1466208 tn?1286663962 Now, I am already a pretty healthy eater, but Im reluctant to take this step when going to a totally wheat free diet can be VERY expensive. Anyone have an opinion? Know anything? Personal experiences? Also, my dr has discussed the possibility of Lupron with me. How about that? Personal experiences? advice? Thank you guys so much for any help you may have, really means very much!
492936 tn?1244651570 I was wondering if anyone here has heard of the fertility diet and if you have gotten the book or followed it, gotten pregnant with its aid or not? I have an IVF cycle starting up next month and want to increase my odds. First one failed.
Avatar f tn On another note, think blood tests are to be done day 18-21 for best snapshot of estrogen/progesterone balance. FYI - would also follow a whole food type diet (meats, nuts, fruits, veg) to help maximize your improvement. Eliminating grains, dairy, soy, sugars will do wonders to help minimize some of the symptoms while you're working through the right path for you.
Avatar n tn Meaning specifically Free T4 and Free T3 in addition to TSH? If so please post the results along with reference ranges. Have you had ALL of your sex hormones tested including testosterone? Testosterone is very important for females as well as males. Testosterone also converts into estrogen. All three primacy sex hormones all interact with one another and having them in the proper balance at the proper time is very important and complex. Do you have any menstrual cycle irregularities?
Avatar m tn I just have the feeling). Sometimes my stomach will feel really aggravated. I eat gluten free and am very careful with my diet. Also, I eat a lot of natural and organic foods. I am not pregnant..I just had my "time of the month." This has been going on for about 4-5 months. Any suggestions on what it could be or even ways to help it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn 4-17 TSH 1.86 (0.5-4.5) FT4 1.00 (0.8-1.8) FT3 2.8 (2.3-4.2) 12-14 TSH 1.62 same FT4 1.1 same FT3 2.7 same RT3 17 (8-25) I have one in between from another doc with a TSH of 1.6 and FT4 1.0 -- I believe its the same range since its the same lab, but I can't put my hands on the report at the moment.
1337734 tn?1336234591 Terry Wahls clains to have put her MS to sleep using diet. The keys to her specific diet are typically available for sale on her web site. THis always makes me leary. Our bodies are at war, albeit with themselves. The stronger we can make our bodies, the more able they will be to fight the fight. THis includes a well balanced diet.
Male My doctor has told me I need to move to a gluten-free diet....yikes!!! All my life (and that is a very long time--ha ha) I have generally eaten whatever I wanted to eat. This change to a GF diet seems like such a huge mountain to climb. I know there are many others who have had to change to a GF diet after a lifetime of eating what they wanted with little or no restrictions. How does a person even get started on a change like this? What do you do when you go out to eat at a restaurant?
1156486 tn?1262394803 I will start a Iodine free diet next week in preparation for my Iodine131 treatment (for Jan. 21st) and would like to find the thyca cookbook. I did not see it on the thyca wedsite. I want to make sure that I do everything possible to insure good results from the treatment so I would appreciate finding recipes. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Is it possible/ recommended to do a gluten free diet crossed with a calorie controlled diet? I was thinking of cutting carbs also but if I have to have them they have to be gluten free? Is that recommended ? Or is there any other way to do it?
Avatar f tn Now I am drug free, symptom free. I just wear clay against my breast every night. I jog. I feel great, rarely ill. I am two pounds heavier than before I started Prednisone. The thing with me that is different compared lots of women with this disease is that all my trouble was local to the breast. I never had joint trouble, weakness or any other inflamation in the body. I contined to jog through the disease (but I had to hold my bandaged breast against my chest the whole time).
Avatar f tn And was that for Free T4 or Total T4? Have you had a free T3 test?
Avatar f tn Has any one had success with a gluten free casine free diet? We are about to try it under the support from an integrated medical doctor and dietitian. Does any one have any good result stories or otherwise?
962776 tn?1264792889 Hello, I had similar symptoms to you years ago and with the help of a very astitute Gynecologist, it was determined that my hormones were extremely out of balance (particularly DHEA, testosterone were severely lacking) and my estrogen was spiking intermittently (estrogen dominance). I would ask, has anyone tested your hormones? As well, have they tested your hormone metabolism? Metabolic syndrome is yet another possibility. Finally perhaps even gluten intolerance.
Avatar f tn I had another hormone blood panel done and it revealed I was still low in estrogen. The Dr inserted an estrogen “booster” pellet at this time. After another week I told the Dr I was still soooooo tired and had gained another couple pounds. She increased my Armour Thyroid to 2 gr (120mgs) per day. A couple days after the Armour increase, I didn’t feel “quite” as tired. Instead of wanting to sleep ALL day, I now could get by with three, two hour naps per day!
Avatar m tn Another factor that can reduce the testo levels in obese persons is the high level of estrogen, which is also used by the brain to assess the teso level. You could probably check the estrogen and SHBG levels also. In any case, I do not feel you need to go for TRT, only my opinion, you should check up with your doctor.
Avatar f tn It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect. It works by balancing your hormones naturally with your pituitary gland. It had natural estrogen properties. All you do is take one capsule a day and your skin will be clear. The only problem with it is if you are on birth control it can make it less effective since it can alter your hormones. You can search vitex fruit and acne and get more info on it.
Avatar f tn Causes of estrogen dominance include birth control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, stress, poor diet, obesity, xenoestrogens (excess estrogens found in anything from pesticides to plastics). Estrogen dominance can affect conversion of T4 to T3 as well as increase thyroxine binding globulin (if there is too much thyroid binding globulin, thyroid hormone is bound and unable to get into the cells).
1638247 tn?1300467050 I've always been heavier than everyone else, even though I ate less and exercised more. But from the age of eight onward, I began gaining a lot of weight for no reason. No matter how little I eat or rigorously I work out, my body won't respond to diet or exercise. At one point, I was living on 200 cals a day while strength training and arobics morning, noon, and night.
1267764 tn?1302436340 My doctor recommended that I continue my progesterone but he said to discontinue the estrogen, does that sound correct? Also any recommendations on diet changes?

Avatar f tn m planning to conceive in 2 years from now. I have read that by modifying diet one can completely reverse PCOS. I have following questions about diet: 1. Can I consume soy products? Is it suggested to consume soy products thrice every week. (I'm not sure about this. Somewhere I have read that soy has protein and for PCOS one should combine carbohydrate with protein, so it is good to have soy products.
Avatar f tn If a complete hormone panel was not done, ask for estrogen, progesterone, total testosterone, free testosterone, FSH. Also have them check your thyroid - TSH, free T3, free T4, and TPO and Tg antibodies. Keep in mind that with endometriosis, you may have to be careful to not get too much estrogen as it can fuel growth of any remaining implants. Some practitioners prescribe a progestin along with estrogen for their endo patients who have had hysterectomies to help keep the endo under control.
