20922415 tn?1661860103 During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month. As the follicle develops, it produces the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which thicken the lining of the uterus called the endometrium.
Avatar f tn I recently took fertility drugs (Follistim,Menopur,Lupron) during March 5-13. My RE stopped meds due to low estrogen(33). Since then I have new RE she wants to detox my system of the meds which fine with me. I should of already had my monthly cycle. On April 3rd she put me on Provera 20mg for 10 days and I still have no period she did blood test on April 21st Estrogen(73) Progest(9) she told me to wait 10 days to see if I have period if not take pregnancy test.
Avatar n tn Also, I am wanting to get off birth control and start trying to become pregnant, will my dose change after I get off the pill? How risky is hypothyroidism during pregnancy? I had a very good pregnancy with my first child, but that was before my diagnosis.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome. I would definitely consult with your ob/gyn about the gall stones. During pregnancy, these do tend to get worse and as your body is already dealing with a lot during pregnancy, you don't want that on top of it. The gall stones get worse due to extra estrogen. Gall stones left untreated can cause your gallbladder to become infected and can even rupture. So, I'd talk to your doctor about this BEFORE trying again.
578042 tn?1217657987 From what Ive ready cm does increase during pregnancy due to rising estrogen but thats just from what Ive read.
Avatar f tn I too have experienced the same and now have tiny ulcer like sores after 1.5 years of pain. I've seen several doctors who say I'm estrogen deficient and to use the cream they prescribe but that doesn't work. Most have given me lanacane (numbing cream) but I'd like my sex life back with my husband as well. I don't have an SDT (e.g. herpes) but tiny little open sores/ulcers that have spread over the last year and penetration is excruciating.
Avatar f tn So I'm starting to think I am becoming lactose intolerant during my pregnancy. I'm 30 weeks tomorrow (yayyy) and every time I have cereal in the morning about 1 hour later u start getting really bad poop pains (tmi) and end up having diarrhea. I never really had much of a problem with dairy but milk really hates me right now. Is it possible to become lactose while pregnant? Anyone else having this issue?
Avatar m tn I conceived next month again, and RE prescribed to use vaginal progesterone pills till 10th week of pregnancy as my progesterone tested during 4 week pregnancy is 11.5. Third time also I had bleeding around 6 weeks, and I also passed 2 large sized clots. Bleeding stopped the next day and we could see a heartbeat. I continued using progesterone till 11 weeks and then stopped them.
1336491 tn?1340619541 You might want to message Quix about your post to be sure you get a response from her as she hasn't been able to spend a lot of time with us lately. It makes sense that estrogen suppressess the immune system to some extent as estrogen levels remain high during pregnancy when a woman's immune system needs to be suppressed so her own system doesn't attack the 'intruder' fetus. I'm not sure exactly what your concern is with patch use if you have MS.
Avatar n tn The reason the do not like general anasthesia during pregnancy is becuase there is no way for the dentist to monitor the baby. If the procedure is over and they have checked the baby out and all is well, then I wouldn't worry much about it. The birth control on the other hand can potentially cause problems depending on the type of birth control. The hormones (like estrogen) in certain birth control methods have been known to cause birth defects.
Avatar f tn Two things if this nasty beast rears its ugly face will I have symptoms leading up to the rise in my CA. 2nd I am trying to be on an estrogen blocker as it was estrogen positive, currently trying Arimidex as fumara gave me too much pain have you tried these drugs right after chemo and with any luck. We are also looking at it as preventive for breast cancer. I am 54 years old and doing well.
Avatar f tn I will probably have at least one during the course of this pregnancy, because of the surge in estrogen. The extra estrogen is making you emotional, too. These are all normal reactions to the new chemical cocktail in your body. I hope that you can find a way to cheer up (I watch comedies and Disney movies to feel better), and try to remember that you haven't done anything wrong, and there's nothing to be ashamed of.
Avatar n tn t you risk miscarriage or abnormal brain development of the baby. your target TSh during pregnancy should be 1 -2. But they should also test FT3 and FT4 and keep them in the upper half of the reference range. (sorry, Stella I disagree in this case about waiting 6 weeks. TSH of 17 is high. Thyroid levels are critical in early pregnancy and Ashuasha needs to be treated for hypothyroid immediately). Ashuasha, what dose of med has your doctor started you with?
Avatar f tn Get the book what to expect when expecting. I'm 39 weeks today with my first baby. It has helped me through so much all of those crazy and embarrassing questions.
407961 tn?1202013647 my stroke was caused by birth control pills(bcp) as well. I take Plavix and was wondering if it is safe to take during pregnancy. It is important for you to maintain your blood thinners b/c if your stroke was caused by the estrogen in the BCP's, your blood needs to be thin so the estrogen from the pregnancy won't cause more blood clots....my Dr.
Avatar f tn No worries! Estrogen supplements are totally fine during your cycle. Lots of people use them. Personally, I was on estrogen until I was 11 weeks pregnant. It's a hormone your body produces naturally, and in even greater amounts during pregnancy, so you're fine! It's the same thing with progesterone. Lots of women use it both to get pregnant and to sustain a pregnancy, yet the bottles have a warning saying not to use while pregnant.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Do you think this would cause older moms to have a higher incidence of having an autistic child? I was 43 and my son is HF.
898974 tn?1244584828 I have the same concerns about estrogen dropping and wondering how it turned out for people whose estrogen level dropped. Lilbits, my RE did tell me that you can't tell the difference between pregnancy symptoms and progesterone symptoms; they are the same. (It's the progesterone in a pregnancy that give you symptoms). Anyway, hope it all turned out well for all of you!
1328473 tn?1335874467 I have read that high estrogen levels can cause "bad" eggs. We recently completed our first IVF cycle that resulted in a pregnancy but I m/c between 6-7 weeks. My RE did not have much info on why it happened. My Estrogen was 7800 at the time of retrieval, which I know is high. Can high estrogen levels cause my eggs to be bad and in turn result in the m/c?
