Avatar n tn Femara is used in estrogen receptor positive breast cancers to prevent cancer recurrence. It decreases the amount of estrogen in the body. Estrogen protects bone strength and if estrogen levels fall then there are increased chances of osteoporosis which can result in fractures. So calcium supplements are prescribed along with femara. There are few studies that do suggest that calcium supplements increase the risk of heart attacks. Discuss it with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I recently had an Estradial test done and they found no detectable estrogen. I have been really fatigue, short of breath and having heart palps. I had started using some Bio Identical Estrogen (BiEst) at a very low dose but I really do not feel great. Have a lot of hot flashes and overall do not feel good. Does anyone have any input regarding BiEst and my symptoms. Is not having estrogen bad? They tell me it is.
973741 tn?1342342773 From what I have read from various sources, yes. And it is thought to be caused by the decline in estrogen. Here's one article - https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/consumer-healthcare/what-is-cardiovascular-disease/menopause-and-heart-disease.
233616 tn?1312787196 estrogen liver fibrosis ....and get 684,000 hits. Apparently the benefit to protecting the liver is well documented and the research has been around for a while. Yet my liver doctor didn't mention it, or suggest I go back on it.....but I did it through my endocrinologist as soon as I found out. I'm wondering how many ladies in here are aware of this, have any doctors told you??? or whether any men have considered a small dose to help slow the progression of this disease?
566073 tn?1219434819 At your age, you are just replacing what your body would naturally give you if you had not had your surgery. You can ask your doctor about testing the tumor for estrogen and progesterone receptors. Theorectically, if your tumor has estrogen receptors, if there are any other tumor cells left, they might be stimulated to grow. But mucinous tumors in general are not stimulated by estrogen. A stage Ia cancer should be cured by a radical hysterectomy.

Avatar f tn I'm in surgical menopause....yay me. When I finally started getting treated properly for my "condition", my heart kinda calmed down a bit. I'm on estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. In menopause, most of us are estrogen dominant and estrogen deficient at the same time. A little dose of progesterone over the counter may do the trick and it helps balance you out. You can buy it at most health food stores.
Avatar f tn Since having my baby I have had extreme anxiety and heart palpitations that have caused me to see specialists and go through endless testing. I began to experience a correlation between my strange symptoms and my menstral cycle. That is why I had my hormones tested. Why would my hormones be so low? I'm only 34. I was able to sustain a pregnancy, and to my knowledge, only experienced one chemical pregnancy within the year we were trying.
1553360 tn?1355848431 The first 2 days was depressed and just sad about everything, yesterday was fine, but the today I feel up and down non-stop. Please can anyone give me some advice as to how long this may last. Once I get my cycle I can start the clomid, which makes me question if there will be any more mood changes. Any advice would be appreciated!
Avatar n tn Arimidex lowers body’s estrogen levels and hence is effective in estrogen dependent breast cancers. However, lowering of estrogen increases the risk of heart and cardiovascular diseases. Hence a woman becomes more susceptible to high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis, angina and heart attack. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
1074733 tn?1256231619 Be sure your body actually needs what doctors want to give you, and be sure you ask for what you believe your body does need! Find out if you are estrogen dominant after surgery and before you agree to estrogen therapy.
Avatar n tn I too was on Fosamax for 6 weeks and had bed heart burn, and they stopped the med right away. I have heart palpitations and take Proprololol(Inderal) 80mg for it, and it works like a charm...however following surgery I had a few here and there. I had a heart catheterization some years back and my heart was healthy so my palpitations (irregular heart beats) were harmless. However if you get really rapid pulse that can be serious (tacacardia) .
Avatar m tn Ovary removal is a severe trauma to the entire endocrine system. Estrogen can help mitigate some of the onslaught but it can take some trial and error to find the right product and dose. There are many options to try - patches, gels, pills, vaginal ring. I hope you find something to help you sleep and address any other symptoms that appear!
