Avatar n tn You might call your veterinarian and ask about safe and approved arthritis medications for dogs. A good exam should also be done, along with blood work and a urinalysis to help determine what is ailing her. When was her last physical? Frequent urination can be a sign of anything from metabolic type of diseases to urinary tract infections to bladder stones. Although many of these symptoms are common for older pets, they are also signs that something is wrong and needs to be addressed.
Avatar m tn re basically losing the ability to make estrogen, which is needed for muscle development. If you deprive them of that estrogen too early in their life, they lose muscle tone, or don't develop enough muscle tone, in their bladder, and subsequently, leak all over the place. **** (*What the internet says: Urinary incontinence may be caused by an underdeveloped urinary system or may arise as a part of the aging process.
Avatar f tn Natural HRT will prove to be quite helpful for health and longevity in previously spayed female dogs. The PAAWS Vitamin product alone in the canine lifetime 13 year study found an increase in healthy years by up to 30% which equals 2-4 extra healthy years. Adding in natural HRT would increase this even further.
1771664 tn?1317686285 The thing is, with herbs and dogs....some herbs which are fine for humans to take can be toxic for dogs. So the best plan if you want to go down that route is seek advice (and after all the checks etc have been done with your regular vet -which Ghilly mentioned)....get a consultation with a Herbal Vet or even a Homeopathic Vet. I'll just mention one thing which may be of some help while you sort out what might be causing this. DOGGY DIAPERS! They are wonderful....
392430 tn?1382904781 Well it is a cyst but I am going t ocontinue the Lupron until Sunday am and go back for more bloodwork to check estrogen levels (today my estrogen was 276...is that really high?) and another u/s to see if the cyst will resolve itself. I had been telling DH that my side was feeling twingey for the past few days.
1927233 tn?1326670387 Good question I am in the same boat as you and I was told to have my AM cortisol tested, free T3 and free T4. I have had this for 23yrs and I really feel that is what it is and I can't come off the pill either for the same reasons as you.
594914 tn?1245263684 Hey what is the purpose for estrogen meds. My Doc put me on them and he said he wants me to start them next month if my cycle comes.... What good does this do for me?
Avatar n tn m not waiting for the results. It cuts estrogen production by 95%. All three of my cancers were estrogen-dependent. Gimme that Aromasin!
Avatar n tn Is it common for the cancers to be estrogen positive in one breast and estrogen negative in the other
Avatar f tn How is your estrogen and your DHEA-S? When your doc tests your testosterone, does he test bio-available testosterone, and does the doc test sex binding hormones, LH, FSH, to get the entire pic of your androgens and how your body is using the testosterone? Estrogen and testosterone and very very closely related - so it could be that your testosterone is simply converting over to estrogen instead of staying as testosterone. This cannot be controlled really - it just happens.
587083 tn?1327120262 With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause. After my diagnosis of breast cancer (estrogen positive) my oncologist recommended I avoid soy products because even the weak phytoestrogens may stimulate cancer cells. Research is not conclusive but better to be safe. As the addage goes, 'all things in moderation.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar m tn Hi. First of all, well done for adopting this big girl ... particularly as she has problems. Great Dane's are fabulous dogs. She is very young still, and this could certainly be associated with her surgery. Who did the surgery? Do you know? It would be worth consulting the vet that did it, just to find out how the surgery went and whether there were any complications.
1357161 tn?1295553740 I have two 19 month old Siberian Huskies and they are both house broken and crated when no one is home. The one will urinate in her crate every time she is in there, even if it is only for a couple hours. She will go all day in the house without going out and never an accident, but will always urinate in her crate. They are crate side by side so it's not like she is alone. Any suggestions on what I can try? I get so tired of washing her bedding day after day.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
Avatar n tn Are you sure that your dog is just peeing or are you finding wet spots? It can likely be estrogen. That is the issue with our female spayed lab and have seen it in many other breeds. Urinary incontinence is a common disorder of older female dogs, as many as 20% of neutered ******* develop it at some point in their lives. The reason is usually urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence (USMI).
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
404837 tn?1290609027 it is thinning the lining. Anyway, I went back for a second u/s and it has thickened a bit...however he gave me estrogen, Enjuvia, at .625 mg. He told me to take it until I get my surge. Which will probably be about 3 days. Is estrogen safe and has anybody ever had to do this?
274158 tn?1276347187 Not towards me. Just other dogs......I thought he was showing aggression towards my daughter, but he was just trying to sniff her crotch! He is gross! I guess that's what dogs do! But, no agression towards us humans, just dogs, which isn't fun....
