Avatar f tn As as result I have sexual side effects. Oxytocin was recommended by a friend but I researched and saw herpes mentioned in things to tell your dr. What I'm asking is does that only apply to pregnant women for the safety of the baby or is there also a reason for concern for myself who is not and will not be pregnant. I am a grandmother and I took every precaution to deliver 3 healthy babies including refusing medication of any kind for child birth.
Avatar m tn I'm thinking that you MIGHT find an answer on the Dermatology Forum. I don't think it will have anything to do with oxytocin though. Oxytocin is a hormone used almost exclusively to aid women during labor to stimulate contractions, to induce labor in cases of maternal diabetes, preeclampsia, eclampsia and erythroblastosts fetalis. Did someone tell you this drug would help with wrinkles? Perhaps you should speak with a plastic surgeon?
Avatar f tn I know that estrogen and serotonin production is supposed to go down, which would then also cause oxytocin levels to decrease, but the effects I'm feeling are as if all three are increasing instead. That shouldn't be possible, right? Does anyone know how I could go about figuring out what's going on hormonally so I could potentially extend it's effects beyond a week?
Avatar m tn Since oxytocin, dopamine, lactin, serotonin, testosterone, estrogen, vasopressin, and other major sex hormones are released during sex for various reasons, could increasing the major sex hormones directly responsible for the euphoric, pleasurable feelings during an orgasm increase the pleasure felt during an orgasm? I don't know how it would be done, but if you can think of ways that do not involve harmful drugs or any harmful method, please let me know.
Avatar f tn On April April 26th at 3 am I got up to go pee, I found it cold inside so I went to check the fire. I bent down to put a log in the fire and stood up and had a gush of fluid. At first I thought it was discharge because I still had a month to go before he was born, but more kept coming so I knew it was my water.
Avatar m tn Both act so similarly to estrogen that they’re known as phytoestrogens (plant produced estrogen). Eat enough of the stuff, and you open up the potential for hormonal havoc. this was from mens health magazine! If you have a thyroid condition don’t use soy! Soy isn’t good if you have inflammation! Only fermented soy is OK. Also if you look at just about all your products and read the ingredients you will see Soy listed! I’ve seen it even listed in tea!!
Avatar n tn The best thing you can do for your self is relax. Getting frustrated, anxious and stressed works against you. In labor, your body produces oxytocin. When stressed, you produce adrenaline, which counteracts oxytocin. Adrenaline can delay, stop and even reverse labor. Baby will be here soon. Give your body time to prepare.
Avatar n tn Nipple stimulation to induce labor releases oxytocin which is a labor hormone. Oxytocin makes your uterus contract.
Avatar f tn yes my mom said she had an induce labor with my little brother n they gave her oxytocin thru the iv n said she had my little brother with in 15 mins
Avatar f tn sex look up how to release oxytocin naturally oxytocin is what starts labor
776572 tn?1360290739 This is of particular relevance to me as I have been having daily, strong and even painful contractions since about week 20 and I know there is a causal relationship between oxytocin and uterine contractions....
Avatar f tn Its because when you have an orgasm your body releases s chemical called oxytocin.
Avatar f tn Sex and your partner's semen. It softens the cervix.
Avatar f tn I am not quite 5 weeks pregnant, this is our third pregnancy and I'm worried about having sex....anyone feel like that??? ....it's not that I don't want it, because I do but I'm so worried that I'll bleed or something terrible will happen...sigh!
Avatar f tn 39 weeks and my boyfriend and I still have sex and I am fine.
Avatar f tn Yes it does! And so does the sperm. So you can't go wrong with sex.
Avatar f tn Also, stress and anxiety work against labor by causing your body to produce adrenaline, which inhibits the production of oxytocin. Relaxing, helps reduce adrenalin and encourage oxytocin production. It is also believed that feelings of love also produce oxytocin. Try to relax and stay calm. Spend some time with your partner or loved ones. Prepare baby's clothes and spend time in her room. Get a pedicure. Take warm baths. Watch your favorite movies. Also, let gravity help you.
Avatar f tn So it's pretty much just squatting and holding the position that helps?
Avatar m tn it is released in large amounts after distension of the cervix and vagina during labor, and after stimulation of the nipples, facilitating birth and breastfeeding, respectively. Recent studies have begun to investigate oxytocin's role in various behaviors, including orgasm, social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, trust, love, and maternal behaviors.
Avatar f tn Trying everything in the book and stressing about it can actually delay your labor. Your body needs to produce oxytocin to start labor. Oxytocin is produced when you feel loved, when you are relaxed, when you have fun, when you orgasm and when you feel happy. Snuggle on the couch, watch a funny or feel good movie, get a massage or pedicure, hang out with people you love. As soon as you are relaxed and get rid of stress hormones, baby will make an entry.
Avatar f tn Yes it causes very painful contractions i tried once and decided to stop.
Avatar f tn It causes the hormone oxytocin to be released in the body. Oxytocin is the natural form of pitocin; the drug that induces labor.
Avatar f tn Nipple stimulation has been very successful in getting things going, but you have to so it for a few hours I believe. It releases oxytocin, which gets your cervix going. Sex and masturbation and any good cuddly happy feelings also release oxytocin, but the nipple thing seems to so it more.
Avatar f tn s more likely to actually work than just about anything else besides good sex. Sexual excitement and especially orgasm releases a hormone called oxytocin (also called "the love hormone" into the bloodstream. It's the same thing that gives you butterflies in your stomach when you have a big crush on someone. The synthetic version of oxytocin is something you've probably heard of - pitocin. Which is used to artificially induce labor. So yeah, playing with your nipples can help.
Avatar f tn Your body needs to produce oxytocin. As long as you are stressing and upset, you are keeping that from happening. Your body naturally produces oxytocin when you feel happy, relaxed and loved. I know you are uncomfortable, I've done this myself a number of times. However, you need to find a way to pull your self together and try to relax. Trust me, it will make labor and delivery far easier for you. Go take a warm bath. Go get a pedicure.
Avatar f tn Have been dialted at 3cm and effaced at 60% for 3 weeks now. No progress yet! I feel so uncomfortable down there like I'm being ripped apart. No contractions yet just the Braxton hicks. My doc said to go home walk and have lots and lots of sex....and im like oh nooo....ouchy. I'm in so much pain down there and the pressure is horrible. Any other ways to help speedy going into labor?
Avatar f tn I know everyone is different, but I'm 38 weeks today, and they started my oxytocin drip 1 hour 45 minutes ago. How long did everyone else tske to give birth once they started the induction? I started bleeding profusely, called my doctor and was told to come in.
Avatar f tn I heard light bouncing up and down on a bouncey ball or the edge of the bed will help the baby move downward.
