Avatar n tn Also from my doctor, I learned that one can be both estrogen deficient and estrogen dominant at the same time if progesterone and estrogen are low, and due to our exposure to estrogens & phyto estrogens in environment and foods. So alot of balancing is required and diary your symptoms for your doctor, and balancing your doses of the creams based on your symptoms, always start low and work up, also know that with estrogen, the symptoms of too much and not enough, are the same.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm 41 and underwent a total hysterectomy 1 month ago. The Dr. started me on the patches right away. I just can't sleep! This is driving me nuts since I'm a teacher and need my rest. I look horrible and feel exhausted. Is that a side effect of the patches? Yesterday I was desperate and removed it to see what happens for a week or so. What can I do? I am desperate and of course do not want to age early nor break a leg if tripping on the street. Help!
Avatar f tn For the last several months I feel like I am crying at the drop of a hat, am more moody than usual and am irritated by most people and events. I feel tired most of the time yet I cannot sleep at night. I am known to be somewhat forgetful, but feel more so lately. I have no sex drive. I have had in the past and continue to have problems with constipation.

233616 tn?1312787196 estrogen liver fibrosis ....and get 684,000 hits. Apparently the benefit to protecting the liver is well documented and the research has been around for a while. Yet my liver doctor didn't mention it, or suggest I go back on it.....but I did it through my endocrinologist as soon as I found out. I'm wondering how many ladies in here are aware of this, have any doctors told you??? or whether any men have considered a small dose to help slow the progression of this disease?
Avatar m tn After that I fan myself until I cool enough to go back to sleep for another few hours. I am on low dose estrogen replacement. The bedroom is kept at 66 degrees and my nightclothes do not exist. Each time I awaken I have to go back to the bathroom. I do have a sip of water when I am trying to cool off but never more than 2 ounces. I need some good uninterupted sleep. Please help.
178345 tn?1242536246 Elizabeth Vliet comes along (google for her website) and says that women without Ovaries cannot utilize Progesterone well ( Progesterone was a lifesaver for me years ago, but in retrospect, it might be that I needed more estrogen and either the progesterone turned into estrogen .... a theory many hormone experts adhere to.... or it was just that the receptor cells for estrogen were not open...).
Avatar n tn If so then i would say that your tiredness through the day would be partly due to the lack of sleep your getting at night and anxiety. I have anxiety/panic disorder and that alone makes me very tired most days. As far as the motion feeling, I have that also and was told by my Dr that was one of the many many feelings anxiety can cause. To me it always feels like i'm sea sick. Are you on medications for your anxiety ?
Avatar f tn I had mine at 35, and had the worst issues with sleep. Estrogen helped, but I needed to take a sleep aid. It's been 20 years this year, and I'm still on a sleep med. Before the surgery, I could fall asleep anywhere. After, sleep became a real issue. Talk to your doctor. I don't know why you had your surgery, and if taking estrogen is not appropriate, but there are several medications that are safe that can help you sleep.
Avatar n tn ve looked it up on the internet that no estrogen can cause insomnia and other problems like depression too. I have been sad and experiencing more anxiety just because I'm not getting sleep like I use to. I went to a neurologist who thinks I have obstructive sleep apnea. I don't think I do. I'm not overweight and I barely snore. I'm thinking of calling a different gynecologist to see if they can do some blood work and see if the real problem for my insomnia is no estrogen.
534800 tn?1217167359 I have been living with a host of menopausal symptoms for over two years now (hot flashes, sweats, chronic insomnia, mood swings, migraines, exhaustion, you name it) and I feel the lack of sleep is severely affecting my overall mood at this point and causing great tension between myself and my family. I cannot seem to get my estrogen leveled out (try everything natural, no interest in drugs or hormones) and nothing seems to work right now.
