Avatar f tn ve been putting thought into what Birth Control method I want to use after baby gets here. Ive heard a lot of different suggestions, but i'd like to read some personel experiences? Much thanks.
Avatar f tn I have some info on my profile about breastfeeding as a form of birth control. It's in my 'journals'. My midwife told me that estrogen free birth control is the safest while nursing. Estrogen can dry up your milk and if it doesn't, might cause issues with baby. Estrogen free versions include the paragaurd iud, the depo shot, and the 'mini pill' (progesterone only daily pill). I'd definitely decide what you want to do before baby comes!
7677085 tn?1395374075 I was on what they call the mini pill after having my first (the estrogen free birth control pill). It's a good option but I'm terrified I'll forget and get pregnant before we're ready. I'm not the most patient person and two is plenty for now.
Avatar f tn I had the same problem. I had bad hormonal breakouts. If I was in birth control or pregnant I didn't have a problem. I had other side effects from birth control so I decided to get off of it and the acne returned. I tried everything OTC for acne. I even tried proactive and it did nothing for me. So then I realized it was related to my hormones. I found a natural treatment. It's an herb called vitex fruit. It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone I have never been on birth control but after having my baby I am planning on going on BC. Any advice on it? Which works best for you ? Which birth control didn't work for you as in why you didn't like it? Any advice would be helpful Thank you.

Avatar f tn My tests show I have low estrogen (also taking birth control pill), decreased cortisol in the morning and increased at night and elevated DHEA. I'm just baffled as to why I am sweating so much. Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it?
938326 tn?1300878804 ) I will have 4 children altogether when this one is born, 13, 12, 1, and newest. I want to go on some kind of birth control that wont have long lasting effects if I decide again to have another. I am unable to take the pill. I have read some negative things on the shots and on the rings. I had an IUD in for 6 years in between my oldest children, but wanted to avoid that route again. Any suggestions? I just want to be prepared, and avoid another pregnancy so soon.

Avatar f tn I think I'm going with the hormone free iud. Hormonal birth control makes me really b*tchy and the shot just made me put on weight. Plus there aren'ta ton of estrogen free birth control options and that's what can cause you to 'dry up' your milk is the estrogen.

Avatar n tn I am about to visit the gyno for the first time to start routine visits as well as get some sort of contraception/birth control. I was wondering as someone who has never taken any or had any, what would be the best kind to try first as a beginner? Thank you!
Avatar f tn In America, so long as you have insurance, birth control pills are now free. Some states allow minors 12 and up to go to doctors alone. Check your state laws and/or check with your local Planned Parenthood.
