721523 tn?1331581802 Thank you for your answer. I am 37. I have had some hotflashes since surgery and my OBGYN gave me estrogen patches. They have helped the hotflashes. The PMS ia ma referring to is the emotional stuff. I still have 3 days of incredable grumpyness and then 2 days of crying. This is the exact same pattern as when I had a period. I wonder if the estrogen patches are making this worse?
216278 tn?1308861082 • Black Cohosh Root Used to promote healthy menstruation and to treat symptoms of PMS, menstrual cramps, dysmenorrhea, mood swings and menopause. Its ability to mimic estrogen makes it a valuable female supplement. Short-term, daily use may help stimulate menstrual flow in women suffering from dysmenorrhea. In menstruating women, take during the follicular phase (first half) of your cycle. Do not take this supplement if pregnant or breastfeeding.

759027 tn?1234208801 My GYN gave me estrogen to take for 21 days to build up a lining Im not really sure if that will help since my Estrogen levels are fine but I guess I could try it and see I took the first pill today. I was wondering if anyone knows whats going on? I mean my period is really late and to have all the symptoms of it comming and then the red CM(I had to collect it it would not come out on my underware) and then nothing its like I had a period with no bleeding.
Avatar f tn I had really long cycles for over a year in which I had periods every 3 to 4 months BUT, lucky me, got pms symptoms starting at three weeks in and they lasted the whole time. What a joy, right? What my issue was included a slow thyroid which they call hypothyroidism and also a hormone imbalance in which I actually produced TOO MUCH estrogen. Those combined were deadly to my cycle. For me, they self regulated out of nowhere.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis for 6 years now and take Armour thyroid. Last year I saw a naturopathic holistic doctor to find relief from PMS symptoms and general fatigue and irritability, and acne. He prescribed me a natural progesterone cream to be used between days 14-28 of my cycle. It has made a huge difference in my energy levels, mood, skin clarity and elasticity, has even helped me lose some weight.
358971 tn?1330888975 I am sorry that you are not having luck right now, but I am sure it is just PMS.. Before I was pregnant when I was going through PMS I would get really bloated and look like I had gained weight.... I wish you the best.....
529546 tn?1213384699 The pill that helps induce your period is Provera and it is a progesterone pill not estrogen. It helps a lot of people get started it comes in 10mg usually and taken for 10 days. I myself was not successful with it.
Avatar m tn IVF #2 I just had 5 day transfer this morning. Already, I feel pms symptoms. Whats more I felt PMS symptoms BEFORE the embryo transfer so there was no way my body even gave it a chance! Its fustrating. I almost feel like my body rejects the embryo. The difference this time is we got a really great blast , and all together transferred 3. My hopes were dashed with twinges in my stomach from what I recognize as the impending doom of AF. Its like my body doesn't let me for once get excited.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the advice! I will try it.
Avatar f tn To induce my period, however, I have been taking large doses of Vitamin C (3,000mg-4,000mg) for the past week (to help increase estrogen levels). Could this excess estrogen be causing some of the pain, or could it be the stress, because I've read that estrogen dominance can lead to abdominal bloating, excess white discharge, and breast changes as well. I have never had bad PMS symptoms before this.
Avatar n tn The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy. Of course I am trying to avoid that situation. My main symptoms for treatment are anxiety and vaginal dryness. I was wondering if anybody has had a similar condition/suggestion and whether they found the estrogen cream was okay for them.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome. Well, I went through this same thing. My periods were every 3 to 4 months! Ugh, it was brutal. I had pms on schedule after three weeks post the first day of my period and it would last until I got my period down the road. Talk about annoying!! That's a long time to have PMS. For me, it was a twofold problem interrelated. I had a slow working thyroid as well as I produced too much estrogen.
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar n tn I have read that too much estrogen causes fibroids, and that hormones can contribute to anxiety. (PMS) I also started to have panic attacks a few months after starting the BC pill and have wondered if that was the cause.
410850 tn?1229178711 I'm wondering if there is a correlation (sp?). Interesting that this is both are 3rd time 'round. I hope there is none. When Foresee mentioned estrogen good for liver....just don't know........anyway, at least you're doing really well this go 'round. I too am kinda glad that I didn't have to deal with pms...as well as tx. Thinkin' about it...i guess this summer I went through menopause.....ah well...what's next?
1904182 tn?1363253974 Low levels of calcium for woman with PMS is solid, less for magnesium, You should be taking both of these for bone health. Vitamin B6 (50 mg / day) combined with Chaste Tree (Vitex Fruit) take Nature’s Way Vitex, 400 mg a day. Try for 3-months. Anxiety, fluid retention, depression Black cohosh (40 mg 2x / day) is helpful in relieving anxiety and mood. Gingko (80 mg 2x a day from day 15 of cycle thru day 5 of next cycle) can help fluid retention. Try St.
Avatar f tn And even though I will not have a cycle, I still go through PMS. I usually start PMS around the week before it shoud be time for me to start and it will last until I actually have my period. So I live daily with headaches, breast tenderness and cramping. My question is: Is there any other medicine I can be placed on to get my hormones in balance? I am not a canidate for birth control pills because of my age and the fact that I smoke (apprx 5 cigs a day).
1638247 tn?1300467050 I've always been heavier than everyone else, even though I ate less and exercised more. But from the age of eight onward, I began gaining a lot of weight for no reason. No matter how little I eat or rigorously I work out, my body won't respond to diet or exercise. At one point, I was living on 200 cals a day while strength training and arobics morning, noon, and night.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Sorry you are feeling so miserable. The reason you don't need progesterone is because that hormone basically protects the uterine lining from overgrowth. Since you don't have a uterus, no need for that. Now this is not to say you don't need estrogen. I too had a total hysto, both ovaries and an appendectomy on the 15th of Oct. I was a psycho too. For 2 weeks after my surgery, I couldn't stand myself. I cried, got mad had flashes...ugh. I was miserable.
Avatar f tn s because my thyroid was working slowly and I also naturally produced too much estrogen. I would get pms at about 3 weeks in and pms symptoms are similar to early pregnancy symptoms. I would always think I was pregnant but was not. So, this very well could be going on. Again, blood work would tell you. You should see your doctor for determination.
1381173 tn?1279170306 I am waiting but I cannot stop trying to evaluate each symptom to see whether it is PMS or Early Pregnancy. Normal PMS is sore/tender breasts the week prior to af (this week) but yet nothing just enlarged. Headache all week. Backache all week, but normally this just happens the day before my period. I was really dizzy today and then this is the 3rd day in a row I have come home from work and napped. Does anyone have any suggestions or guesses if it is PMS or Early Pregnancy?
12975971 tn?1428009678 My estrogen was low, but my Progesterone (the happy hormone) was even lower in ratio to Estrogen. Progesterone can convert into Estrogen if your body needs it. She also gave me a homeopathic remedy that fit my symptoms. I no longer feel depressed and am no longer crying at the drop of a hat. It took a few weeks to a month. I am under stress even today, and it continues to work for me. I am in late stage peri at 53 years old.
Avatar f tn I started getting anxiety back in April and was put on Prozac which threw my anxiety up to 99 and was tried on Mirtazipine also which also did not agree. I had been on Prozac some years back for mild depression with success but this time i was in a right state. These antidepressants seemed to upset my system and the Dr agreed as i got the most awful side effects going.
Avatar f tn Estrogen does tend to bind thyroid hormone. I don't know when you are taking your thyroid medication and applying your estrogen gel. But you should not do those at the same time or too close together. And you may just need to tweak dosages (a little more thyroid med or a little less estrogel). Hope you feel better soon.
