Avatar f tn So I guess what I am saying is Anyones estrogen can be out of whack. Boy (guys have estrogen also in their body) ,girl or woman in peri-menapause. This is a natural suppliment. But, IF YOU ARE ON BIRTH CONTROL PILLS, IT WILL KILL IT, AND YOU COULD GET PREGNANT. Also if you ae on an estrogen birth control that may be what is causing you headaches.
Avatar n tn By ingesting other estrogens, there is a theoretical concern that a person could be interfering with the therapeutic effect of reducing estrogen and, in fact, give the tumor the food it needs to grow. It is not clear, however, that the types of plant estrogens found in soy and other foods are harmful to women being treated for breast cancer. Oncologists vary in their opinions on this, but many do not restrict foods.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar m tn Try phytoestrogens which mimic estrogen. You can find various phytoestrogen products in pharmacies and health food stores. Phytoestrogens include: Soy, Black Cohosh, Ginseng, Red Clover and **** Quai. One product my mother used was Phytolife by Blackmores. It took around 3 months for the full benefits to kick in.

Avatar f tn There are conflicting opinions about whether soy-containing foods are harmful or helpful in relation to breast cancer and/or the risk for breast cancer.
Avatar f tn If I had an ER+ tumor I would never use any Estrogen product. There are other products (not OTC) that I know many women have found quite helpful ... you might ask the Oncologist or at least the nurses in that office. I'm sure they would be more familiar with specific products. I will send you a private message with an additional comment. Regards ....
Avatar f tn Estrogen-injected cattle, birth control pill residue in our rivers and lakes, rare side effects of steroid treatments, pseudo-estrogen from soy products, pseudo-estrogen from BPA in baby bottles and cans - nothing will ever be proven but there sure is a hormonal mess out there...
Avatar f tn So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more. That may leave us estrogen dominant and adding more products that stimulate estrogen can lead to things like a thickening of the endometrium which, over time, can lead to precancerous or even cancerous situations. Estrogen and estrogen like compounds can be stored in fat while progesterone can't (especially if we are already overweight).
Avatar f tn I was not aware of that. Thought I was being safe. Thank you. I do plan on getting it checked out but am not able to afford it at this moment.
548091 tn?1348947013 those suppliments shouldnt have an effect on your estrogen levels, its more likely things like soy products, plastics etc, this sight has great info www.natural-fertility-info.
Avatar f tn t heard of a diet to help this but I do know that estrogen dominance can have a role in it. Google estrogen dominance and you will see some things you can do to help reduce that and some may be food related. Good luck with your recovery.
Avatar n tn http://www.onlineallergycenter.com/treatments/hormone_imbalance.htm What is important is to realize that a low estrogen in some causes a lot of strain on adrenal glands to produce cortisol. This too gets exhausted with time. Thus allergies develop. What your body could fight off earlier, you are unable to do now. Please get a complete hormone assessment done. Hormone replacement therapy should help you. You can try food rich in estrogen. The list is available at: http://dogtorj.net/id46.
Avatar f tn Mirena does not have estrogen in it, i'm pretty sure! Are you sure he said that?
Avatar f tn I am a smoker and was told to not take my estrogen replacement until i have stopped smoking. I am not having much luck with quitting completely and the night sweats and hot flashes are horrible! I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with any of the natural products? I have tried estrovan Pm as I am not getting any sleep, but I felt even more groggy and tired when I took that. I cannot go on like this for the nest 20 yrs any advice would be greatly appreciated.
1365311 tn?1280430303 I believe this medical condition is a result of modern living and our exposure to things we cannot pronounce or comprehend in the food, drugs, and products we use. The female reproductive system is like some kind of sponge. Bad chemicals tend to linger in the repro system before being purged from the body (if truly being purged at all). Meanwhile, harm is being done. Just my non-medical opinion, but I suspect much truth lies in my suspicions.
Avatar n tn with a holistic practice showed a problem in one of my estrogen pathways, and recommended a broccoli seed extract with SGS (sulforaphane glucosinolate). Might it enhance or interfere with Arimidex? My oncologist doesn't seem to know. Thanks.
1340383 tn?1309990914 i don't know of any specific treatments, but since cysts are thought to be from hormonal imbalances (hence why hormonal birth control is the conventuinal treatment) i would adjust your diet to help balance your hormones. no artificial sweeteners, limit your soy intake since it mimics estrogen, etc. also, make sure you stay at a good body weight since too little or too much body fat definitely effects your hormones.
Avatar m tn re already dealing with thryoid issues, as the estrogen levels are still affected by the thryoid and vice versa, whether male or female. It is estrogen in particular that soy affects in a huge way. Dr. Mercola explains more thoroughly and better than I can even begin to repeat why the traditionally fermented soy products are the only soy products that are even safe to consume.
428506 tn?1296557399 I would certainly want to avoid hexane, so you better stop taking medications, anything OTC in the drug store, particularly extracts, etc., and packaged food in the grocery stores. That's why you shop in the health food stores, to avoid these toxic chemicals as much as possible. That's why we started them in the first place, and why I warn people to be careful about the supplement companies they buy from. Hexane is all over the place.
Avatar f tn I am not a total expert, but I have recently learned that my habit of eating lots of soy products (soy milk, soy meat, etc) mimics estrogen in the body. I also found out that certain chemicals in soft plastic water bottles (which I had drank out of every day for a year at work) 'leak' into the water and also 'mimic' estrogen. Even stress hormones can lead to further imbalances.
Avatar f tn One of the benefits of soy is that it breaks down to a type of estrogen substitute. I have never taken estrogen replacement and my levels have always been great. Try a few soy products (ice cream, appetizers, supplements) and see if you feel better. Also, have you MD test your glucose levels. Both higher and lower levels will make you sweat!!
Avatar f tn Soy is contained in almost 60 percent of grocery store food. It is in vegetable burgers and hot dogs and is a hidden ingredient in many other foods. And don’t forget soy milk. One study found that Chinese ate approximately 2 teaspoons to 2 tablespoons of soy a day. Soy is not eaten in large amounts in Asian countries; rather, it is used as a condiment.
Avatar n tn Stop drinking and smoking tobacco, make sure you're getting proper nutrition from real food with limited ingredients, cut down on dairy, try to get some exercise, and have sex every 1-2 days, especially when you're ovulating. After sex, try to lay with your hips elevated for 20 minutes. Also, make sure your partner isn't smoking tobacco or marijuana. Both of those are known to decrease the quality of sperm. Most importantly, don't stress about it. Good luck!
Avatar f tn It could also be food intolerance, both food allergy and food intolerance can cause symptoms of nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain. The difference being in food allergy the IgE antibodies are increased. If symptoms are acute it can even be due to an infection, gastroenteritis. So, if your symptoms persist consult your doctor for an evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Elevated levels of estrogen in men cause them to take on more feminine characteristics. In fact, when estrogen levels in men are higher than they should be, it can bring about a whole slew of unwanted and potentially dangerous side effects. Enlarged breasts are one of the first and most noticeable side effects to appear in men when estrogen levels are elevated. This is known as gynecomastia and a few other names in the gym too.
Avatar f tn t women be allowed to have a small amount of the weak estrogen estriol present in their body to offset problems caused by not having estrogen? Why must ALL the estrogen be destroyed y these drugs - seems like serious overkill in my opinion.
