m 48 and get bad leg cramps/pain and also knee and ankle pain, mostly in the evening. I have tried calcium, and magnesium supplements because I read they help, but I didn't notice any change. My doctor said in addition to being in menopause, I have no Vitamin D in my system. I read that this can also cause muscle aches. If you guys figure it out, please post and let us know.

I am now being sent for bone scans of hip, groin, spine and knee. I still have the left knee pain which the orphapedic said may need an operation see what the bone scans show up. I am so worried about cancer i dont know why but i am so scared that this pain in my knee is something bad like a tumor. I have no swelling and it is tender to touch the bones on my knee. The pain is over the outside of my knee cap not the bottom its more at the top and sides. Please please someone help.
And that it is reduced by taking Evening Primerose oil. So I rushed to the store and bought some. And it made my pain markedly worse.
Apparently, it includes soy and soy lecithin. Soy lecithin must be extremely high in B6, because anywhere it is found (and it's found as a filler in many many foods), it causes me tremendous pain.
Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen.
I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods.
I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Please tell me, how can I know if I have estrogen receptor cells active? Why does it affect some women and not others? Can extra bad estrogen cause cancer, or would one have to have cancer type cells? I just don't understand anything.
My results will come out tomorrow. In the meantime, I have no peace of mind. Please help me. Thanks.
About ten years ago I developed this morning anxiety, and for the exception of a few months here and there because of knee replacements and other operations (I guess the pain took the place of anxiety) I have had it EVERY morning. My thyroid has fluctuated horribly for the past eight or so years and is still doing so. I have a physical in two weeks and am going to request a trial on Armour. Needless to say it gets me down horribly.
Then started having testicular pain and sharp pain in the rectum (Urologist diagnosed rectum pain as pelvic floor problem and physical therapy has been helping the rectum pain only). At first they suspected I had low testosterone but now my levels are 700 and all my blood tests are normal. I have had MRI of brain, thoracic, sacrum, and lumbar. Only thing that showed up was L5-S1 degenerative disk disease and slight S1 compression but neurologists said it can't cause these symptoms.
What type of pain is this that hits the right knee abruptly even like lightning so swift, and travels from the knee straight through the thigh nerve and/or tissues, shooting straight to the joint of the thigh and groins that lasts at least one to two minutes. Sometime the pain is so severe even after it has left I can still feel the pressure it leaves behind.
I have pains in my legs(muscle aches), my right arm and right knee cap. Sometimes it so difficult to walk the stairs. Sometimes at night my arms ache and my fingers especially the right gets numb so it disturbes my sleep. I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes. I get tired very easily. I was on Crestor and my husband told me to stop taking it. I am really worried. Can you help?
I have stage IV breast cancer metastasized to bone (skull, spine upper part of long bones (arms and legs) sacral area and ribs. So far have had success with mastectomy and estrogen blocker. Stable scans since Aug 2011, when diagnosed. I noted another person on MedHelp with metastatic breast cancer that is 6 (SIX!!) 100 mcg fentanyl patches. My question is: Just how painful is this going to get?? I am on one 50 mcg fentanyl patchy q. 72 hours with hydrocodone for breakthrough pain.
There are non- or less-invasive treatments (physical therapy, pain management specialists, synvisc injections, custom knee braces) that could alleviate some of the pain and stave off the inevitable. You may be able to get relief with a partial knee replacement, if one side of your knee is significantly worse than the other.

I am just wondering how long it could take for a quad muscle to heal from a direct blow but with no bruising and if the weakness in the VMO muscle could cause my knee to pop and IT band to snap at times and cause pain in my pes anserine bursa. I did see a orthopedic who said he is not sure. X-rays were negative but I have a high deductable insurance so I am trying not to get an MRI.
I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving.
My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking.
Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Within, the last three years I have had 6 knee replacements and 2 staph infection removals in the same knee. I started with dilauid 10mgand then my surgeon put me on OxyContin 10mg. However, my pain became worst so I was sent to a pain management doctor who know has me on 15mg OxyContin and 15mg morphine er.
Thanks for replying. My doctor has made no official diagnosis but asked me to bend and flex my knee and leg this way and that. She said that my knee joint is a bit loose. I'm getting an x ray to find out and physio but I'm still waiting on both of these letters to get to me. I'll use the codeine and I have laxatives at home. I've been drinking more water lately so a bit more might help.
I dislocated my knee cap badly a few weeks ago while i was on holiday. I was told by the specialist that i have snapped the ligaments and my leg was to be in a cast from thigh to ankle for 6 weeks before physio started if the ligaments healed, if they didnt heal i would need surgery to put fake ones in. When i got home the cast had slipped and i hadnt got the notes sent through so i went up to A & E to see what they said and they have changed me to a leg brace.
After some 3 to 4 months later in the same area there is tinigling sensation develop, this tingling slowly progressive towards thigh region
1 yr back pain in the lateral aspect of the left popliteal fossa develop which is sharp and burning nature and radiating towards calf muscles.
He told me to do leg presses and extensions to build up my quads. Unfortunately, this only aggravated my knee more and did not return for over a year due to financial difficulty. A month ago, I returned and he gave me a cortisone shot. It did not get rid of the irritation completely but it seemed to shorten the duration of symptoms. In the meantime, I have been going to physical therapy.
