Common Questions and Answers about Estrogen and gas

Avatar f tn She suggested that I douche with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water. This actually helps me and it reduces the gas for several weeks typically. I think the gas must come from some of the flora that lives in the vagina. The balance can change at different times. I think mine has changed with menopause and that is causing the creation of vaginal gas.
982214 tn?1471454781 Hi. I know we're all different, but I also just went through my first IVF ;) My transfer was on July 14, a single 5-day blast transfer. On the 17th, I started getting cramps here & there & by the 19th I had pretty bad cramps, then nausea... I just got my BFP on Friday and am waiting for my 2nd beta results today. (SO nervous!) Anyway, I just wanted to wish you my best & let you know you're not alone in your symptoms!
695036 tn?1228405969 Caffeine increases the amount of acid in the body and interferes with the acid-base balance thus causing the body to produce more Estrogen than Progesterone. It's not only coffee ... tea, high energy drinks and chocolate are also caffeine rich. Most regular soda today is caffeine free.
Avatar n tn There is often a window of time - can be months or even years - where ovaries function intermittently before finally ceasing to release eggs and produce large amounts of estrogen permanently. So...the variable FSH levels are OK, a normal physiologic occurrence, that you can rest easy about.
Avatar m tn I have been recommended to have a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo oophrorectomy as a means of shutting down the estrogen my body continues to produce. I am 48 and had breast cancer 7 years ago which was estrogen receptor positive (meaning: estrogen makes this type of cancer grow faster). However, I was diagnosed early stage and there is no history of breast cancer in my family. I was treated with a lumpectomy followed by four rounds of chemo and 30+ rounds of radiation.
Avatar f tn I'm a healthy female vegetarian in my 20s, and I never have bowel issues. However, I am having a very unpleasant problem! Four days ago while making bread, I tasted my sourdough starter (a fermented slop of wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria), and now I'm having foul, foul smelling gas, stomach noises, and rancid stools.
Avatar n tn I am still burping and have a lot of gas. All these symptoms get so confusing.... with the pressure and back pain and bloating..things seemed confused! I am having blood work Friday and may ask for an exam before the MRI next week. My last USound was April 08 and lining of uterus was 3mm at that time and ovaries not visible. Thanks for your info.
Avatar f tn It has been going on now for a month and a half. Went to gyno and she said it was because I had uterine fibroids and one very large rear fibroid. She gave me a muscle relaxer/anti inflammatory prescription med, some no estrogen birth control, pain meds, and told me to use heating pads, keep legs raised, and pain should go away. It did not go away stayed the same and got worse depending on the day.
Avatar f tn Both surgeries were done laparoscopically and both were fine. Worse part of the recovery is the gas - they use carbon dioxide to inflate your abdomen. The gas becomes trapped inside and has no where to go, causing pain and discomfort in your rib cage area all the up to your shoulder blades. This slowly passes over a few weeks. I recommend resting completely after surgery and then for the next full 24 hours after that.
Avatar f tn As well as the discharge and bloated do you also have gas or wind?I have spasms in left side that are made worse by certain foods especially coffee.Sounds like IBS to me,get your doctor to confirm it and if it is then you need to change your diet asap. Not too much fibre and only 2 portions of fruit per day as any more makes IBS a lot more severe.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar f tn I remember that prior to starting treatment in Sept 09, I read somewhere that being post menopause would be a negative strike against me but I still opted to NOT take estrogen. I have been in surgical menopause since 1996, I took estrogen for 10 years and then quit because of the increased chance of breast cancer after taking estrogen so many years. I finished treatment (without taking estrogen since 2006) and I achieved SVR.
Avatar m tn I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking. Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Avatar m tn three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. My husband thinks the pnemunia/fever rearranged my hormones and it will take awhile for them to settle down. I am 57 and was pretty stable on the bi-est. has this ever happened to anyone else?? Thx!
659709 tn?1225234468 After menopause many women struggle with bladder issues since the lowered amount (or NO amount for women who had ovaries removed) of estrogen causes that area to atrophy and this changes the shape of the ureter... not fun. I am on supplemental estrogen and testosterone and yet there are some days I still have to practically stand on my head (almost...trying to empty the bladder) to finish "peeing" ...sorry!
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum, and new to the world of menopause. I recently had my last ovary removed due to cysts and endometreosis. I did not want to go through menopause or life with no estrogen at age 35, so I opted for the estrogen hormone therapy. I chose to go with the Estradiol patches. I think that it regulates the estrogen more efficiently and you can't forget to take a pill! Let me give you my two cents on your issues...know that I am not a dr., but am going through this myself.
587083 tn?1327120262 Soy and estrogen: I've read much conflicting information about this, but what I believe we can say for sure is that soy products (soy milk, tofu, edamame) supply a weak form of estrogen from plant sources, called phytoestrogens. With menopause your body stops making estrogen. Eating soy products seems to boost the estrogen a bit, but is that good? I was a regular consumer of soy milk, tofu, edamame and flax seed after menopause.
Avatar n tn Does anyone happen to know if there has been a connection with too much estrogen causing more neuropathy pain?? Anyone experience the onset of neuropathy after a hysterectomy? I would appreciate any info.
Avatar m tn Endometriosis feed off estrogen. The estrogen-dependent endo lesions, if left unchecked, will begin to create their own estrogen. I do want to clarify that the pill or any other form of HRT does not prevent the Endometriosis from growing. The reason it is used is to help stop the pain by stopping the periods. I was on a low dose BCP (Marvelon) for 8 yrs continuously and did help with my pain. However it still continued to grow even after deep excision surgery.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar m tn - If you have an autoimune thyroid disease like Hashimoto or Graves disease, avoid soy when possible. Non-fermented (in USA) is the worst for you. In Autoimmune thyroid , the thyroid is inflamed from the antibodies and you are at risk for more body inflammation in other areas. The thyroid level of inflammation gets re-disturbed with other hormone imbalances as it can no longer self adjust. The hormone output and free T levels are now regulated by the hormone replacement meds.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