Avatar n tn I am a 53 yr old with hashimotos. Menopause since 40 and on estrogen/progesterone replacement. since I work in a medical lab I have randomly tested my throid levels at times when I suspect things are not right. My levels during time of tachychardia(normal sinus rythym 130) (ER visit)are quite controversial such as TSH at 7 (N= .3-5.0) FT4 also elevated at 2.0 ( N=.5-1.7) This seems to randomly come and go. Lately my TSH has been at an elevated level of 11.5 with FT4 at 1.4.
572550 tn?1217185235 Your adorable Goldendoodle is leaking urine because she is a spayed female and has an estrogen dependent incontinence. Your veterinarian should run a urinalysis to rule out cystitis and radiograph her bladder to rule out bladder stones. There is a medicine called Proin which controls incontinence nicely. The tucked vulva is probably unrelated.
Avatar f tn This same day, I started bio-identical hormone therapy in the form of estrogen and testosterone pellets. The blood tests also revealed I was hypothyroid. The Dr prescribed Armour thyroid, 1gr per day. I started gaining weight immediately. The first month after starting BRT, I gained 8 lbs. I was also extremely tired. I had another hormone blood panel done and it revealed I was still low in estrogen. The Dr inserted an estrogen “booster” pellet at this time.
Avatar f tn Test showed high testosterone, high estrogen, and darn near no progesterone. Prescribed est. and prog. and those are supposedly good now...but if I'm normal how come i feel AWEFUL? I'm exhausted, wake up 3 or 4 times throughout the night, am gaining a LOT of weight (30 lbs in the last 6 months) and while i admit i dont always eat healthy...there is NO way im eating enough to warrant that...
Avatar f tn I was eventually diagnosed as hyper-thyroid last year when I developed major insomnia. The thyroid hormones were over the limit but not that high. I was put on low dose carbimizole. Slowly slowly my sleep began to improve. But now a year later I can't sleep again. Only couple hours a night. I'm also getting very hot again at night and keep throwing off the covers. I recently had my thyroid function tested. I am on the borderline for being high, sorry don't have the specifics.
Avatar f tn Estrogen-like substances, like Wild Yam cream, and eating a lot of soy? If those are too much like estrogen, I've also heard that Zoloft helps ease hot flashes.
Avatar n tn i need to know the Progesterone and Estrogen levels after one week of Embryo Transfer?
Avatar f tn Help, I feel horny everyday especially when I wake up or about to sleep. Is this normal? I’m a 20 yr old girl, I feel aroused automatically sometimes without trigger and with trigger. I don’t know how to handle this since it has been going on since I was 15. My body gets hot and I feel like coming every time, at most I would get horny 5 times a day.
Avatar n tn Although progesterone can help with sleep, it may not be needed once you get enough estrogen into your system. And some women cannot tolerate progesterone due to that "hangover" or drowsiness effect. And it can dampen the effects of estrogen causing symptoms of estrogen deficiency. It's best to get your estrogen delivery route and dosage "settled" and then add another hormone(s) if you want to try something else.
Avatar f tn Do i have to forego any career and sit tight in my low wage low hours job for the rest of my life achieving nothin because of this damn menopause - the government wont susidise me. Im only getting six hours sleep a night and thats on valerian. Im wasted!
Avatar n tn Liver dysfunction (get liver enzymes done—liver function test), kidney dysfunction (get kidney function test done), and anemia can make a person appear drunk. Poor sleep pattern and sleep problems like sleep apnea too can cause brain fog. Sleep studies by sleep specialists can help diagnose this. Low Vit D or Vit B12 too could be the cause. From you symptoms alone it also sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome.
Avatar f tn I am 62 years old and post menopausal (for 6 rs) I was advised to see a psychiatrists, who has prescribed countless medications, including ativan, klonopin, clonodine, seroquel for sleep, and several anti depressants. I have also been seeing a psychologist for 3 years and countless other doctors such as MD's and OB's. After much research I decided to ask my OB to test my hormones and have been on bio-identical hormones since October, 2010. After 4 months of treatment.
Avatar n tn My Gyno said that I have probably an estrogen dominancy and I should increase progesterone on 200 mg. I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
