Avatar f tn My dose has been continually going up. I have taken the estrogen cream and feel worse. I feel emotional and even broke out in pimples. They lowered me to 1/2 of the low dose. Doesnt make sense. Are they missing something? Is there more than this? I have severe brain fog and memory loss...... I am tired....should I see someone else to help?????
Avatar f tn Then, I stopped having periods and was diagnosed with PCOS. Thing is, my testerone is high, but my insulin is very low. Estrogen and progesterone were also low. Started me on bio-identical hormones and I have never felt worse. My thyroid levels seem ok, but testerone is still sky high. I also have been on a gluten free, lactose free diet and have lost weight in the last 8 weeks, but no change in hormones. What should I do? Could my doctor be missing something? I am only about 30 lbs overweight.
Avatar n tn Testosterone comes from your testes as well as from the adrenal glands so they should check out the adrenals as well. Both estrogen and testosterone are redundant systems. Estrogen and testosterone are very related (you know how when a baby is formed, the same parts go to form the ovaries and testes, so it just a matter of how much of each hormone which gives us characteristics).

Avatar n tn About a year ago I went to the doctor and had blood test ran and found out that I was low on testerone. I had the same symptoms you are having. Your testeron levels should be tested in the morning because this is when your levels should be at their highest. I am 30 years old and having this problem. I began taking testerone and have had amazing results with energy and loss of the fatigue.
Avatar m tn Is there a test out there to test testerone levels in 8 year old boys and if so, any kind of treatment for such a young age? My son does not have hardly any erections and has a slower growth rate for his penis/testicles than his younger brother. Who would be the best specialist to have some testerone levels taken or tests, a pediatric urologist or a pediatrict endocronologist.
Avatar m tn In the last month I have been experiencing low sex drive, extreme fatigue and just low energy all around. I had my testerone checked two years ago and the total was 733 ng with a free being 17.7. a year later it showed that it was 533 ng with free 13 ng. I didnt have any side effects was feeling fine at these levels. When I had the symptoms I again had it tested and this time it showed a total of 436 ng and a free of 11 ng. Is this a normal drop, it seems like alot for just two years.
Avatar n tn I have gained 30 pounds and at least 5 inches around my stomach and waist. I exercise 5 days a week and have a healthy diet. I struggle to try to lose 5 pounds. Is the testerone causing me to gain weight??? I have taking estradiol and progesterone in synthetic form before but never gained this much weight. Please help.
Avatar n tn Is your testerone high? I ask because I am having my cortisol and DHEA tested by salivia. I am waiting for results. I have hypothyroid, high testerone, low insulin, low blood pressure, high bun/creatinine. They tell me that I have PCOS, but doesnt make sense because my insulin is actually very low. I also have low estrogen and progesterone. I am curious, what kind of dr did you see???
Avatar f tn DH went to our regular PCP last week and had his B12 and Testerone checked due to feeling very tired, having weight gain & etc the results showed that everything looked great except his Blood testerone was 266 which is low for a 28 year old man. So we seen a urologist today who checked him out downstairs and said that everything looked great and etc.
Avatar f tn The hormone loss (especially estrogen and possibly testosterone) after ovary removal can cause all kinds of health issues and make us feel like we are 90. These include depression, anxiety, loss of interest in life, blunted emotions, joint pain, loss of muscle mass, blurry vision, fragmented sleep, memory and cognition loss, aging skin and hair, the list goes on and on. The ovaries produce hormones into a woman's 80's.
1462489 tn?1285945325 thinking i possibly had low testerone levels( low ibido, lack of energy, mood swings). Blood work was done, then redone and shows testerone level ok, in the lower end of ok but the doctor said my vitamin D levels were very low. She perscribed me vitamin D 50,000iu one a day for 1 week then 1 a month for 3 months. She stated she was confident i would feel alot better in just a week. my question is why? are they two closely related, vitamin d and testerone? thank you in advance.
Avatar m tn I have been trying to conceive for the past year , I don't have a period only twice a rear I've got ultra sounds and I don't have PCOS , all my blood work was fine i'm not over weight or anything like that the only thing is my Testerone levels are high :/ can anyone help me on this ?
Avatar f tn Estring, for example, releases over 90 days an amount equivalent to taking oral estrogen for just 2 days, and Vagifem, aready a very low dose estrogen product, is now available in a 10 mcg dose, as well as the original 20 mcg dose. (Both of these are reported to be preferrable to a similar third product, Estrace.) These products also appear to have a very, very low level of systemic absorption.

Avatar f tn My husband had some blood drawn and we recieved the results today. His liver results were really elevated. His AST levels were at 449 and ALT was 159 what does that mean?
Avatar f tn I have sever brain fog, dry skin, never thirsty, high testerone, awful periods, if I even get them and I have had kidney stones, breast cysts. I just did MRI of the pituitary and am hoping to have the adrenals looked at too.
Avatar m tn Sorry you feel so crummy. One thing that can happen during testosterone therapy are breathing problems while you sleep or sleep apnea. I think it normally happens when on for awhile but since you mention fatigue and being tired, this came to mind. In the off chance that is the case, you'd want to know about it. I would talk to your doctor about this most definitely. I do think the therapy works for a lot of men but I would talk to your doctor about what you are experiencing.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry you have to deal with so many health issues-- and it sounds like you lead a very healthy life. This is a forum for people with juvenile (type 1) diabetes. I'm afraid we don't know anything about PCOS. I bet there's a PCOS forum out there. Good luck dealing with all these issues. Hang in there.

Avatar f tn but i'm 24 so I don't know whats going on with that. I'm going see a doc for it but I wake up very tired every morning and basically all day. I can only have sex every once in a while because it just wont move ( ED) so basically every 2-3 days I can have sex. I'm guessing my body isn't refilling it's testerone fast enough.
Avatar m tn Hi Joey, odd name for a mum, he can start by doing weight lifting, and lots of heavy work outs, for him the safest thing for his age would be Tribulus as its just a herb and would take around 8 weeks to get to full power. But just get lifting weights in a gym, and he or you need to tell his trainer why and what its for, and let them work on him.
Avatar f tn To rule out the possibility of low testerone, my Endo also tested my Testerone, LH, FSH, and Prolactin levels, and the results were also within normal range. It's very discouraging because this isn't one of those mind-over-matter type of ordeal - I really can't brush it off when the symptoms hits me especially lethargy; I just sit or lie down and go blank. Please help!
Avatar m tn When i was young I used to have really thick hair. At the age of 14 I started to masturbate once a week, and when I was 15/16 I would masturbate at least 2-3 times per week. Over the years i've noticed my hairline receding, and now I have a couple of bald spots in the back of my head, and my hair is thinning. (Im 17.5 now). After doing a lot of research, I found that testosterone is converted into DHT which kills hair follicles.
Avatar n tn I thought about testosterone replacement but with estradiol so high I wonder if I could have an aromatase deficiency and increase my testerone would increase my estradiol. I read about aromatase inhibitors which may be the answer. I should say that I'm in my mid 30s, obviously male, and rather overweight. Could you please tell me how bad or how out of range my estradiol level is?
Avatar f tn Sending you some info, by PM.
