a false positive because of the estrogen shots? She did another clearblue pregnancy test and it showed positive this morning 7 days after the IUI and procedure.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar f tn I have read using natural progesterone cream/bioidentical cream can help in TTC and sustaining pregnancy. Google progesterone and pregnancy and see what it says. My research(one line and in books) says it can help!
546318 tn?1328193635 I use CBFM and I collect the sticks even after I get peak and final high I keep testing so I can read the sticks myself to see how my estrogen levels are doing. My estrogen readings from first high day are pale blue. (the paler they are the higher the estrogen levels) This month the levels have gone slightly darker from day7 past ovulation. I am on day 8dpo today. So this means that my estrogen levels are lower than they were at time of ovulation.
Avatar f tn Cysts are caused from to much estrogen in the body and when you have your period you produce the hormone progesterone which balances the estrogen. Feel your breasts for lumps. If you find some don't fret they are cancerous the majority of the time but do get them checked as well. Good luck dearest.
