the 3rd, my question to you is, I think she has bipolar disorder, but she does not want to belive it, can that lead up to a seizure, and she always has a headache, can all of this be a cause for what happend on sat?
So in August 2007 ovaries were removed . During this time, the seizures stopped and about 3 weeks after surgery seizures started again..The doctors had me up to 600mg of dilantin a day..I am 4 foot 9 inches and weight about 105 lbs now. The first EEG I had shown something wrong on the left side of my head and the second showed normal..but something is funny about that because I don't feel all normal..yet.I am also on topamax. Plus, my estrogen is still not leveled out right yet..
I also think that the soy causes my body to retain fluids, and excess fluids in my body will cause me to have seizures. Is my analysis correct? Do you have any Neurologists in the Cleveland Clinic that have experience working with patients with epilepsy that are having these kind of problems?
I have read that these seizures can generalize and cause brain damage and I would like to know what I can do to abate that. I am not on any medication for this disorder at present time. Is this true about the generalization (I fear this may be true, from the increasing of my symptoms), and should I be on medication? Also, from what I read of others symptoms, their episodes only last seconds to a few minutes ... and mine last for days to weeks. Is this significant?
i took it and it made me loose 20 pounds and for the seizures just stay away from caffeine, my doctor said a lot of caffeine while taking wellbutrin could cause seizures. other than that it helped me a lot. It's one of the best for depression in my book.
1st biopsy showed R/L portal and lobular hepatitis. 3 out of 4 inflammation. and bridging fibrosis. 3 yrs later had another biopsy. Nothing changed. put on stronger dose of Immuran and also put on Entocort. Sorry if this seemed jumbled...
I have been getting these for 1 1/2 years. They usually happen around the time of my period (either right before, during or 1-2 days after). I get nausea - sometimes profuse vomitting, diarrhea, slurred speech, difficulty walking, altered vision & hearing, ALL the muscles in my body (including heart & lungs) tighten and then I shake and jerk - usually only my arms & neck shake and jerk - I have had it in my legs before. These are very, very painful.
OK Not a diabetic, been healthy my whole life , I hiked in mtns, I was active.
This seemed to remove all fluid from my system and I would have no seizures that month. Now that there is soy in the food that we are eating, is it correct for me to assume that estrogen is being put into my system and there is no progesterone in my system to halt the seizures that are being started. Therefore, do I need to add progesterone to my system to halt these seizures? I currently take 400 mg. of Tegretol twice a day, and could progesterone be taken with Tegretol safely?
slight flush, deja vu and a metallic taste in my mouth. I am taking 1200 mgs of Tegretol, and 50 mgs of Topamax daily. About a year ago I started through menopause. My periods would only come every 3 or 4 mos. Therefore I would only have auras every 3 or 4 mos. Six weeks ago I had a total hysterectomy and my Gynecologist keeps insisting that I need to be on some type of hormone pill. Everytime I try to take these hormone pills I have the auras every so often.
There are several medications, both new and old, that may be effective in controlling your seizures (I am assuming parial seizures). They include phenytoin, lamictal, and topiramate. Phenobarb can be used but it may be more sedating. Many of the drugs require specific drug levels therefore, they need to be taken on a daily basis. Some of the medications can be used alone or in combination. The goal is to find the lowest effective dose to control seizures and avoid side effects.
I had sweats like that going through menopause when I had a imbalance of progesterone and estrogen. I also had shortages of vitd3, b12, dhea , etc. but the hormones caused the sweats. I saw a bio identical dr for that and they also looked at my thyoid as well.
blurred vision, double vision, unsteadiness and nausea dizziness and headaches. Gynecomastia is the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males resulting in breast enlargement. the breast development shrinks or disappears within a couple of years In adolescent boys the condition is often a source of distress. The causes of common gynecomastia remain uncertain, although it has generally been attributed to an imbalance of sex hormones or the tissue responsiveness to them.
At first I went a little crazy but now am better. Sodas taste really nasty to me and i normally am the first to want some kind of sweet and recently I can't even look at it. I was also told that you are suppose to lose some weight which I am very excited about especially after two kids. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this medicine and when they started losing their weight.
You might want to go to The Neurology and Neurosurgery Forum of this site. There is a recent question titled "complex partial seizures," and the neurologist who answered it addressed the question of sexual dysfunction and epilepsy. I'm sure the doctor in the present forum will have other comments regarding the psychosocial issues involved, but I just thought that this other question and answer might offer you additional information. Good luck.
Fu Zheng, a Chinese formula for rebuilding the system that helps after chemo and radiation and surgery and such (you can get it from Herbalist and Alchemist), and wheat grass, preferably fresh juiced by you but you can get it in powder form as well, or even tablets. It will help both to invigorate you and cleanse your liver. After a bit, when you're well past the chemo and radiation, a good liver cleanse would be a good idea, but it may be too soon for that.
Went back to the pediatrician, and she concurred the pediatric surgeon was the next step. So, we went today and he took one look at her and said it's premature thelarche and it's from exposure to estrogen. He says that it is probably from me and the breast feeding, so step one is to "rapidly wean" in 7-10 days. I was like, "WHAT?
I take topamax to control seizures and I must say that I am surprised doctors prescribe it for weight loss alone, and that you are willing to put up with the side effects of it just for weight loss when there are other weight loss drugs out there. The "goofiness and loss of words" bothers me tremendously. I have been taking it since April and that hasn't abated any. Unfortunately I did not experience any weight loss or loss of appetite from it like everyone says. I take 200 mg a day.
Can someone have both schizophrenia and ADD or ADHD? My latest psychiatrist seems to think I have ADD but that I have never been schizophrenic. He did not see me when I had 3 SEVERELY psychotic episodes all within about two years before I finally was put on an antipsychotic Zyprexa 7 to 8 years ago which worked like a charm. However, I am now on Abilify at 45 mg. and Lamictal 100mg. for now.
A gynecologist can measure the important hormone levels in your body to see where the foul-up is. These at a minimum would be an estrogen level, a LH and and FSH. I hope this helped.
I have constant grinding, popping, and cracking sounds in my joints all over my body, especially in my neck, very badly in my shoulders, my back, jaw, elbows, wrists, knees and hips. It does not usually hurt but my muscles and joints hurt and seem to be tense, weak and stiff. Can anxiety cause all of these CONSTANT symptoms? This problem is effecting my life and my relationships and I just want to feel normal and like my old self again.
and it was found that perhaps estrogen replacement, and certain hormones were not so great, and could cause more harm then good...

Anyway, I would appreciate it if Quix would compare the two MRI's and let me know if there are any differences...
I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.

Pineapple contains a proteolytic enzyme called bromelain which reduces inflammation and breaks up proteins that prevent embryo implantation Most of us probably buy low-fat milk rather than its full-fat counterpart, but it turns out that a high amount of low-fat dairy increases the risk of anovulation.
