1002364 tn?1250107254 Do you have PCOS? Why were you asking? PCOS tends to have estrogen dominance but only cause you may not ovulate then you never get the progesterone you need becasue you did not ovulate. If you have had an US to show and blood work to show you are ovulating it is usually not an issue of estrogen dominance though. Your BBT will show if it is a problem though and if you are Oing or not. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been diagnosised with this disorder for several years based on my symptoms. (Irregular periods, extra hair growth, over weight) But, I have never had any tests that I am aware of like a blood test. I have a seizure disorder and my seizures seem to follow the cycles of my periods. I am on medication for them but they aren't controlled during these times of the month. I have 2 cycles a month, with one heavier than the other. I also have break through spotting throughout the month.
Avatar m tn Poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Your ovum basically swell inside your ovaries. This happens normally with ovulation, but one egg at a time on either side. PCOS happens with multiple eggs at once, and they aren't released. It has a lot to do with estrogen production in your ovaries and hormones in your thyroid gland too. PCOS has symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, irritability, hairiness... Lol. It can be difficult to conceive sometimes, and many women with PCOS have irregular periods.
Avatar f tn Hi there, There is no "one size fits all" for either endo or PCOS. For many years, I had all of the symptoms of PCOS and then developed much more painful endometriosis. Without having a laparascopy to diagnose endo, I think a lot of what separates the two is the pain. Endo is more painful for most than PCOS. Have you started on a progestin-related hormonal therapy? Endo shrinks with progestin and grows with estrogen.
215752 tn?1278004771 I was only on progesterone for about 12 weeks. I didn't have pcos though, our reason was "unexplained infertility".

823438 tn?1238591223 I have been to the doctor and had the ultrasounds done to look into the whole PCOS thing, but from my research, PCOS cause light periods when they do come. not the ones that last nearly 3 weeks and still going.
Avatar f tn Metformin is used often when a woman has pcos and leads to better fertility for example. Work with your doctors but I would feel confident that what they treat you with is safe and you will go on to have babies. Best of luck to you!

Avatar f tn I love milk but recently I came to know that now a days hen, cows and buffaloes are being injected with hormones and consuming their milk will worsen the condition of hormonal imbalance in PCOS. Moreover milk is acidic and has a ph below 7 and hence not good for PCOS. However, if I leave milk I'm afradi that being a vegetarian I might miss on certain essential nutrients. Please suggest. 3. Can I consume fruits with high sugar content? As high blood sugar is associated with PCOS.
988694 tn?1332359479 The metabolism of estrogen and androgenic hormones such as testosterone, androstenedione and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) is impaired in those with PCOS. Women with PCOS have also low progesterone and estrogen cream will make this condition even worse promoting a condition called estrogen dominance when too much estrogen is not balanced by sufficient amount of progesterone. Estrogen dominance also promotes insulin resistance and supresses the thyroid function.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar f tn O.k. so I did not have a period for two months and I took a pregnancy test and both times it came up negative. Avatar f tn There is a natural way to boost ur estrogen levels and its called chasteberry vitex. It's a natural herb and it can be what ur looking for. Go ahead and look it up and see what u think. I just statrted to take it myself becuse i too have low estrogen. I did research on it and i liked what it said and what it can do for me so i'm going to give it a try.
Avatar f tn Too bad you were not tested for estrogen and progesterone levels-not so much for deficiencies but to see if your P/E ratio is within normal values. I think 200-300 P to 1 E if my memory serves me right. Can you post any additional symptoms that you may be experiencing?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with pcos about a year ago. I've been in pain for about 5 days now with a cyst on my ovary. I've also noticed a watery like nonsmell clear/white discharge that sometimes soaks my panties and my pants. Also like I peed myself. Just wondering if this happens with pcos? I'm waiting for an appointment to see my doctor now. Is it something I should be seen for asap? It's so gross and I really have no idea what to do thanks for any advice.
Avatar n tn As for hysterectomy and influence on hormones...I have no idea. Perhaps it's the influence on your facial hair. If not, I would think a look into Testosterone & Dhea-s (or perhaps Testosterone alone would suffice.) P.C.O.S. can cause hirsutism (and a number of women who suffer hypothyroidism, also have PCOS). As can adrenal problems. I would ask your doctor to take a look into your hormones (Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone...), if only to put your mind at ease.
Avatar f tn I was told that I have PCOS by my obgyn, I she informed me that the only way to get rid of these cysts is to take birth control pills. I have been placed on the high and low estrogen pill. My question is that my husband & I are ready to have a child and it's creating a problem. She mention that after 5-6 month the cysts should go away. Even if they go away would I be able to have children or not? By taking those pill they make me sick. Is their any hope for me!!!
