t get pregnant that she was goin g to prescribe me estrogen pills to thicken my uterine walls. I did the clomid cycle and estrogen pills. Today I started my progesterone pills. Saturday I started experience lower back pain. I think I ovulated early also. I usually have ovulation on 16 day of luteal phase. I want to know if these symptoms I am having are side effects of medications? I'm currently taking. I forgot to mention I'm diagnosis with PCOS and currently lost 33 lbs.

I have not had ONE pregnancy symptom all along. I am on estrogen pills and progesterone in oil shots daily. I am tired but that is it-really no sore bbs, no morning sickness at all. Had we not seen the baby on the u/s I would not even believe I was pregnant. I know that doesn't happen to everyone but hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones too! Best of luck.

I am on 3 pills of estrace a day and a Vivelle patch every other day. Have been on it for 2 weeks now, gained about 5 lbs and go in this Friday for the transfer. You definitely do not want to go on the shot if you are looking for something that is not long lasting. Been there done that, and it can take a long time to get out of your system. I only tried the ring for two months. I bled the entire time I was on it! When you say you cannot take the pill are you referring to combination pills or all pills? I cannot take combination pills (pills with both estrogen & progesterone), but I can take the mini pill (progesterone only pill).

Now, there are many ways to regulate the menses and/or to supplement a woman with progesterone. You have been prescribed progesterone only pills, which is fine. A Mirena IUD and Depo Provera are other alternatives, again, if available. You could also start a estrogen/progesterone containing birth control pill (or alternatives available in your country) if you have no medical contraindications. What has been recommended by your doctor sounds fine.

I took 2 prometrium pills at night just because they make me very dizzy and there was no way I could take them in the morning and be able to function at work. The estace I took 2x a day and I had chest pain with them. The prometrium is progestrone and that is to help with your lining. I was also told that estace, which is estrogen was supposed to help me with my lining and my Doctor also told me it helps my chances with getting pregnant. Good luck this month. Both estrogen and progesterone are produced naturally by your body...at different rates and at different times of your cycle. Unless your doctor finds that you have a deficiency in either or the two, I would NOT take any supplements. If progesterone is taken at the wrong time of the month, for example, it can actually prevent you from getting pregnant.

I was prescribed the Progesterone and Estrogen pills and got them from my local pharmacy. Perhaps you should talk to your OB about prescribing you Progesterone too. Wouldnt hurt to try. Good luck and sending lots of baby dust your way!!

I was on crinone which is made to be taken as a suppository, but I have seen many other people say they are on the pills taken vaginally. My dr (for a completely different reason) had me take estrogen that way. I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. I took it until 11 weeks when I stopped both estrogen and progesterone. My RE did say, however, that the estrogen is not nearly as important as the progesterone, and like Helen said, some women don't use it at all. I was on the patch, so I basically just changed it every 3 days. wfaMiracle: It also says not to take progesterone while pregnant, but without it, an IVF pregnancy would most likely fail. So it's totally fine to take both hormones in early pregnancy.

Had I not had my period she would have tried another month of progesterone she would have done an estrogen-progesterone challenge to determine if estrogen was my problem. That entails taking birth control pills for 2-3 mos and seeing if you have a period when you are on the placebo pills given for cd 22-28. If you do that and still don't have your period, you have to have a very invasive test to check your cervix and uterus to make sure that the outflow tract is not obstructed.

Even the pill Yaz that you are taking contains estrogen, hence you should stop this immediately, and resort to some progesterone only preparation for birth control. Best..
