Avatar n tn I have severe joint pain and I am hyperthryoid. I also need estrogen. I will post any success I have in getting relief to the joint pain! Good luck!
1017213 tn?1301771273 The dr kept blaming it on eating fat stuff because my colestoral levels were high. But I was dieting and exercising! Then finially I got joint pain and went to a neurologist that then at last took a thyroid test and I was hypo. Every endio told me you lose weight when on thyroid replacement meds. My friend has. I however have to work at it hard! But it was possible for me. The joint pain I have is sjoergrens syndrome that sometimes goes hand in hand with hypo.
Avatar f tn I had 6x chemo treatments and 6 weeks of radiation. 12 years later I still suffer from chronic joint pain which becomes all over pain by the end of the day. I drag myself to work, and collapse on my bed after work. At times I wonder if it was worth the treatment, as I am so sore I am not able to do much. I take pain medication to get through the day. Have any other sufferers any advice re: new meds to treat the pain.
Avatar f tn hips, knees, shoulders and hand tremors ever since.Has anyone else had?
371473 tn?1198810190 I am 36 year old female. I have joint pain in both my hands and feet. I also feel tendon and surrounding tissues inflammation around joints. I am experiencing major stiffness in some of my joints in the morning - e.g right hand middle finger middle joint but not left one as much. My feet hurt especially after walking for longer than half an hour. Sometimes pain is worse when I walk and somtimes when I am resting. I am taking mobic and narcotics for pain which only sometimes help.
Avatar f tn Im a 29yr old female and have severe pain in many of my joints. Mostly hips and ankles but the grinding happens in my wrists often and sometimes my elbows. Funny that I wake up feeling worse than I do at the end of a long work day. After sitting in a comfy chair to long I cant stand up straight til after a few steps. Long car rides kill my hips and ankles because I cant keep them moving. Sometimes I feel like I am locking up.
Avatar f tn I am a breast cancer survivor for 3.5 years. After surgery, I had radiation therapy, plus taking tamoxifen. My cancer is stage 1 and grade 1Gradually, my hot flash is stopped and my life is back to near normal. I noticed that I always very thirsty, my eyes are dry, my skin, hair also dry. I also have joint pain occurred in joint, both small and large joint.
Avatar n tn Could it be your tamoxifen causing the joint pain? I took Arimidex for 6 months until joint pain started moving thoughout. Switched to Aromasin and the joint pain stopped. 18 month later now my hips are starting to hurt pretty regularily, will discuss with oncologist next visit. Basically blocking all the Estrogen is not a great thing for the joints.
Avatar f tn t know if it will help and it is not chemo but I am 16 months past chemo and have been on an estrogen blocker the whole time. My tumor was estrogen positive.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy can wreak havoc on your hormone balance, which could account for the joint pain. Estrogen softens ligaments and tendons in preparation for childbirth - it allowed the baby to pass through the pelvis easier. After two pregnancies in a pretty short time, it could be hour hormones are out of whack and causing menopausal type symptoms: hot flushes, sweats, irritability, difficult weight loss, etc. An endocrinologist might be the specialist to ask for.
107366 tn?1305680375 But my doc wants to treat as if I do have Breast Cacer because of the relation to estrogen). But, I have noticed more and more pain the longer I take it. My ankles, legs, knees, arms and wrists get so stiff and sore, and I feel like I'm 90 when I try to get up. I have oral pain meds...Lortab...but I work full time, and it's hard to pop a pill and head out the door to drive an hour's commute. Any suggestions on how to manage the pain?
Avatar f tn s hair but not others. Joint pain is also fairly common after menopause when the ovaries produce less estrogen (although they produce a bit of testosterone for decades after menopause - at least to age 80). Have you had a complete endocrine workup to see if the POF could be from an endocrine abnormality such as thyroid, pituitary or adrenal? Of course, some medical treatments such as radiation and chemo can cause POF too.
Avatar f tn First, it began with pelvic pain and lead to menstrual irregularity (my menstruation would not stop for 5 months). I was put on BCP - Ortho-Tri - and it stopped my 24/7 menstruation more or less, but not the pelvic pain. Plus, BCP makes my moods highly irregular and my hair to fall out in chunks. I got off BCP after 3 months of crazy side effects and my hair loss/mood swings/bloat went away. But my menstruation got crazy again. I was then put on Synthroid (0.25 at first, then up to 0.
