15695260 tn?1549593113 Recent research has proven one risk for our children to have Autism and that is high levels of estrogen in the womb. For a very long time, the cause has been widely unknown and that this factors in is an important development in autism research. Prior studies had already implicated higher uterine concentrations of male sex hormones -- androgens -- in increasing the odds and now researchers and doctors have more information to better understand autism.
Avatar f tn Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it? I finally feel abit better but I don't want to move cause moving equals hot flashes/sweating.
Avatar f tn And if it is so low that you have these types of issues, then you can perhaps take BC with estrogen and bump back up to get regulated again. I had the opposite for a good while of TOO much production of estrogen which acted like a natural birth control pill, infrequent periods, melisma on the face (lovely), etc. That was a bummer. But definitely, out of nowhere, hormones can get out of whack. My estrogen righted itself without intervention but sometimes there is some needed.
Avatar n tn t take estrogen any more. Hot flashes out the wazoo! Is there anything I can do to decrease the flushing? I take Fosomax, Allegra D, and a simvastatin.
Avatar f tn My RE always made a big deal about my lining being too thin. I conceived my son with a thin lining and IUI. I think it usually measured around 6 maybe 7 at the most. When I was ready to start trying for my second child, I went back to the RE. He was so focused on my lining he was messing up my cycles. He kept giving me estrogen to thicken my and the estrogen was keeping my follies from developing. After a couple of months of this, I told him enough was enough..
890192 tn?1241184417 Melasma is marked by brown patches that worsen in response to increases of the hormone estrogen, such as during pregnancy or with the use of birth control pills, and increased sun exposure. Treatments usually recommended are bleaching agents( hydroquinone with 1% hydrocortisone cream or tretinoin) , superficial chemical peels, microdermabrasion and even laser therapy. Have this evaluated by your dermatologist for the management suited for you. Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn It usually affects just one side of the face. If it persists, have this evaluated further for proper management. Direct clinical examination and complete neurological examination will rule out any nerve-problems or infection. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I am taking Aromasin to cut the estrogen production that all three (!) of my cancers depended on. Yes, there's pain from the Aromasin, but it's much better now that I take it only every other day. My joints hurt, in my hands, shoulders, feet, knees. The morning is the worst time. Within an hour I feel almost normal, and I feel pretty good for the rest of the day. Aromasin is in clinical trials for ovarian cancer right now, but I'm not waiting for the results.
Avatar n tn Is it common for the cancers to be estrogen positive in one breast and estrogen negative in the other
Avatar f tn Goodman for taking the time to answer my question. I was just wondering though could the estrogen replacement cause a recurrence and do they usually test these borderline tumors for estrogen receptive? Thanks for your time.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken over-the-counter estrogen? Did you find that it worked just as good as the prescription estrogen, better or worse? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i have just gave blood samples for SHBG but i dont know if the testosterone test is for bio-available or not, my doc not up to scratch on this hormone thing and my endo is all for keeping ;me in the dark, i wish i knew more about the whole system. I am on 50mg of DHEA DAILY which makes no difference at all and on fluoextine 30 mg and the testosterone patch but nothing seems to make any difference. moods are all over the place and depression can set in occassionally as nothing seems to change.
587083 tn?1327120262 Maybe the natural things I ate, containing estrogen is the cause that I might have cancer? Also what about the underarm deodorant that contains aluminum, could this cause cancer? My mother is 93 and never had breast cancer but my sister had it last year, was operated went for 6 weeks on radiotherapy and now she is doing just fine. Please give an answer to my question.Thank you.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar n tn Yes, it's normal. The lower estrogen pills usually cause break through bleeding.
Avatar n tn However uncommon, lithotomy position during vaginal hysterectomy can also be the culprit. Please consult a neurologist for the treatment . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
