Avatar n tn If so then i would say that your tiredness through the day would be partly due to the lack of sleep your getting at night and anxiety. I have anxiety/panic disorder and that alone makes me very tired most days. As far as the motion feeling, I have that also and was told by my Dr that was one of the many many feelings anxiety can cause. To me it always feels like i'm sea sick. Are you on medications for your anxiety ?
Avatar n tn Hi, One lady I know stated that sometimes she was estrogen predominant and adding more estrogen causes her to have anxiety and panic attack Your level of estrogen probably fluctuates to the high side so being on more estrogen can cause anxiety or panic attack. You are at perimenopausal stage and your hormone still fluctuates a lot. One blood test does not really indicate you estrogen stays that way. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with anxiety over 5 years ago. I am 62 years old and post menopausal (for 6 rs) I was advised to see a psychiatrists, who has prescribed countless medications, including ativan, klonopin, clonodine, seroquel for sleep, and several anti depressants. I have also been seeing a psychologist for 3 years and countless other doctors such as MD's and OB's.
Avatar f tn Probably not - it only got worse for my sister and mother. Are you under a doctor's care? If not, this might be the time to see professional advice and treatment.
Avatar f tn I thought I would lose my mind til I got my hormones checked and was very estrogen dominate, very low progesterone. I am finally sleeping again, anxiety is much better since taking bioidentical progesterone. It took some time to get my levels up so be patient. I had to go off the progesterone earlier this year for several months due to some abnormal other hormones levels and all my anxiety, sleep issues came back.....
Avatar f tn Does anybody know if their anxiety started during menopause and what you did about it?
Avatar f tn I had a similar peri-menopausal experience as you, but not quite as drastic on the anxiety end. Lexapro made a new woman out of me and I have no problem taking it forever if I have to. Apparently I was lucky that I responded to it immediately without the weeks-long wait most people experience with anti-depressants. I know I needed ADs since puberty and I kick myself for waiting until I was 40 to talk to my doctor.
Avatar n tn I agree with quietgal about hormone levels too and yet you also need to work on the anxiety and panic. Meditating, relaxation exercises, and seeing an expert on anx. and panic will get you on the road to progress! Do not live with this problem as you are wasting precious time in your life and we only get one shot at it!!!! Positive thinking and taking time for yourself is #1.
594912 tn?1219377031 My blood test came back and all is normal, thyroid, estrogen and progeterone. I'm 49 and started last year Oct with rapid pulse, heavy bleeding and weakness that lasted over a week and a half. It occurs every 3-5 cycles and it is really messing up my life. Everybody says hystorectomy, but I'm convinced it is hormones and having surgery will not stop my symptoms. Does anybody have had simular experiences?
Avatar n tn The progesterone does help with sleep improvement and calmness, relief of anxiety and immune function improves, allergies tolerance improves and cortisol/adrenals improve, but bio estrogen (a combo of all 3 estrogen's created by a compounding pharmacy) helps with joy, and energy, voice, and the itching and lubrication, (for me anyway) the bio testosterone cream helps with energy, gumption, and some drive. I read that estrogen dominance can interfere with thyroid function, per Dr. Lee.
973741 tn?1342342773 I was and still am going through mood swings. Tired all the time and low sex drive.
Avatar f tn ve been reading about as I asked for progesterone and estrogen testing - thyroid was not something I considered. Thanks for any help or insight.
Avatar n tn I am 49 years old and just going through menopause. My new doctor recommended me to have a salivary test to test hormone levels/cortisol/dhea. The results show what she called estrogen deficiency and high cortisol levels. progestrone level is okay. She said that I could try "natural" estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use.
Avatar n tn I have read that too much estrogen causes fibroids, and that hormones can contribute to anxiety. (PMS) I also started to have panic attacks a few months after starting the BC pill and have wondered if that was the cause.
440728 tn?1234645302 I tried a couple of things like ativan which helped me sleep as the anxiety was causing insomnia and some herbal treatments to calm me down, they worked sometimes and not others. I have a new doctor now and he suggested I tried St John's Wort and I have been on that for about 10 days, the last couple have been a lot better, some of the symptoms like my heart racing and the horrid feeling in my stomach have subsided and I am feeling a lot more able to cope.
18070169 tn?1463175914 Of course new pains showed up like a back ache, which I still have. But the anxiety is out of control and I figured I have been off of zolpidem long enough (38 days) that I started wondering if it had something to do with my hysterectomy. After reading peoples questions - I am wondering if that is now what I am dealing with. I am sleeping really well, but will occasionally wake up drenched in sweat. It is the day time hours that I am constantly anxious. Everything just gives me anxiety.
Avatar n tn 1 When absorbed, DIM promotes estrogen metabolism to produce healthy and cancer-protective 2-hydroxy estrogens,2 and minimizes the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes,3 thereby reducing cellular inflammation. Activating these pathways encourages remarkable weight loss and hormonal balance and provides many other benefits towards healthy aging.
Avatar f tn I take it for panic attacks. I heard low estrogen levels can cause migraines, anxiety and night sweats. Do they do check this in a regular blood test? I'm not sure I have ever had this checked out. I had everything else checked...I am just so fed up with this I don't nkow what to do anymore. What medications has anyone been on to help them with this?
Avatar f tn I am just concerned that messing with my hormones will make my anxiety worse. I just wanted to know have any of you with anxiety and panic attacks had a hysterectomy and if so how did it go?
Avatar n tn I am extremely depressed and am suffering with hypothyroidism, low testosterone, too much estrogen, high cholesterol and low Vitamin D what is wrong with me? I originally thought that everything here is linked to depression from stress and anxiety so I started taking Lexapro for the depression. But my wife thinks that maybe all of these things are linked to a health issue. About 11 months ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and low thyroid, so I am taking red rice yeast and .
Avatar f tn 75 within 2 months) 6 weeks after stopping BCP because my TSH was at 3.98 - thought to be slightly hypo and the cause og my symptoms - and it stopped the crazy menstruation, but not the extremely heavy bleeding OR the pelvic pain. And it made me have hot flashes AND my hair to come out by the handful. After 6 months of suffering on Synthroid, I got off of it.
Avatar n tn My Gyno said that I have probably an estrogen dominancy and I should increase progesterone on 200 mg. I always thought that low estrogen is causing these symptoms. What do you think? My GP told me that my estrogen levels are still low for my age and she would increase the Estrogel, but she isn't an hormone expert, so she don't want to intrude.. Thank you!
Avatar f tn had myself convinced I had ms but it was all in my head. Clean mri and no other symptoms other than tingling feet. Have been fighting this anxiety ever since. Never had it before this .
Avatar f tn Symptoms of esterogen excess are weight gain, irregular menstrual periods, which can be excess bleeding or light bleeding, and an increase in the strength of pre-menstrual symptoms and anxiety. Confirmation can only be done after getting the estrogen levels checked. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
