471161 tn?1317190950 Premerin contains only estrogen and is used primarily in the prevention and management of osteoporosis, vasomotor symptoms and vaginal dryness associated with menopause. Although the relationship between estrogen and autoimmune disorders is not clear, such hormones can stimulate some chronic infections. This may be why it can be associated with DILE (Drug Induced Lupus). The majority of Lupus patients have chronic infections.
Avatar f tn I have also been tested for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus and I do not have those and I do not have any other ones that I know of.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
Avatar f tn I have had many tests done and so far, lupus, Rheumatic fever have been ruled out. The only strange result was my Sed rate. please, if you have any input I would greatly and deeply appreciate it.
200220 tn?1361951554 My holistic doctor gave me natural progesterone cream to use to help me stabilize my moods and pick up the free estrogen that is floating in my body. My question to you is it dangerous to use with taking levothyroxine 37.5 with having hashimotor disease. My doctor is an MD also and seem to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid along with helping me with celiac disease. What is your experience with this natural product.
Avatar f tn I just remembered how my hair fell out a lot after my first child was born, before I was hypoT. Maybe ANY hormonal imbalance contributes to hair loss? We all know how a limping thyroid throws the entire hormonal (aka endocrine) system out of balance. Perhaps once our thyroid is balanced, we still have to contend with getting all our other hormones balanced. Maybe having our thyroid back up and running isn't enough to repair and balance the rest of our system that got out-of-whack.
Avatar m tn It serves as a pre-curser for the sex hormones, androgen and estrogen. There is evidence in support of the use of DHEA for help with adrenal insufficiency, depression, and lupus; however; there are no studies of long term effects. DHEA may increase the risk of prostate, breast, or any hormone sensitive cancers and it is recommended only to be taken under the supervision of a MD.
Avatar f tn 1 pmol/L), TSH (0.75 mU/L), estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, CBC and biochemistry profile, also normal profiles for immune function, immunoglobins and negative for lupus etc. Anyone with experience/expertise on normal T4/TSH levels with abnormal T3 levels? Or any other rule outs for these symptoms.
Avatar f tn Did you ever figure out what the issue is? I also have swollen ankles, feet, and lower legs too. My doctor is sending me to neurology. It's so bad sometimes I can't walk well and I pull muscles/tendons. It can also be very painful. I don't have the red splotches or numb spots that you describe. Like you, I watch my sodium, don't sit or stand for too long, and have had all the blood tests I should.

903476 tn?1242237037 But without fail as soon as spring rolls around they start, them summer I am black and blue(about 40 bruises at once) then fall and they slow down and in winter they stop. I'm not really any more active in the summer as I have said I'm too fair to go out in the sun. I don't know what causes them and some of them can be very painful. Also no one wants to look like they just lost a round with Mike Tyson.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar f tn I remember that prior to starting treatment in Sept 09, I read somewhere that being post menopause would be a negative strike against me but I still opted to NOT take estrogen. I have been in surgical menopause since 1996, I took estrogen for 10 years and then quit because of the increased chance of breast cancer after taking estrogen so many years. I finished treatment (without taking estrogen since 2006) and I achieved SVR.
Avatar m tn I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking. Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Avatar m tn three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. My husband thinks the pnemunia/fever rearranged my hormones and it will take awhile for them to settle down. I am 57 and was pretty stable on the bi-est. has this ever happened to anyone else?? Thx!
Avatar f tn I have just about every symptom for low thyroid a person can have! However, I've also recently been diagnosed with Lupus. Previously diagnosed with a few versions of Lichen, so I don't know if it's Lichen, Lupus, or thyroid making me dry and itchy. I don't know whether it's thyroid or lupus that's causing extreme exhaustion. I have cold hands and feet as a general basis, but also mild Reynauds. My eyes are dry, tired, sometimes blurry, but which AI is it?
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum, and new to the world of menopause. I recently had my last ovary removed due to cysts and endometreosis. I did not want to go through menopause or life with no estrogen at age 35, so I opted for the estrogen hormone therapy. I chose to go with the Estradiol patches. I think that it regulates the estrogen more efficiently and you can't forget to take a pill! Let me give you my two cents on your issues...know that I am not a dr., but am going through this myself.
587083 tn?1327120262 Soy and estrogen: I've read much conflicting information about this, but what I believe we can say for sure is that soy products (soy milk, tofu, edamame) supply a weak form of estrogen from plant sources, called phytoestrogens. With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
