Avatar f tn So, while our estrogen levels fall by a certain percentage, our progesterone may drop far more. That may leave us estrogen dominant and adding more products that stimulate estrogen can lead to things like a thickening of the endometrium which, over time, can lead to precancerous or even cancerous situations. Estrogen and estrogen like compounds can be stored in fat while progesterone can't (especially if we are already overweight).
Avatar f tn For those who think Birth control pills might cause hyperthyroidism because you stopped taking it- I don't think that's true. I have been on the pill for 10 years. I never stopped taking it and I still developed Hyperthyroidism. If this also helps... I have a twin sister and she doesn't have Hyperthyroidism. However, my mom and my aunt has had hyperthyroidism. I got unlucky I guess. I am taking propranolol to help calm down my heart rate. It goes over 115 -120 sometimes.
Avatar f tn But then I wash my hands immediately after with soap and water. I spoke to the lady from the Herpes Association and she said that I cannot re-infect myself after my initial event. I figured this must be the second event because of everything that has been happening before this one. I hadn't shaved in a while and I was wondering if that is the reason why the doctors cannot see my vagina well enough to see if I have anything down there. So I washed my hands and shaved.
Avatar f tn I was having abdominal pain and went to the er to find that I was pregnant in my tube and had a cyst. Had surgery to remove both to still be in pain 6 weeks later and find that I'm still pregnant but in my uterus. Now my body is working overtime to keep the pregnancy since my womb hasn't fully healed from the trauma of the surgery. So now I'm extremely high-risk of a miscarriage. I'm nervous!!!!
Avatar f tn So I'm a ftm about 9 weeks along. We baby sat my 4 month old nephew today for the first time. (he's a premiee also) and I've suddenly started to freak out....he doesn't calm down for me like he does for my husband. I'm worried that I will be horrible at this, maybe the instinct hasn't kicked in and it will be different with our child. Do anyone else worry like this? I know I'm probably just overreacting.

Avatar f tn m 19 weeks. I was 20 weeks and 4 days along when I found out I was having a girl in my first pregnancy and they almost couldn't tell. I was 20 weeks 2 days with my second pregnancy and they also almost couldn't tell. I feel like I should wait longer. Oh and is it also selfish of me to want to be the only one to know the gender for awhile? I'm getting a lot of hell for that. Everyone who knows me knows I'm horrible at keeping secrets so I don't get why they're so upset.

1755386 tn?1312584941 Most people who take Cytomel split the dose and take half with their Synthoid in the morning and the other half sometime in the afternoon. Cytomel is very fast-acting, so if you don't split it, you can experience peaks and valleys in your levels throughout the day. You can experiment with when it's best for you to take the second half dose, but most people try to take it before about 3:00 in the afternoon (depending on schedule, of course) so that it doesn't disturb sleep.
Avatar f tn m 11 weeks pregnant now and everything is perfectly fine. Just try not to let it get to you cuz there is no point in stressing.

Avatar f tn What can I do about nervousness. I have seen several Dr's. They say things like "Why Do you want to be nervous"? Who wants to be nervous? I need to know if there is a drug that I can take that will help. It seems that I have been nervous in my head all of my life. Avatar f tn I have had butterflies in my stomach ever since - it just feels like a constant knot in my stomach. Avatar n tn However, anxiety to me would point to cortisol, not DHEA (dhea raises estrogen and testosterone) as high cortisol raises DHEA so that indicates Cushing's syndrome - and you just may not have all the other symptoms yet but it would be wonderful to get treated before your body gets damaged. I had pituitary Cushing's. Had pit and adrenal surgery.
Avatar f tn I recommend reading at least the first two pages, and more, if you want to get into the discussion and scientific evidence for all that is recommended in the paper. http://www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/TUK_PDFs/diagnosis_and_treatment_of_hypothyroidism_issue_1.pdf Don't be surprised if the Endo is one of those doctors that only pay attention to TSH.
