Avatar f tn i think they wouldhelp my mood im on 2 antidepressants and xanax for anxiety....i have sexual problems too which i never used to have..
Avatar n tn Hi, One lady I know stated that sometimes she was estrogen predominant and adding more estrogen causes her to have anxiety and panic attack Your level of estrogen probably fluctuates to the high side so being on more estrogen can cause anxiety or panic attack. You are at perimenopausal stage and your hormone still fluctuates a lot. One blood test does not really indicate you estrogen stays that way. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I thought I would lose my mind til I got my hormones checked and was very estrogen dominate, very low progesterone. I am finally sleeping again, anxiety is much better since taking bioidentical progesterone. It took some time to get my levels up so be patient. I had to go off the progesterone earlier this year for several months due to some abnormal other hormones levels and all my anxiety, sleep issues came back.....
1258539 tn?1293840202 I take it in an estrogen form. My estrogen absorption is not doing very well. My level is now at 18. I have severe anxiety/depression/depersonalization. I went to my doctor yesterday and he said that my numbers for estrogen are low because I have so much anxiety/depression that my body is using up the estrogen where it shouldn't be. He said that if I got my anxiety/depression under control then my estorgen would go where it should. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Avatar n tn The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy. Of course I am trying to avoid that situation. My main symptoms for treatment are anxiety and vaginal dryness. I was wondering if anybody has had a similar condition/suggestion and whether they found the estrogen cream was okay for them.
529546 tn?1213384699 I already have anxiety issues but the extra boost of estrogen makes it even worse. So while in theory it sounds nice to take pill that will jump start things i dont really know it its worth me getting anxiety attacks over.
Avatar n tn This is going to sound like a ridiculous question, but it's bothering me. I'm a 40-year old male and mistakenly took two female hormone pills (unsure of the exact active ingredients, perhaps estrogen) thinking they were vitamins. I don't know the exact dosage. I'm very concerned I'm going to have some permanent effects from this -- decreased testicle size, or breasts, or something -- and it's freaking me out. What can I expect? Have I done serious damage to my body.
440728 tn?1234645302 No periods for 3 mths and my blood tests show post meno ranges. But I suffer with the most awful anxiety that comes out of the blue for no reason and is crippling. It is usually on the days that I also have hot flashes and night sweats, palpitations, mood swings etc. but nevertheless I just cannot seem to control it using anything. Tabs, relaxation, hypnosis etc you name it I've tried it. It's not like normal anxiety eg. exam nerves.
Avatar f tn a lot of clinics like to control your cycle so they can know exactly when the transfer is going to happen and also because the estrogen thickens the uterus lining ready for implantation. I am on it at the moment and will stay on it for 17 days past my transfer. it is usually the progesterone that you are on for the first 6 weeks of pregnancy ..
Avatar n tn m curious..how did you get tested for estrogen levels? What estrogen are you taking? I just had a gyne appt. on Wednesday and they basically told me, in an aloof way, just deal with the symptoms. They said there is no real way to test my hormone levels and all they would really do is put me on birth control in order to control my cycle. My doc. of 11 years told me a year ago when I started my anxiety attacks, that there's no way I'm going through the change.
Avatar f tn Hello i sufffer anxiety and depression..and after 8 years off being off hormones for a complete hystrectomy im back on them..have tried several since the middle of July and one was making me feel so good for about 2 weeks then dr changed it because of lack of sex drive and no energy..i have tried estradiol pill and patch with promtrium which i believe makes depression worse.Menest .
Avatar f tn My previous doctor tried me in Effexor instead of estrogen for extreme menopausal symptoms and migraines because the clinic now refuses to prescribe estrogen to anyone. I had been on low dose (.25 mg) estrogen every other day over 25 years since I had to have a hysterectomy when I was in my 30s. On Effexor I could not even function. I could only work for a few minutes at a time and then would feel exhausted and unable to concentrate so I had to lie down. I cried all the time.
Avatar n tn I have read that too much estrogen causes fibroids, and that hormones can contribute to anxiety. (PMS) I also started to have panic attacks a few months after starting the BC pill and have wondered if that was the cause.
