1002364 tn?1250107254 Do you have PCOS? Why were you asking? PCOS tends to have estrogen dominance but only cause you may not ovulate then you never get the progesterone you need becasue you did not ovulate. If you have had an US to show and blood work to show you are ovulating it is usually not an issue of estrogen dominance though. Your BBT will show if it is a problem though and if you are Oing or not. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn It has a lot to do with estrogen production in your ovaries and hormones in your thyroid gland too. PCOS has symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, irritability, hairiness... Lol. It can be difficult to conceive sometimes, and many women with PCOS have irregular periods.
Avatar n tn But as far as the seizures I have never heard of anyone relating it to PCOS. PCOS can mess with your cycles. some people like myself dont even get a period or ovulate without meds. It can make it hard to get pregnate due to the absent ovulation. But if your having ovulation and periods you should be ok with getting pregnate. It is possible you need a higher dosage of estrogen to stop your cycles. Good luck and hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Not everyone with Endo has the same symptoms. Also PCOS and Endo go hand in hand as well so its possible you could have both/one or the other.
Avatar m tn I was also given Metformin to help with the PCOS. According to everything I have read about PCOS, and in Physicans information, after not having a AF in 6 month, seek your MD or GYN. We know we have PCOS, but you should have your Af atleast 4 times a year. Good luck!
823438 tn?1238591223 Could be a number of things to be quite honest. The first thing that pops in my head is either PCOS or a progesterone problem. Its a wise idea that you contact your Dr.
797256 tn?1237636468 I just had my hormones tested they tested LH, FSH, Estradiol I think that is (estrogen), that is it. They said they are in the normal range, now I got my insulin tested for insulin resistant and they said it came back in normal range, but the (family) doctor says he wants me to take the meds because of having all the symptoms of PCOS. 5 years ago I went to a fertility doctor (he got me prego) but before that he checked everything and said I have PCOS.
Avatar n tn i m 19 yrs old and recently got diagnosed with pcos. dont know wat to do.m in a dilemma.also i am not able to loose any wieght and if i try to, i get stretch marks all over me very easily.wat do i do?
Avatar f tn In addition, their LH and estrogen levels were higher than those adolescents with anorexia only. PCOS occurs in 10% of females during reproductive age. The cause is still unknown. For more information about anorexia, visit the bella vita website. Dr.
988694 tn?1332359479 The metabolism of estrogen and androgenic hormones such as testosterone, androstenedione and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) is impaired in those with PCOS. Women with PCOS have also low progesterone and estrogen cream will make this condition even worse promoting a condition called estrogen dominance when too much estrogen is not balanced by sufficient amount of progesterone. Estrogen dominance also promotes insulin resistance and supresses the thyroid function.
1369218 tn?1282423884 It helps decrease the amount of estrogen in the body which can interfere with your thyroid hormones effectiveness. Is your new doctor a women. The reason I ask is because I didn't get diagnosed by a man and I saw a male Endo prior to my new Endo. I think women are more understanding of our problems. I wish you the best and hope you get answers.
325224 tn?1342795914 You won't have to take Metformin. Because this drug is one you have to wean on and off of it wouldn't be wise to start it up after becoming pregnant especially as the moment you are up to a nice, high dose you'd have to turn right back around and wean off of it. I did take Progesterone while pregnant. Because PCOS is a hormonal issue I felt taking Progesterone would be beneficial and put my mind at ease. Sure enough my baby girl is turning 15-months old later this month.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar f tn t get pregnant after four to six cycles on an ovulatory dose of clomid, seek referral to a fertility specialist, who will discuss treatment either with shots of FSH or with IVF. adding estrogen and/or progesterone in the latter part of the cycle after taking clomid also can help, and may be a reasonable alternative to moving on to more advanced therapy. clomid can be a double edged sword- it helps you ovulate, but also may disrupt your uterine lining.
Avatar f tn I am 30 years old with pcos and the doctor is now telling me I has low progesterone. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 6 months, and now I may have to use progesterone to conceive and it's freaking me out because I have had blood clotting issues in the past. Has anyone ever had this same thing?
Avatar f tn I have both hypothyroidism and PCOS, but I was diagnosed with pcos 10 years ago, and hypothryoidism 3 weeks ago. I do understand that they are very much related and often go hand in hand...
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with pcos about a year ago. I've been in pain for about 5 days now with a cyst on my ovary. I've also noticed a watery like nonsmell clear/white discharge that sometimes soaks my panties and my pants. Also like I peed myself. Just wondering if this happens with pcos? I'm waiting for an appointment to see my doctor now. Is it something I should be seen for asap? It's so gross and I really have no idea what to do thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn PCOS is caused by an imbalance in the hormones (chemical messengers) in your brain and your ovaries. PCOS usually happens when a hormone called LH (from the pituitary gland) or levels of insulin (from the pancreas) are too high, which then causes the ovaries to make extra amounts of testosterone. This is how pcos is diagnosed. https://www.webmd.com/women/do-i-have-pcos#1 Blood work and checking these levels is part of it.
Avatar f tn I was told that I have PCOS by my obgyn, I she informed me that the only way to get rid of these cysts is to take birth control pills. I have been placed on the high and low estrogen pill. My question is that my husband & I are ready to have a child and it's creating a problem. She mention that after 5-6 month the cysts should go away. Even if they go away would I be able to have children or not? By taking those pill they make me sick. Is their any hope for me!!!
