Avatar n tn However, I did read that there is a higher risk for thyroid issues which might be hidden, accelerated or misdiagnosed as an estrogen or vitamin d deficiency. I know Vitamin D does interact with the thyroid but I'm unsure of the interaction with Estrogen. If you are worried about one of these possible deficiencies definitely make sure to have the doctors test for thyroid disorders too.
Avatar f tn first of all i have vitamin d deficiency too i just had blood work done and i started using vitamin d supplements that i got from the pharmacy which i dont think makes a difference right now but my doctor said it might take time. my only problem really is dizziness and yea you might be the way you arebecause of it but it might be anxiety too making you feel worse than you should be maybe go to another doctor get better soon wish i could help more!
Avatar n tn ve had the battery of tests done for thyroid, anemia, RA. They all came back negative with the exception of a Vitamin D deficiency. My vitamin D level is 14. Could it cause all these problems? I was told to buy some Caltrate and start taking that. But from what I've seen I don't know if this is the right route to take. Maybe I should see an endocrinologist? I also have to go for an MRI of the head sometime soon.
Avatar m tn ) but from MANY other causes from hypothyroidism to insulin resistance to vitamin D deficiency. The problem is finding the cause or causes but at the end of the symptoms and causes of serotonin deficiency is general info to help boost serotonin. When you reach a serious state of serotonin deficiency suicidal thoughts occur as I unfortunately know from experience.
560272 tn?1311350293 ve had a bunch of tests run but never any test for vitamin deficiency. Can a B or D deficiency, or Calcium.......really cause an anxiety disorder plus all my other symptoms? I'm just unsure if I want to spend the money on more tests as I have no insurance. Any input would be great! Oh-p.s nothing has ever helped my anxiety or eczema. I've taken a multivitamin before with no help, I also have tried not eating wheat or dairy.
Avatar f tn d also recommend that you get tested for vitamin B12 (deficiency can cause extreme fatigue, plus other symptoms), vitamin D, calcium, magnesium and selenium. Deficiency of any of these vitamins/minerals can cause hypo-like symptoms.
Avatar f tn Additional blood work can rule out hormonal causes, electrolyte imbalances and magnesium deficiency. Electrolyte imbalances, magnesium deficiency and/or hormone imbalances (e.g. estrogen deficiency) can also cause heart palpitations. See "Estrogen deficiency" section in http://womeninbalance.org/2012/10/26/return-to-balance/ for more information about estrogen deficiency and palpitations.
12182312 tn?1427683956 Hmmm. The degree of vitamin D (and calcium) deficiency is significantly associated with the degree and severity of hypothyroidism. The possible explanations for low vitamin D levels with hypothyroidism: poor absorption of vitamin D from the intestine or the body may not activate vitamin D properly. Current recommended vitamin D levels for optimal health that I have read from various studies: 40 to 60 ng/mL (100-150 nmol/L) year round.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D deficiency is commonly due to not enough sunlight. However, the causes of vitamin D deficiency are numerous and you may have more than one condition contributing to this deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is estimated to affect at least a billion people worldwide. When vitamin D levels are not rising well or at all (vitamin D resistance) low magnesium levels are the first suspect. High doses of vitamin D can worsen an existing magnesium deficiency.
Avatar f tn Before four years I was severe Vit. D and Vit. B12 deficiency. Just two months before I have done root canal. From that I have severe back pain, sometimes burning sensation on backside, headache, feeling weakness, dipressed mood, not concentrating on work, anxiety. I have done blood test. My vit. D is 60ng/ml, vit. B12 680pg/ml. My CBC, HB, LFT, KFT, cholesterol is normal. Orthopedic Dr prescribed 4 tab. of vit D suggest to take one table after three weeks. I have also consulted to Neurologist.
518117 tn?1429276273 These studies are linking this to cardio problems, diabetes and cancer. The vitamin D deficiency makes me wonder about bone mets to be honest. Which does happen with breast cancer. Any input would be appreciated. God bless.
12504580 tn?1485510437 Hi there, Vitamin D can be low in someone with MS, one reason is because of getting less sun exposure with Uhthoff's worsening their neurological symptoms. Whilst it's not uncommon for someone with MS to take Vit D, Vit D deficiency is also common in the general population, with stats around 1 in 3 with a D deficiency.
Avatar f tn Recent blood test shows vit. D 111 ng/ml and Vit B12 is 1074 pg/ml (ref. Range 211-911). May I have elevated vit. D and Vit B12. How to bring to normal level.
Avatar n tn 6% of range So this showed just the opposite of the anticipated estrogen dominance and instead showd a pretty significant deficiency in Estrogen. And very rock bottom testosterone. Both of which may explain her complete lack of libido not to mention still being Hypo and being undermedicated (but hope the Dr increases her dosage of Armour in the next couple weeks).
Avatar f tn Does anyone know what causes severe B12 deficiency and vitamin d deficiency? I am starting 50,000 IU tomorrow (twice a week) and I will start the B 12 shots (twice a week) for probably the rest of my life. I have been really sick and have some other symptoms that I have had a lot of trouble addressing. i have an unexplained fever and Blood Pressure that goes really high(180/120) and then drops really low (90/50).
Avatar f tn This same trend is seen with some forms of breast cancer and vitmin D deficiency and higher rates of breast cancer and blacks but not whites.
Avatar m tn 1- vitamin d deficiency ( my level is 5.7 ng/ml) 2-my hgb is 15.8 3-my iron level is 231 (high than normal) my doctor ask me to take 2000 iu daily but i take 3000 iu daily now ,i have taken 3000 iu daily (from 2 weeks until now) and feel better i went to a neurologist and she see me and my eyes and said i haven't any problem!
Avatar n tn I have been suffering with all of your symptoms for years and finally a few months ago after being tested for anything and everything was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. I have come to realize that this is so common but for some reason is left undiagnosed in most people so consider yourself lucky.
Avatar f tn Are you feeling any better??? I have been the same... mine started in Nov/15 and gradually got worse.. they thought is was everything from stress to ear infection... In March I had blood work done and my D was at 13... I've been on a high dose of vitamin D for a month, it's slowly coming along.... this week has been horrible for anxiety and panic attack, and vertigo.. seems like they are a packaged deal lately...I have been doing a lot of reading on blog from others who are low..
Avatar m tn She had EBV and despite having a suntan and being outdoors, she had a very low vitamin D level. Months later, she posted and told me that she was feeling better and her vitamin D level was slowly rising.
Avatar f tn I told the cardiologist that my heart palpitations return after I stopped taking vitamin D for a month she said vitamin D has nothing to do with the heart...I wish I never stopped taking for a month I probably would of been 100 percent by now...I was on the road to recovery....