Avatar f tn I take it for panic attacks. I heard low estrogen levels can cause migraines, anxiety and night sweats. Do they do check this in a regular blood test? I'm not sure I have ever had this checked out. I had everything else checked...I am just so fed up with this I don't nkow what to do anymore. What medications has anyone been on to help them with this?
Avatar f tn The doctor put me on estrogen as soon as I had it for estrogen replacement therapy. Now two years after having no symptoms or problems at all, I have almost every symptom of going through menopause except the hot flashes. I don't have hot flashes, I sweat all the time. Can't sleep.
Avatar f tn My life has taken a turn for the worse after breastfeeding. Hormonal fluctuations gave me terrible migraines and weakness and i was getting all sorts of symptoms from low estrogen. I had it pre pregnancy all my life but it's exponentially worse now. With the suggestion of my previous endo i tried birth control pills. 1. Microgynon 20: fixed migraines but have me daily headaches, joint pain, dryness, and terrible mood swings and back pain (I'm still going to physio.
Avatar m tn I had a reaction, got sick for one day, but the pain was gone for a week after that (not taking the Bactrim). After the pain came back, I was instructed to try the Bactrim again; got sick almost immediately, and again the pain was gone for a week. I have not taken the Bactrim since that one. Well, I finally got an ultrasound. I was informed that I had "a bit" of gynecomastia in the right nipple.
Avatar f tn My understanding is that in post menopausal women, or women who are in forced menopause from a hysterectomy..the estrogen is what is declined...i have anxiety that seems related to the menstrual cycle, specifically when estrogen drops in the cycle. I also developed all this for the first time after I stopped breastfeeding and got my cycle back.
Avatar f tn back in 84 and have only been on estrogen. Vivelle dot .05mg. Then I got anxiety - bad daily anxiety. After adding the progesterone, I'm seeing a big difference already - for the better.
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar n tn I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Symptoms of esterogen excess are weight gain, irregular menstrual periods, which can be excess bleeding or light bleeding, and an increase in the strength of pre-menstrual symptoms and anxiety. Confirmation can only be done after getting the estrogen levels checked. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
1638247 tn?1300467050 I've always been heavier than everyone else, even though I ate less and exercised more. But from the age of eight onward, I began gaining a lot of weight for no reason. No matter how little I eat or rigorously I work out, my body won't respond to diet or exercise. At one point, I was living on 200 cals a day while strength training and arobics morning, noon, and night.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have been through alot and that you are taking alot of medications. Hormones are a huge part in anxiety. I would get the worst of my anxiety the week before my period was due. Now that I have had a hysterectomy and am not sure what I am ovulating etc I cant seem to pin point it the same. I suggest seeing a naturopath or at the very least getting a new doctor. Naturopaths can really help with the hormones and medication reduction and so much more.
Avatar f tn Estrogen does tend to bind thyroid hormone. I don't know when you are taking your thyroid medication and applying your estrogen gel. But you should not do those at the same time or too close together. And you may just need to tweak dosages (a little more thyroid med or a little less estrogel). Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Had my first blood test and my progesterone is 84 and estrogen at 47. I was told estrogen is low, to increase from 1 estrogen patch to 3 and I'm freaking out wondering if this will affect the outcome of things. During the 2WW I've had mild cramps and other minimal symptoms and wonder if what I'm feeling or not is a good/bad sign. Anyone with similar numbers? Do you know if low estrogen levels affect the implantation process?? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!! Good luck to all!!
20922415 tn?1661860103 Progesterone is one of the sexual hormones in the female bodies maintains and regulates sexual well-being. In males, it is produced in a small amount for sperm development. It is the main and vital hormone that plays a significant role in menstrual cycle health preparing the body for conception and development of pregnancy. 1.
Avatar f tn Free t4 is a better test than t4, as it is not affected by estrogen. Is she on any type of estrogen? (Birth control for any reason?) This can increase the t4, but not the free t4. You may also ask for thyroid antibodies to be tested. Autoimmune thyroiditis is the most common cause of hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn dizziness, extreme low energy level and anxiety attacks (never had anxiety before). I was just wondering if Progynova can indeed give these side effects and if there are any other drugs that can stimulate the thickening of my uteral lining.
