Avatar f tn Is there ONE treatment for both BV and UTI? I am 47, and struggle with vaginal dryness (which is probably the root cause of all these problems). I have had unpleasant reactions (itching, burning, redness, pain) to every lubricant I have tried, even those without glycerin & parabens. These infections are embarrassing and they are ruining my life. My husband is very understanding, but I feel like a lousy partner. We used to make love 4-5 x per week; now it is zero. Please help.
572550 tn?1217185235 Your adorable Goldendoodle is leaking urine because she is a spayed female and has an estrogen dependent incontinence. Your veterinarian should run a urinalysis to rule out cystitis and radiograph her bladder to rule out bladder stones. There is a medicine called Proin which controls incontinence nicely. The tucked vulva is probably unrelated.
Avatar m tn you can have a decrease in estrogen available to the genital area without being reflected in blood estrogen levels. urinary spasms are a symptom of the low estrogen and they will feel very similar to an uti. being referred to an urogynecologist might be useful if one is in your area. once hubby gets his results back, we can figure out when to get confirmatory testing for you since you haven't had obvious lesions to culture.
Avatar n tn On aug 16 my urine started to be cloudy and it burned a little at the end of peeing , also had this weird feeling in my urethra like tickling. I took a home uti test and it tested positive for leukocytes but no nitrites. I then went to health dept who said i had a uti and I could possibly kick it with cranberry pills and water. The burning went away but not the tickling feeling like a spasm. So i then went to the dr who put me on Cipro for five days today is the fourth.
Avatar f tn It would be good to know your estrogen and progesterone levels, to ensure your estrogen to progesterone ratio is right. What are you on now? Unfortunately standard Thyroid testing does not indicate Hypothyroidism type 2, which is similar to diabetes 2. The serum levels are fine, yet the thyroid function (in the cells) is low (thyroid resistance) For this you need Free T3, Free T4 AND Reverse T3 Cheers.
Avatar f tn Hello I went to a large chemist chain yesterday and spoke to the naturapath on site and she is convinced that Bio Ceuticals product (natural and no estrogen) called Alfa Efa works a treat. I have just started taking these capsules. I feel an instant change. Also Replens Vaginal Gel, also no estrogen was bought, but am trying out the capsules first. The naturopath said, I may not need the Replens as the Alpha Efa works so well.
Avatar f tn Bio-identical means the same as your body makes and it is perfectly safe, not like the synthetic rubbish. You are no doubt estrogen dominant, and this can cause all the symptoms you wrote. I do not like synthetic hormones, they are dangerous and estrogen is one of the worse. I would also get off the mood altering drugs and go on a good, food grade B vitamin, Standard Process labs is awesome, the ingredients are pure and made from organic food.
Avatar f tn 03 mg my dr checked my blood hormones levels and wants me to try estratest for a month along with vagifem//i had been feeling good on the menest other than getting a uti, which i started bactrim 2 days ago and my anxiety is out of this worlld and im tired but cant sleep...would this be from switching estrogens> I was only on menest for 1 month and had not been on any estrogens for 8 years....
Avatar m tn However, vaginal atrophy caused by loss of estrogen can cause some spotting. And I have read situations where some women who have endometriosis can have some bleeding from endo implants on the vaginal cuff. The "feeling weird to pee" and pain in your lower back could be an indication of a urinary tract infection (UTI). You should see your doctor to determine the cause of the bleeding. Let us know what you find out.
Avatar f tn Bacterial Vaginosis it happens when we produce to much estrogen. Not serious and easi treatable.
Avatar f tn I tried a week of Cipro as I was sure I had a UTI (my fever started the day after sex), and my pain went away but my fever and fatigue remain. I am seeing an Infectious Disease Doctor in 4 weeks. But in the meantime my "fever" runs between normal (98) and 100.5 every day and my exhaustion is making it almost impossible to lead a normal life. My GYN has suggested Estrogen as my FSH is 66 (post-menopausal). However I can't find evidence that low estrogen causes fever?
Avatar f tn The burning (all over my vagina, including my labia sometimes) really only lasts the two or three days before my period and generally stops as soon as I put the yeast infection cream on it, but it seems weird that it keeps happening, and is followed by a UTI sometimes, and that it started happening when it did. My questions simplified are as follows: 1)In your opinion, given the information could this be mild Herpes symptoms?
Avatar n tn At this point I feel I am going back and forth between yeast infections and low estrogen symptoms. Needless to say I am losing my mind and am in agony. Any suggestions? OR home remedies? Baths? Anything would help.