Avatar n tn Hi, Well, where to begin... I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 10 or 11 years ago. I've been on Synthroid or Levothyroxin 50mcg. In the past 5 years I seem to feel more tired, gain more weight and now I'm diagnosed with carpal tunnel. I also seem to have many of the symtoms like high cholesteral, easy bruising, unhealthy nails, acid indigestion, intolarance to cold, joint pain, and loss of the outside of my eyebrows.
Avatar f tn It's not a birth control but lowed estrogen levels and forces on menopause. I should only be on for 6 months. Then luperon shots. In the meantime, walking is a huge challenge every day due to joint/muscle pain. My dr doesn't think the two are related. However, what else can it be? Other than endometriosis, I'm a completely healthy and fit 39 year old.
Avatar f tn I have had quite a number of auto-immune issues and have heard that estrogen dominance (search on the web, very interesting) could be a cause of those and the swelling (and many estrogen related gynological issues) and there are things we can eliminate from our lives/diets and take supplements that may help. If you are on HRT and it is only estrogen that could be causing the problem.
Avatar f tn Some kind of very low dose of estrogen or use of estrogen creme should be allowed to stop this pain. I know the doctors say NO ESTROGEN as the cancer will return. Well it may return on its own and I do not like to take this pain medication. What research says that we women must go totally against what God put into us? We are all still guinie pigs in this treatment or so it seems to me and I really get tired of having to think constantly about this cancer.
Avatar f tn It did relieve the hot flashes but I think it has also caused depression and joint pain (knees and feet). UGH! I just took it off and threw it away. NOT WORTH IT.
577700 tn?1217892127 I final got on Armour and trying to figure out how to take it with the other meds that I take. I take estrogen and iron as well as a wellbutrin. I have been taking Armour sublingual, my question is can I take the other meds at the same time since they are being swallowed?
Avatar f tn Just to add to what Lauren said regarding tamoxifen vs. other AI's, they do work differently in the body. Tamoxifen works by blocking the body's use of estrogen, whereas AI's reduce the amount of estrogen present in the body. In studies of breast cancer patients, AI's have proven to work better than tamoxifen in preventing recurrence, and there are far fewer serious side effects with AI's than with tamoxifen, too. Tamoxifen can cause blood clots, and stroke..
Avatar n tn I saw my gynecologist and she explained to me that the pain was due to the rise and fall of estrogen. My levels were low, but I was still producing estrogen during my cycle. I have had a hysterectomy, but I still have my ovaries. She suggested I take something like Estroven to keep an even level of estrogen in my system. I did not want to go on a low dose estrogen patch as she offered.
Avatar f tn All of the estrogen blockers cause bone and joint pain. Mine started during chemo and got much worse with tamoxifen.
Avatar n tn the most common side effects seen with ARIMIDEX include hot flashes, joint symptoms, weakness, mood changes, pain, sore throat, nausea and vomiting, depression, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, swelling of arms/legs, and headache. Fractures (including fractures of the spine, hip, and wrist) occurred more frequently with ARIMIDEX than with tamoxifen (10% vs 7%). As for the burning...I,personally,have never been able to use anything but Ivory. Allergies.
Avatar f tn I had a spare total hysterectomy and bilateral silpango oophorectomy two years ago no hrt in the past yr my body has all but given up 40lbs later severe joint pain and mood,?
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear you had ovarian cancer. The loss of estrogen can cause joint and muscle pain as well as fatigue so that may be a contributing factor. Hysterectomy can cause reduced nerve and blood flow to extremities although chemo would probably be the primary cause of the neuropathy.
Avatar n tn Aromatase inhibitors would be too much for my system with joint pain and the chance for ostopenia or worse, osteoporosis. As much as I miss my estrogen, I do want it blocked because it fed my cancer and I do not want to have to deal with that again.
Avatar f tn I have been to the doctor and am doing well. No cancer. One year later I have started with joint pain in my feet, knees , fingers, hips and arm and shoulder joints. When I sit I can hardly get up and going until it passes. In the morning it hurts in my feet and ankles to start walking but passes. Is this residuals from the chemo?