Avatar n tn rate is not related to a risk of Down syndrome. You should be far enough along to come off of the estrogen and progesterone (the placenta has taken over this function). You may want to talk to your RE about that. Otherwise, you should see an ob/gyn to establish regular prenatal care. Best regards, Dr.
Avatar f tn so then i started burping alot i noticed and went off the digestive enzymes....AND ALL HEART PAPS VANISHED........not one night or day.......and i was having them first thing in the morning evening during the day.......way too many but i knew it had to besomething i had done recently...and thankfully it was.......so always look at the meds you are taking....and try one by one to see if any make a difference....
Avatar f tn I fluctuate between borderline/mild hypo and normal (I also have a history of hyper) and I get heart palpitations (PVCs and PACs) too. There seems to be some correlation between my palpitations and my thyroid hormone values (they seem to get worse when my labs are more hypo) and I actually never had them before my thyroid issues started. Most doctors are convinced that hypo can't cause heart palpitations, but based on my experience and what I've heard from others, it can.
Avatar f tn Just prior to menstruation, estrogen levels drop in women and a drop in estrogen may decrease magnesium levels. One study found that cell magnesium level were significantly lower patients with premenstrual symptoms than in controls. Heart palpitations is one of the many possible symptoms of low magnesium. Maybe try taking magnesium supplements next month to see if you see an improvement.
Avatar f tn In reference to my earlier post and your response. If overdosing of Naturethroid has potentially cause my heart disease, is it possible to reverse it by lowering the dose?
Avatar n tn Your levels probably aren't right or something. I am hypo and have no problems maintaining my weight--5'6 @ 105lbs. Try a diet lower in fat and more exercise. Spider veins can be from surges in estrogen--fat holds onto estrogen. Also, they can be caused my muscles failing to squeeze the vessels enough for the blood to travel back up to the heart--so it pools and leaks into capillaries. Exercise and weight loss will help the escalation of spider veins. Take Care.
Avatar f tn If your T4 was used with the range I'm thinking of, its on the bottom end right? Please include ranges provided by the lab used - they vary according to the test equipment used. I suggest getting what is called Free T3 and Free T4 testing, the most accurate way to measure both of these hormones. Your T3 might be low. You need to know the level. Could be why you are short of breath. T3 influences muscles, digestive and heart strength.
Avatar f tn t know anything about low estrogen levels, but if your Dr. is looking into whats causing it and taking steps to correct it, thats really great. I am responding because it breaks my heart to see a post where someone is obviously hurting so much. You are only 33 and you have time on your side. Look at the positive, they now know whats going on and why you are not ovulating. I'm sure they can correct it and you will be on your way to conceiving a baby in no time.
Avatar f tn I did the saliva test, and results came back that I am estrogen dominant and dhea and prog. and test very low. So they pharmacist started me on 5 mg of dhea and also a progest. cream. I was good for 4 days and thought I found the cure. Until just last Wed all the way until today...that is 6 days....I started with severe cramps, pain in lower back, almost as if I was getting my menstrual cycle. Then came the Diarrhea and I am not talking one time....
Avatar n tn I have gone through 2 failed rounds of Natural IVF where they don't give me any drugs and take my one naturally ovulated egg. Both times it produced an 8 cell grade 1 embryo. They transferred on day 3. They said they completely aspirate out the corpus luteum when they take the egg so the embryo is completely dependent on the hormones they give me after transfer (2mg of estrogen twice/day and progesterone twice/day) My estrogen was 244 the second round transfer day.
Avatar m tn I realize our fat cells and some foods also release estrogen, so my risk is not zero of having estrogen present in my body. But, I have known three women who were the same stage and type as myself who took HRT and they have now passed. It may or not be related to the HRT, but two of them felt it was. Also, my gyn/onc doesn't want me to take it and he has over twenty years of experience treating gyn cancers. You will not find consensus on this, but you have to go with your gut.
