Avatar f tn Luteal phase is the time in between when you ovulate and when your next period starts. Everyone's luteal phase is different, but they typically last from 10 to 16 days with the average being 14 days. Like the other post said, the best way to figure yours out is to start BBT (basal body temperature) charting. Are you familiar with this? You use a BBT thermometer and take your temp every day before getting out of bed. Once you do it for a cycle or two, you should notice a pattern.
Avatar n tn so since in the Luteal phase, having higher estridol can effect the release of the egg, maybe it could effect how many eggs are released?
594189 tn?1386916607 are you having AF after 6 days or spotting? are you on progesterone supplements already? or have they shown you have low progesterone during this time? I have spotted the last few years during LP and progesteerone supplements stop that every time.. otherwise just to make sure your ovulating well... GOOD LUCK!
Avatar m tn No idea about your particular case---but sometimes I get that right in the middle of my luteal phase, and I think it's the result of a secondary estrogen surge. I read that---if my memory serves---in Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Is this cm coinciding with a waking temperature dip? It always would, for me, and I think that's another signal the estrogen surge is happening.
465737 tn?1315754922 Its not uncommon to ovulate later than normal in a cycle,i occasionally ovulate cd22.i still have same luteal phase so you will just have a longer cycle.since ovulation tells us when to expect our period. Tina your lutheal phase is from the day you ovulate until you get your period.12 days is considered ideal in order for implantation to take place.
Avatar f tn Vitex or Chaste tree berry acts on the hypothalamus and pituitary glands by increasing luteinizing hormone (LH) production and mildly inhibiting the release of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This results in a shift in the ratio of estrogen to progesterone, with a rise in progesterone. The ability of chaste tree berry to raise progesterone levels in the body is an indirect effect, so the herb itself is not a hormone. Good Luck and i hope this helps!
Avatar f tn If you notice that your luteal phase is short (less than 10 days; over 12 days is ideal for luteal phases), then the doctor may also prescribe Clomid to help regulate a longer cycle. Charting your BBTs for several months will help you determine ovulation and the length of your luteal phase. If you need help with charting, send me a message. MedHelp has a great ovulation tracker. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn The first 5 cycles, the estrogen did not work well, and at some point I would start to bleed in the luteal phase. 6th IUI was better with the progesterone, but I had some light bleeding on day 11 and 12 after IUI, which i thought was implantation bleeding, which then stopped. Along with the bleeding, I had uterine cramps that lasted almost 2 days. (again, i thought it was implantation cramping). But just today, I learned NOT pregnant. So disappointed.
1130246 tn?1260665722 Also, to add a little it ita's post - a normal luteal phase is about 14 days (+/-) and your luteal phase should not change too much in length from month to month. So your temperature should stay elevated for somewhere around 14 days if you are not pregnant. I think they say that a good hint that you are pregnant is a bbt that stays high for longer than 18 days.
20922415 tn?1661860103 Progesterone is one of the sexual hormones in the female bodies maintains and regulates sexual well-being. In males, it is produced in a small amount for sperm development. 1676653 tn?1391039945 What is the luteal phase? I have been hearing different things and I am confused? What is it and how do you determine it?
1425145 tn?1282793674 re symptoms are associated with the change of hormones between your estrogen phase and the progesterone (luteal) phase. The shift from one to the other can bring on headaches, migraines, dizziness and/or nausea. Make sure you're taking a multi-vitamin with iron and b vitamins to counteract the symptoms.
Avatar m tn progesterone phase/luteal phase this is the what we all call the 2 weeks waiting (2ww) cause on day 28 (for most women) you get your period again and start your cycle again, or you test and find out you are pregnant.
1386765 tn?1451164337 I think most women have pre-AF discharge but that is thicker, heavier and more white or yellow in color. Women have a 2nd estrogen surge halfway through their luteal phase which is what this sounds like. If you have months where you ovulate late then it could be this, but if you have a regular cycle @ 28-30 days then it seems odd you would ovulate so late.
Avatar f tn I had a Progesterone n Estrogen test on the 21st day of my MC and it came out this way Estrogen- Luteal Phase 105.0pg/ml while Pregesterone was 4.5ng/ml. I saw my GYN and he said based on my result that I dont ovulate so he placed me under a bromocriptin tab and honestly since the first day I started taking d drug my body have been behaving so funny. I gather saliva in my mouth, I feel sick, nausea, and threw up and still have that constant feeling as if I want to throw up.

283175 tn?1295537265 a luteal phase is somthing from ovulation until your period.a certain amount of time is needed in order to achieve pregnancy.for anyone in this position, google luteal phase defect,it explains its not possible to concieve if you have a short luteal phase.same as women assuming pregnancy can occur during there period, this is not true.a woman can concieve during ovulation, typically 2 weeks give or take day or 2.
Avatar f tn This is the period of time from when you ovulate until the day before your period begins. In most women, the luteal phase lasts 14 days and does not vary more than a day less or a day more in the majority of women.
Avatar n tn Do you know for sure that you ovulated 24 days ago? In general, a luteal phase of more than 18 days is due to pregnancy! Good luck to you!
972246 tn?1311088535 Your luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your next period. Typically women have a 14 day luteal phase, but not always. Since you have 28-30 day cycles, if you know when you ovulate then you can figure out how long it is. I ovulate on CD 15/16 and start my period on the 15th day after ovulation which gives me a LP of 14 days, since the 15th day after AF comes putting me back at CD1. I hope I explained it well, if not ask away and I'll try to answer.
950472 tn?1246074550 and that I should have started either that day or at least two days following. That was three weeks ago.now my main question is since I was in my luteal phase does that mean i FOR SURE ovulated?
1434731 tn?1382722384 In general, the luteal phase for the majority of women is 10-14 days after ovulation with little variation. Anything shorter than 10 could inidicate a luteal phase problem. Your cycle should not be in total more than 36 days meaning you could ov as late as day 22. The time the varies greatly (from cycle to cycle and woman to woman) is the time before ovulation. After ovulation, only 10-14 days later af should arrive. I had plenty of annouvlation cycles. I have PCOS.
586375 tn?1224897537 can anyone please explain to me what Luteal Phase means and how i figure out what mine is PLEASE
350946 tn?1287623615 SO, I am a little confused about something. To my understanding your O day can vary but typically your luteal phase will be the same hense the outcome of different cycle lengths. However, last several months my cycle has been about 33 days long and it was usually about 31days but when I started clomid it was 33 days. So I started doing bbt and tracking my cycle and last cycle on clomid was 33 days O'd on CD 16 and Luteal Phase was 17 days. So my dr.
