Avatar f tn I missed my period too by 20 days but the result was negative. On diagnosis, I was identified with 2 gallstones of 9mm and 2 cm in my gallbladder I heard from my friends that gallstones have a high risk of getting jaundice during pregnancy.. I'm worried a bit.. any view on my problem.?
Avatar f tn In turn the technician who completely violated his duties went on to tell me the results and that in fact I did NOT have gallstones but a swollen liver and that I should go to the doctor immediately. Mind you this was on a Saturday. I was frantic, afraid and uneasy. When I got to my doctor on Monday he told me it was just fatty liver. The actual Recommendations from the ultrasound said, "Fatty liver with prominent portal triad markings...
Avatar n tn Thank you. I was just recently diagnosed within the last few weeks. I see a specialist in January so hopefully he is a good doctor. My family doctor doesn't seem at all concerned. I had to go my gynecologist myself & ask for my levels to be checked. I was told by my family doc that it could be caused by high estrogen levels due to the oral contraceptive pill. And because I haven't been on anything in years I wanted to be checked.
Avatar f tn I've had pain on my upper-right side for three weeks now and just had an abdominal ultrasound confirming I have gallstones. I'm meeting with a specialist next week but am pretty sure that removal is the only solution; I'm in constant pain. (My only risk factor is pregnancy - I eat well, have great cholesterol levels and am on the thin side...can't believe that being pregnant and producing so much extra estrogen can cause such pain!!
937427 tn?1247023856 ME AND MY HUSBAND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE HAPPENING.... 1200200 tn?1265381692 I am a 31 yr old mother of four beautiful children and I was getting some really bad pain in my upper right part of me belly and I went for an ultrasound and was told I have gallstones and an enlarged liver and have been itchy every where and now my neck is hurting really bad in the back and front it feels like my someone is trying to strangle me. Can you please help.
Avatar f tn like through my clothes, sheets, onto work chairs. Bloating, constipation \ diahrea back and forth, estrogen levels high, prolactin high....i thought pre-menopause would lower estrogen...not raise it! (If that is why elevated) they did endometrial biopsy...normal. Then another ER visit July 9. This time US showed Gallstones. This felt so much like pain in August. Could all of this that I have been dealing with for years be gallstone disease!? My mother just passed away in December.
Avatar n tn ve had gallstones and have now had my gallbladder removed. I had horrendous stabbing pain just under my breasts in the middle of my chest, it would then go away but rise up through my back. The pain lasted 15mins and I could time my watch by it. I would feel really cold and shaky after the attacks. I had about 4 attacks every few months. The last time I had it the pain lasted two hours (due to eating a lot of fatty food that weekend) and then I was rushed to hospital.
Avatar m tn t cure them -- watching what you eat and keeping a healthy weight might help you prevent gallstones from forming and avoid some. Some the risk factors are past family history and gender (women are twice as likely to form gallstones than men). Hope this helps, jd1963!
Avatar f tn recently I had an mri for my back but it showed a mass which in turn turned out to be an enlarged gallbladder. I had an ultrasound and no gallstones were detected . The also detected that my liver is slightly swollen. I have always had digestive issues which have gotten worst in the last year. I've lost 35 pounds in the last year without trying which led me to get a blood test about 4 months ago. all enzymes and functions came back fine.
Avatar n tn The two should not be related. But if you have gallstones you need to address that issue. I have hemorrhoid and had gallstone but one not related to the other. My doctor told me that it was necessary. I never had any symptoms until 3 weeks ago. While shopping with my young daughther, I was hit with a hard pain in the upper center chest area just under the center of my bra. It definitly scared me. Im 32 with a little extra weight. My first thought was I may be having a heart attack.
Avatar f tn My main symptoms have been itching all over, particularly neck and inner arms, and other soft tissue areas including my ayes, which are itchy and red at all times. Allergies, sunburn, heat bite, dermatitis, etc. have been eliminated. Could it be that these symptoms are caused by the diverticulitis, or by the gallstones? Also, is there a way to heal the gallbladder without surgery? Someone in my family had gallbladder surgery and now suffers of constant diarrhea.
Avatar m tn This started about a little over a month ago. I began to lose my appetite and I couldn't eat as much. I had pretty bad heartburn that would burn up to my ear. I've thrown up on two occasions in the morning a very bitter green liquid. The last 2 weeks, the heartburn has mostly gone away and I do have an appetite, but now I have really bad nausea right when I wake up and it lasts the entire day (just not as bad as when I first wake up).
Avatar m tn Honestly that sounds like the same sort of pains I get from my gallbladder attacks. I have gallstones and if I eat any thing high in cholesterol -pork, eggs, dairy; or high in fat, anything fried, red meats, oils; or anything alcoholic my gallbladder freaks out and sends pains that are unbearable. You really need to check with a dr about this because if you do have gallstones then sometimes they can get stuck and cause really bad problems like jaundice and infection.

Hindsight is 20/20 and keeping a log might help you look at things more objectively over the longer term. Also, when you do go into Emergency, you can say, this has been the pattern.
1430743 tn?1302740667 I am now 21 weeks pregnant and have suffered 2 major gallbladder attacks of which i was dx with gallstones. I have had minor ones that i could manage at home but the 2 were so severe that i had to go to the ER. They gave me morphine and zofran while i was in the hospital. They discharged me with percocet. I didn't feel comfortable taking that so i just would suffer through until tuesday night i had another attack i just had to try it rather then go to ER.
Avatar m tn I was then advised to take an antibiotic, and a fat-free diet while waiting to repeat the ultrasound that I repeated a few days later and from which it emerged: "Gallbladder in place, inside large colaculus with clear cone of rear shadow with a diameter of 2.1x0.8x0.7 with walls of regular thickness and free infundibulum ". The doctor then advised me to take Deursil (225mg slow release twice a day), a fat free diet and to wait for it.

Avatar f tn Also if a gallstone gets stuck, you might get jaundice and liver damage. So having gallstones and the gallbladder kept in you could cause liver problems that go unnoticed until surgery. So to answer your main question of can you avoid surgery- probably not. You can try, by all means. Put it off until you feel ready, I did and now dear god I wish I jumped on it earlier. But would feel a lot more comfortable going into surgery now then I would of a year ago.
Avatar m tn It started with discomfort in the top of my stomach, pain behind the sternum, and directly oppsing area in my back, copious belching and phlegm in my throat and discomfort at odd times in various areas around my upper abdomen. Within a couple of days I also had a burning mouth (particularly my tongue where cracks or patches appear red initially but calm very quickly) and my upper GI tract is very senstive to dust, hot and very cold food etc.
Avatar f tn I had gallstones with my first baby xxxx its quite common and although painful you really have no need to be worried xxxx once I had my baby girl and she was 8 weeks old they took them out xxxx I am sure you will be ok honey xxxx ohhhhhh and if its all confirmed just stay away from full fat foods ie cheese cream full fat milk etc xxxx
Avatar n tn if you have a stone in your gallbladder and is hurting and making you sick all the time is the best thing to get it taken out ? This discussion is related to Can Sludge in the Gallbladder cause pain.
Avatar f tn Not the hottest topic in hep c research, but the association between hcv and gallstones has been around a while. Certainly not everyone with hep c gets gallstones, and though cause and effect has not yet been proven, most hepas nowadays do think there is a link: "Hepatitis C virus infection is a risk factor for gallstone disease: a prospective hospital-based study of patients with chronic viral C hepatitis." Author: Acalovschi, M.;Buzas, C.;Radu, C.;Grigorescu, M., et al.
