Avatar f tn In addition she drank Powerade Zero which contains suclarose along with some other diet drinks on a regular basis and also chewed quite a bit of Stride gum with sorbitol and aspartame. She quite the diet drinks when she got sick and switched to a sugared gum - Big Red for two weeks but saw no improvement so she went back to drinking 1 diet drink per day and limited the Stride gum to 3 pieces per day and started back up on the birth control pill.
Avatar m tn Excess tarter causes red, swollen, and receding gums (which can be made worse by low estrogen), hence the old saying “getting long in the tooth.” Gum recession isn’t always a reliable sign of hypothyroidism, however, as gum disease due to hypothyroidism can also cause gums to become swollen and overdeveloped and extend down over the teeth instead of receding." - From the book "The Women's Guide to Thyroid Health: Understanding Symptoms" by Kathryn R.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.

587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar n tn Having one ovary did put me in estrogen dominance, which was told to me by my new obgyn. Estrogen dominance causes fibroids... after my ovary was removed I was told I had a small fibroid... the size of a gum ball... it was left in because I was told it would give me no issues. After my ovary was removed it had a growth spurt and now one year later it has grown to 11 x 9cm and hurts a great deal.
Avatar m tn The surgery did provide pain relief from the painful periods, and constant fibroids, but 9 days after my surgery I started with a major depression that has not gone away. After having my bloodwork taken, my thyroid was hypo active and that was corrected. My estrogen was found to be at 0 which meant I was in menopause and we did not figure that out until at least 6 months after the surgery. The depression has been very bad.

973741 tn?1342342773 Back when I did IVF, they would turn off all my natural estrogen production with a drug, and when they did that, I would feel very draggy, exhausted and grumpy, and like I didn't want to see friends or go out and have people see me like that. Then the clinic would give me massive doses of estrogen to stimulate egg production, and it would make me very cheerful and upbeat. When I commented about how good I felt, my doctor commented, "Estrogen is a powerful drug.

Avatar m tn Hi, I picked up chewed gum from the floor that belonged to someone suffering from HIV. I have a fresh cut from the cold that split my finger open and the gum was stuck on it for a couple of seconds, what is the risk? I am absolutely terrified.

Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.

Avatar f tn I did a hormonal imbalance test and it turns out my estrogen level is at 203. The doctor told me to eat healthy, no carbs and no sugar. They also say irregular period is due to stress. I did my research stress leads to high estrogen. So I am guessing that is what causing it to be high. But I also read eating foods with lots of vitamins (ex. Selenium. Melatonin, vitamin b, magnesium, etc.) helps reduce it. But all this time I've been on a diet and I have been eating all of that.
Avatar n tn I have just been prescribed vaginal estrogen cream to relieve some symptoms that I've had. (irriatated feeling, cramps, pinching feeling) Does anyone have any feedback on this cream? Kind of concerned as breast cancer runs in my family and not sure about using this cream. Has anyone tried anything more natural?
