Common Questions and Answers about Estrogen and gallbladder

Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome. I would definitely consult with your ob/gyn about the gall stones. During pregnancy, these do tend to get worse and as your body is already dealing with a lot during pregnancy, you don't want that on top of it. The gall stones get worse due to extra estrogen. Gall stones left untreated can cause your gallbladder to become infected and can even rupture. So, I'd talk to your doctor about this BEFORE trying again.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
Avatar n tn At that time I ended up being referred to a gastroenterologist and also had an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder. Everything checked out fine and my levels were at the high end of normal. My endo then switched me to Levoxyl, upped the dosage and I became hyperthyroid with heart palps, breathing problems, etc. Then my dosage was reduced and changed back to synthroid and I became hypo with a TSH of 28. Finally, I made my endo switch my meds to Armour Thyroid.
Avatar f tn After several weeks of tests, they found a calcification that formed IN THE PANCREAS-not the gallbladder. It was removed during ERCP and that was it. Never had any further problems. The dr could not find a reason for this at all. I do not drink AT ALL. On Tuesday of this week, I started developing the same pain etc.. went to my PCP who thought it was my gallbladder. I had a CT scan and it was fine. He referred me back to the GI doc who helped me with the pancreas stuff. I had that appt today.
Avatar f tn I had the very samething I had a hysterectomy in 2000. I had every test out there and had my gallbladder out and still had the very quesey stomach and waking up at night with the anxiety. I had it for 11 months and it went away, I have felt good for over 1 year now. The doctors have no idea what it was I am just glad it is gone it was the worst feeling I have ever had.
Avatar f tn Some doctors have now made the statement that a Hyperkinetic gallbladder can be as symptomatic and troubling to a patient as a gallbladder that has a low ejection rate and/Or partially blocked and/or stones. A Hyperkinetic gallbladder shows that it is actually not functioning properly and it causes great internal distress and problems, one of which being internal inflammation of all affected internal organs and systems working with the biliary system. Any thoughts on this or added knowledge?
1710955 tn?1309446473 Now 9 years post-op, I still have some urgency and very loose bowels. An ultrasound done years ago showed a normal gallbladder and ducts. A Celiac test was normal. I have not done any more workups...frustrated with the whole medical system since my unwarranted hysterectomy and ovary removal. Plus I am not in pain so I just live with the bowel issues.
Avatar n tn Thank you. I was just recently diagnosed within the last few weeks. I see a specialist in January so hopefully he is a good doctor. My family doctor doesn't seem at all concerned. I had to go my gynecologist myself & ask for my levels to be checked. I was told by my family doc that it could be caused by high estrogen levels due to the oral contraceptive pill. And because I haven't been on anything in years I wanted to be checked.
Avatar f tn 52 year old female with Hashimoto’s and possible estrogen dominance. Last summer I developed s dry cough and shortness of breath. In November Doc put me on 40 mg Prilosec one daily and it causes me to feel terrible, anxious etc. we changed to 20mg 2x daily and Zantac 150 1x daily and the cough resolves within a week but I had globus, phlegm, sore throat...typical LPR symptoms.
Avatar f tn I just remembered how my hair fell out a lot after my first child was born, before I was hypoT. Maybe ANY hormonal imbalance contributes to hair loss? We all know how a limping thyroid throws the entire hormonal (aka endocrine) system out of balance. Perhaps once our thyroid is balanced, we still have to contend with getting all our other hormones balanced. Maybe having our thyroid back up and running isn't enough to repair and balance the rest of our system that got out-of-whack.
Avatar n tn I have found link between gallstones and estrogen and I have increased the amount of estrogen I have been taking this past year since I switched birth control pills. I have seen a surgeon, hoping he'd be able to think outside the box and find what else it may be, and he said he would take out my gallbladder, if I want, despite what the test results show, or don't show.
Avatar m tn I just got the results back from my HIDA/CCK: Gallbladder function is at 19%. Doc says he recommends taking it out, I'm going to try a few alternatives (including weight loss and acupuncture, which he says might help some) before I agree to discard an organ. My question is this: What are the possible causes of a weak or lazy gallbladder?
18070169 tn?1463175914 No UTI, no infections in any of the organs and no stones or anything in the kidney or gallbladder. At this time I was also taking zolpidem every night. I read some stuff on zolpidem side effects and it appeared that after my surgery some of the rare side effects started cropping up. I attributed my anxiety to that. So I quit the zolpidem ct (which I probably shouldn't have) and did have a miserable few weeks, but a lot of the pains I was feeling went away.
Avatar f tn Hi had total hysterectomy removal of both ovaries at age 39. I am now 59 I've been on hormone replacement therapy every since. I was on patches, estrace pills. cenestin .625 until I went to a dr that did bioidentical hormones. She put me on the patch and I was just losing my hair but surviving then my dr left and I was sent to the only other doctor there and she put me on the Wily Protocol. Well I seemed to do good for 5 years and boom everything went wrong.
405855 tn?1217100767 What is the correlation of estrogen and follicles? What should the estrogen number be before ovulation. Can this number be affected if you are taking Femara. On CD11, I had 5 follis - 20, 15, 18, 17, 16, 12 but my estrogen was only 23, is it possible? My lining was so think 4 mm only.
Avatar m tn I went through a serious bout of stress from my job a couple of years ago and ended up leaving. My hair thinned, I started getting fat round my waste and on my chest giving me the dreaded man boobs look. The stress and lack of sleep got so bad at times that I often forgot what day it was and could not sleep or stop my hands from shaking. Now the problem remains and I can't get rid of it. My DHEA is fine and so is my testosterone.
Avatar m tn three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. My husband thinks the pnemunia/fever rearranged my hormones and it will take awhile for them to settle down. I am 57 and was pretty stable on the bi-est. has this ever happened to anyone else?? Thx!
Avatar f tn The effects on my brain were extreme - severe depression and inability to think, concentrate and remember. I had little energy and often felt shaky. I aged rapidly - lost so much hair and skin collagen. Although I didn't have heart palps or dizziness / vertigo, I know a number of women who did. Has any doctor prescribed estrogen? Finding the right form and dose of estrogen was a huge help for me including lifting me out of the black hole of depression.
429647 tn?1249753429 my ttumor was tested and it was estrogen positive i am on an estrogen blocker.. how about asking your doc if the tumor was estrogen positive or not.
Avatar f tn I am new to this forum, and new to the world of menopause. I recently had my last ovary removed due to cysts and endometreosis. I did not want to go through menopause or life with no estrogen at age 35, so I opted for the estrogen hormone therapy. I chose to go with the Estradiol patches. I think that it regulates the estrogen more efficiently and you can't forget to take a pill! Let me give you my two cents on your issues...know that I am not a dr., but am going through this myself.
