Avatar m tn I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking. Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
1660049 tn?1326089018 s Drug Guide for Nurses 9th Edition and there is no mention of any interaction with vitamins. There is a mention that metformin can cause Vit B12 deficiency. Also if you take an estrogen supplement it can increase your risk for hypoglycemia. There is a long list of herbs that interact with metformin, however, so choose a prenatal vitamin that does not have herbs. I would type it out but it is a pretty long list LOL.
Avatar f tn I have been informed from a specialist on reversal that if I started having my periods again that I may b able to have a baby with my tubes getting repaired and unclamped. Would taking estrogen and vitamins help me gain this all back??
Avatar f tn I think it depends on your hair type and condition before taking them. I already had pretty healthy hair that grows really fast, so maybe I don't notice it as much.
Avatar f tn i am taking various menopausal vitamins and supplelments, but those have stopped working and again the flashes are back. i am now beginning to wonder if the hot flashes are related to the thyroid and not menopause. Would taking a brand name rather than a generic drug help? I do not take any other drugs and don't have any other medical issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn The transition to menopause or perimenopause was formerly thought to involve dropping estrogen levels. Estrogen levels are now known to average 30% higher, to be chaotic, and to be associated with less progesterone.
Avatar f tn generally aspirin is known to thin the blood and enhance blood flow to the heart, it is also belived similarly that it will improve blood flow to the uterus and hence better absorption of all ur meds, the progesterone, estrogen, folic acid and even ur vitamins. Folic acid is a must for baby development and with all this treatment ur immunity may be compromised so definitely that ur vitamins.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
Avatar f tn I was without estrogen for some time in this year, and then I used local estrogen (Vagifem) and Vaginal balans. My vagina and vaginal atrium and urethra are in poor condition. I have also had osteopenia previously. And I have hypercalcemia, I should not use calcium pills. Could it be possible that I have cystitis or vaginitis? I hardly have any discharge from vagina. I had my first bacterial vaginitis in January this year. I had abnormal bleeding before it.
649848 tn?1534633700 That includes key hormones like estrogen, along with fat-soluble vitamins and any organic pollutants that found their way into your bloodstream as you gained weight. Adipose tissue’s tendency to store things is an unfortunate side-effect, because often we need those things to be circulating, not sitting around. Take hormones, for instance.
Avatar f tn ALSO - if you actually go into a health food store and ask the staff - they should be able to mention more and help you pick vitamins and foods that are good for this... also I would perhaps consult with a natropath - rather then just the quacks/store clerks... I will have another look... good luck!
Avatar m tn I have tried many multi-vitamins in the past and always find that something within them makes my stomach upset. Not sure if it is the iron or zinc but when i take the vitamins like B,C, D and Omegas I feel ok.
Avatar n tn 1 When absorbed, DIM promotes estrogen metabolism to produce healthy and cancer-protective 2-hydroxy estrogens,2 and minimizes the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes,3 thereby reducing cellular inflammation. Activating these pathways encourages remarkable weight loss and hormonal balance and provides many other benefits towards healthy aging.
Avatar f tn First off, please don't tell me to see a doctor. I can't right now. I want to treat with vitamins and herbs anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm either estrogen dominant or deficient, but I can't be sure which. It seems that I have most of the symptoms for both, and not just the ones they have in common. I'm obviously leaning toward dominant because it's much more likely being 27 years old.
Avatar f tn Anyone knows any good vitamins to natural regulate cycle and strengthen fertility?
Avatar f tn In menopause, most of us are estrogen dominant and estrogen deficient at the same time. A little dose of progesterone over the counter may do the trick and it helps balance you out. You can buy it at most health food stores. I take a lot more progesterone than what you can get at the health food store but all my innards are gone. If your ovaries are still there but functioning less optimally, a little dose may really help you feel better. Just my two cents.
Avatar f tn Well, it actually is true that low estrogen levels do cause aging of skin. But that is more like after you go through menopause (and while you are getting older when you have that, the reason we know that estrogen plays a role is that when a younger woman has a hysterectomy they are thrown into full menopause right away with a dramatic decrease in estrogen and their skin will show effects right away . . . IE: my sister in law.
Avatar f tn Estrogen can give quite a headache, and estrogen levels increase a lot during pregnancy -- try vitamin B 100 and magnesium (be sure to take the magnesium only a half pill at a time or it can give you stomach cramps and the runs).
Avatar m tn Hair loss due to alcohol consumption is mainly due to the fact that alcohol affects the levels of estrogen and zinc in the body, which subsequently affect hair growth. Excessive drinking RAISES the level of estrogen, high levels of estrogen result in hair loss. Excessive drinking REDUCES zinc levels in the body. Zinc is essential for healthy hair growth. In addition, constant consumption of alcohol can also induce a lower level of vitamins B and C in your body.
Avatar m tn The vitamins and calcium with D3 are a good start. However, in order to absorb the Calcium and other vitamins she needs to make her own estrogen. I take Siberian Eleuthero (Ginseng) and Magnesium glycinate to help me make estrogen and build my bones. I have osteopenia also. For her stomach problems, I think she should be taking acidophilus and enzymes. I stopped taking PPIs and started taking Gluten Cutter from Walmart as it contains over 10 different enzymes.
1112615 tn?1258650318 Nurse called and confirmed that my estrogen level was low and that is why I have been suffering. They had me on the vivelle but it did not work plus the terrible side effects. They wanted to put me on Enjuvea which is another synthetic hormone with basically the same possible side effects. I told them I was going to try the phytoestrogen therapy vitamin with isoflavone and the progesterone cream because it is a natural approach. What td you all think?????????
Avatar f tn If you are experiencing hair loss, it is most likely the result of fluctuating estrogen level. Your physician may be able to check your hormone levels and, if necessary, prescribe additional vitamin or mineral supplements. At the very least, she can reassure you that some hair loss is normal. Reduce your anxiety. Stress plays a big role in your body's overall health, including the health of your hair. Feeling stressed out can actually increase the amount of hair loss. Eat well.
Avatar f tn So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more. That may leave us estrogen dominant and adding more products that stimulate estrogen can lead to things like a thickening of the endometrium which, over time, can lead to precancerous or even cancerous situations. Estrogen and estrogen like compounds can be stored in fat while progesterone can't (especially if we are already overweight).