Avatar f tn Check with your doctor as to whether progesterone is risky for DVT. "Hormone therapy" is a broad term that covers both the use of estrogen and progesterone. But I believe it is estrogen that is considered problematic for the risk of deep-vein thrombosis, not progesterone, and lack of progesterone is what keeps women from getting a period when they are still getting a uterine lining (which is caused by estrogen).
Avatar f tn Felt great for two weeks, then seemed UTI was back, but culture was neg, a surprise due to symptoms and cloudy urine. After 2 weeks, sought advice with gyn and found vag gardnerella (never before). I guess the Tetra knocked out my lactobacillis. Took flagyl but still had symptoms, infection seemed to linger. Waited couple more weeks and urinary symptoms reemerged. UTI Culture was positive for staph epidermidis.
1513972 tn?1290396045 I spotted for 1 day. Very light pink with slight cramping and nothing else. I found out I had a UTI on this same day. So I was thinking that maybe that was the cause of it but, I read that a UTI does not make you spot. I am really worried because I have never spotted before my period. According to my calculations I should have been ovulating around this time. Thanks for any advice that could help me ease my mind.
Avatar m tn This was a walk-in clinic and I went ONLY because I was traveling and need confirmation of the UTI and a prescription for antibiotics.
Avatar m tn The treatment of urgency incontinence usually consist of Estrogen vaginal cream, avoidance of foods and drink that cause bladder irritation, urgency suppression techniques, and medication. For those patients that do not respond to these therapies, other treatments, Tibial Nerve Stimulation, Interstim treatment, or Botox injections can be done. J.
Avatar f tn You have no burning when you pee and no discharge. White blood cells are in the normal range, you do not have a UTI, and you have a normal pap and no cervical inflammation. Why did you go to the doctor? A pain that is 1 on a scale of 1-10 and on-again off-again does not usually cause someone to book an appointment. Do you think you have been exposed to chlamydia? And if so, why didn't you just ask the doctor to test for chlamydia?.
Avatar m tn I have had plenty of UTIs in my life but they never were this much trouble until I went through menopause. The tissues in the urinary tract and the vagina can become fragile and painful due to lack of estrogen. I hope you (and I) get better soon - being in constant pain for months is no fun.
Avatar m tn Hello, This wetting of bed is called adult urinary incontinence. It can be due to overtaking the fluids at night, urge incontinence, inappropriate bladder contractions. constipation, infection ,a stone in the bladder ,use of diuretics ("water pills") and thinning of tissue due to decreased estrogen after a woman goes through menopause. If the repeat happens, then please get it evaluated from a urologist. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn No I am not sexually active. I had rectocele surgery on August 5th and developed a UTI about 3 weeks later and it had to be resolved with medication. I had the same symptoms as I have in the past, urgency, pain with urination, so that is why I called the doctor's office, figuring it came back. But I was wrong. They are telling me it is probably OAB. I didn't know OAB could cause pain upon urination but the nurse said it can.
Avatar n tn I was in school and saw the doctor when I came home for break. She tested my urine and it came back clean. No UTI, nothing. However, I had all the classic symptoms, constant pelvis pressure, ect. At the end of that week, my actual KIDNEY felt like it was twisting. Most painful experience of my LIFE and was only relieved by drinking 3 glasses of water and cranberry juice per hour. I had sex again that December and felt a weird burning sensation under my vagina.
Avatar f tn If he is a newborn and these are his first few wet diapers it's most likely what they call "brick dust".
167426 tn?1254086235 No problems urinating, no UTI. Last scans were clear, vag and abd, pelvic hurt more than normal, She is waiting for a Cysto, they put her on macrobid {sp} today.
1077380 tn?1255898744 I should have been getting progesterone and estrogen treatments early on. Suzanne Summers books have info about this and a list of resources. Dr. Reiss in Beverly Hills is wonderful. I went to him too late. 2. When I first went to the ER friday night they said I had a "threatened miscarriage" and checked me for a UTI since that is a leading cause. I had no sign of it but they cathetered me and took a sample to the lab. They would not give me antibiotics for it as a precaution.
Avatar n tn s decided to switch me to micronor because they thought that I had an estrogen imbalance, and the combo pills were creating too much estrogen hence the miscarriages. I have been taking the micronor for almost 2 years now, and I only get my periods maybe 3 times a year. Mind you, the no periods is great, but the pain is worse. Up until one doctor saw a cyst, did no one say that I might have something else, or that even micronor has been bad to me.
