Hi, Well, where to begin... I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10 or 11 years ago. I've been on Synthroid or Levothyroxin 50mcg. In the past 5 years I seem to feel more tired, gain more weight and now I'm diagnosed with carpal tunnel. I also seem to have many of the symtoms like high cholesteral, easy bruising, unhealthy nails, acid indigestion, intolarance to cold, joint pain, and loss of the outside of my eyebrows.

) ANYWAY, two days on the estrogen lotion and my shoulder pain and weakness and let up SO MUCH! This is the first time I have had any relief in about 5 years. Anyway, this is just a suggestion and I hope that you find relief soon because I def know where you are coming from!!

I'm curious because my friends who had girls said that their hair, skin, and nails were so nice. Maybe the extra estrogen?

I think it depends on your hair type and condition before taking them. I already had pretty healthy hair that grows really fast, so maybe I don't notice it as much.

Once Hair loss has accoured it takes a good six months to see improvement. Hair and Nails after Cancer and or any type of surgery can cause hairloss. three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.

I am new to this forum, and new to the world of menopause. I recently had my last ovary removed due to cysts and endometreosis. I did not want to go through menopause or life with no estrogen at age 35, so I opted for the estrogen hormone therapy. I chose to go with the Estradiol patches. I think that it regulates the estrogen more efficiently and you can't forget to take a pill! Let me give you my two cents on your issues...know that I am not a dr., but am going through this myself.
