Avatar f tn Dear cjleslie: Estrogen receptors and Progesterone receptors are often lumped into one category and if positive place the breast cancer into the category of hormone receptor positive breast cancer. This means that hormone therapy (the exact drug depends on the individual situation) will likely be recommended as part of the treatment plan. A Her-2 rating of 2+ suggests that the testing for this protein was done with a method called immunohistochemistry.
Avatar n tn My new doctor recommended me to have a salivary test to test hormone levels/cortisol/dhea. The results show what she called estrogen deficiency and high cortisol levels. progestrone level is okay. She said that I could try "natural" estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use.
Avatar f tn fibroadenoma of breast, fibrocystic changes of breast including fibrosis and apocrine metaplasia, Estrogen and Progesterone positive and HER2/Neu positive. Predictive marker at 2+ and fluorescence in situ Hybrization fish report not amplified. Biopsy pathology said: Insitu and invasiave well differentiated carcinoma with mixed features of ductal and lobular differentiation. Do the words invasiave mean that it has characteristics to move?
Avatar f tn How old are you? This is an old post, so don't know if the person is still around, but there are many reasons for a woman not getting moist. In this case, the woman had never had sex yet, so she had no idea if she did have it if she would have responded by releasing vaginal secretions. I'm guessing she did. But as stated above, yeast infections can cause dryness. So can thyroid problems. So can hormonal problems.
Avatar f tn m reading to balance my sex hormones I can take vitamin d, vitamin b and fish oil. And there is also an estrogen dominance diet that I am trying to do as well. I can't tell what is the best way to cure it? It's been months of having this.
Avatar f tn One possible cause of cysts is too much estrogen. Besides the estrogen the ovary produces naturally, artificial ones are present in food, drugs, environmental toxins, etc., and it's believed to adversely affect ovary behavior. That's one of the reasons why birth control pills help many women to get ovaries to work properly again. There has also been an article stating that NSAIDs like Advil can prevent a normal ovulation follicle from breaking down, leading to cyst formation.
Avatar f tn I think that we all need to be careful with some of the herbal products in so far as we often don't know where our levels are of hormones. For instance, we can load up on products that stimulate estrogen (such as soy and other herbal preps) which can upset a balance needed between estrogen and progesterone. During menopause, both levels drop but, progesterone drops the most. So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more.
Avatar m tn Hi Guys, i'm basically 32, morbidly Obese, Height 5'7''/67inches, Weight 245 Pounds/110KG, Finally I went to see a renowned Endocrinologist of my City, he suggested me to do couple of blood tests, results are as below: ➢ Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) Test for Diabetes (Blood glucose) – 6.3 nmol/L = eAG of 134 ➢ 2-Hour Insulin Glucose Challenge Test Results: CPS-2HOURS (Cohas) = 5.06nmol/L Insulin (2HOURS) = >2089 pmol/L ➢ Insulin1 – 370 pmol/L ➢ CPS = 2.
Avatar f tn Very interesting. I take Advil around the clock for my Lupus/arthritis and migraines. But I have upped my Omega 3's in my diet and take a fish oil capsule daily. Nice to know there are some reasons for things.
Avatar f tn m open to new info if you have it. What is true is that the Omega 3 in flax seed oil is different from that in fish oil, and flax seed oil contains more than just omega 3 oils, whereas most fish oil is artificially purified to eliminate many other beneficial oils that would also be a fish.
1281900 tn?1320336402 DHA is a omega fatty acid but buy it by itself in pharmacies and NOT as FISH IOL becase fish iol has ETA as well and it may affect the baby. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid. It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed.

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago and have been going down hill since then. Test showed high testosterone, high estrogen, and darn near no progesterone. Prescribed est. and prog. and those are supposedly good now...but if I'm normal how come i feel AWEFUL? I'm exhausted, wake up 3 or 4 times throughout the night, am gaining a LOT of weight (30 lbs in the last 6 months) and while i admit i dont always eat healthy...there is NO way im eating enough to warrant that...
429647 tn?1249753429 only to find out that her cancer is estrogen postive and probably caused or in some part aided in the growth of her masses. This is a very touchy subject on this forum, and as much as I love and adore Mary, she and I are on opposite sides on this one. Flashes are horrid, I will agree that I have had a really tough time with them as well as the other symptoms of menopause....but, you know what....I am alive. Gather all the facts you can....best of luck.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar f tn Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic. Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar f tn Does it have a faint oder of like ocean or fish? If so it's a Vaginal bacteria .. call or tell you doc next time they will give you these pills too take for 7 days ... I had it after the 2nd day it went away but you have to take the pills for 7 so that way it's fully gone and fully clear.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar f tn I have been on the minivelle patch 0.375 and progesterone 100 mg and although I am able to sleep I have lost a significant amount of bone density since I started menopause 4 years ago. It has not helped with keeping me from having osteoporosis. Even with bhrt, we are all subject to cancers as Estrogen is Estrogen regardless if it is natural or not. You have to decide is it better to look great while you age or risk your health. I am going to try weaning off the hormones and see how I feel.
