Avatar f tn I am high risk for bp because birth control with estrogen gives me high bp but without the estrogen I am fine
Avatar f tn Going over your post again--exercise--if you are overweight or in the high range for your ideal BMI, then losing weight might actually lower how much med you have to take. Fat holds onto estrogen--estrogen blocks thyroid hormones--simplistic explanation. I should probably work out because I'm like a skinny overweight person--not much muscle.
Avatar f tn it can be associated with cirrhosis, or more directly as a result of portal hypertension. I don’t recall; have you had a biopsy yet? Be sure to mention this to your doctor, and get his/her take on it. As to when it disappears, it might when the liver disease is resolved, but I’m not sure of that. Best to check with the doctor again: http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn The most serious effect from high doses is that estrogen (the active ingredient in Incurin) may have a tumour-promoting effect in target organs with estrogen receptors, such as the mammary gland. The most dangerous effect of PPA (phenylpropanolamine) is hypertension.
1445110 tn?1388209711 In the peri-menopause, ovulation occurs irregularly and therefore progesterone is only produced sporatically. After menopause, estrogen levels tend to drop too which helps to reduce the risk of hyperplasia, although continued production in adipose tissue, or excess estrogen in hormone replacement therapy can still lead to hyperplasia. If there are any atypical cells in the biopsy specimen, hysterectomy is usually recommended.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with hypertension. They say my hypertension, is not linked to the way i feel. At times i just feel like everything gets too much, too much going on at once, and would rather not live. Please, i need to know what is wrong with me, ive tried changing my diet and lifestyle, but it seems to make it worse. I snap easily, and my best friend says that my mood changes rapidly, and at times i dont seem myself. HELP, i am worried!!!
Avatar n tn With a truly sudden elevation, I would be looking for something else in my life that changed around the same time or right before my blood pressure went up. If you are female, estrogen replacement therapy can make your blood pressure go up; estrogen acts like a salt. Which brings us to dietary changes, are you suddenly getting a lot more salt in your diet. Also, some herbs, like licorice, can trigger a rise in blood pressure. Stress, anxiety, or physical pain can do the same thing.
Avatar n tn The CDH could also be secondary to trauma, raised intracranial hypertension, high blood pressure, temporal arteritis etc. Hence all these need to be ruled out. If the headache lasts for less than 4 hours then it could be a chronic cluster headache or a chronic paroxysmal hemicranias. If it lasts for more than 4 hours it could be chronic tension headache, chronic migraine or altered migraine or hemicranias continua. Indomethacin is the drug of choice in hemicranias continua.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar n tn The third reason could be severe acidity with or without GERD. The CDH could also be secondary to trauma, raised intracranial hypertension, high blood pressure, temporal arteritis etc. If the headache lasts for less than 4 hours then it could be a chronic cluster headache or a chronic paroxysmal hemicranias. 1488429 tn?1289222119 A thyroid disorder can be the underlying cause effecting the sense of smell. Also, some medicaions. But you should see your doctor as the condition can be a serious health condition. A smell disorder can be an early sign of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, or multiple sclerosis. It can also accompany or be a sign of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and malnutrition. Hope this helps. Thanks for your question, and if you have any followup questions you are welcome to respond.
1471362 tn?1286785382 I wonder if I should have estrogen and other female hormones checked. I wonder if I have developed MS (but I have no pain at all. just an occasional headache)..I just don't know what to do and my doctors just keep telling me it's vertigo and anxiety. In fact I am anxious at times just due to the overall not feeling well...I don't know how much longer I can live like this. Please offer some advice or just something that I can take to my doctors and ask them to check!!!!
Avatar n tn 2011 dizziness (feeling unsteady - not room spinning type) with sudden onset hypertension, tachycardia and by Feb. 2011 with continued symptoms - flushing on left side of face only, no sweating. Seems I quit sweating in the past year. My BP ranges as high as 210/140 to as low as 88/58 all in the same 24 hour period. HR from 58 to 145 all in same 24 hour period. Started in Nov and ruled out vision with eye doc, ruled out sinus infection, so then to general doc, referred to cardiologist.
296340 tn?1336164001 Many of the herbs that increase fertility have been found to possess natural forms of estrogen and other pharmaceuticals routinely used to treat pregnancy issues in synthetic forms. The names of some of these herbs, like black cohosh, are fairly familiar, but others, like red clover and chasteberry are less well known. How do Fertility Herbs Work?
415098 tn?1214856836 A large percentage of headaches among women are caused by ever-fluctuating estrogen during menstrual years. This can occur prior to, or even during midcycle menstruation. Not all headaches require medical attention, and many respond with simple analgesia (painkillers) such as paracetamol/acetaminophen or members of the NSAID class (such as aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen). If it migraine too, these drugs can help reduce it if taken at the beginning of the attack.
Avatar n tn I do have a history of hypertension and take medication for it. I also am on a hormone patch since my surgery. I just overall do not feel good. I work as a dispatcher and work nights...it's all I can do to stay here tonight because I feel so badly. Can you suggest anything?
