Avatar f tn Now when I get them, I take note of it since it tells me that I may need to either increase my dose of estradiol or that I need to change my estradiol patch sooner... (I use the Vivelle patch.. a bioidentical estradiol transdermal patch). Years ago I had all of this checked out by a Cardiac doctor who told me I had benign tacycardia, but we did not discuss how ovarian levels of estradiol affects our heart and how palpatations can occur when things are not at optimal levels.
Avatar f tn Hi all! I was recently put on the 12mcg per he patch by my pain managment doc. After a wek of withdrawal he upped me to 25mcg per hour. I have been on it for 6 days ( 2 patch cycles) and am still in full withdrawal. I have an adhesive allergy and altho I'm not breaking out I. Hives or having a visible reaction is it possible that my body is just not absorbing the medication? Has anyone else had a similar issue?
4128244 tn?1350073611 I've read somewhere that estradiol (I'm on the patch) can increase your T4. Has anyone else heard this? Also, that time of day and fasting can affect TSH. I'm going for TSH, FT4, and FT3 tomorrow. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have been on the estradiol patch for 5 weeks! I was on the .725 dose. I have gained about 8 pounds and I am freaking out! I have been extremely co scoops of my diet and etc. my doctor suggested we lower the dose to the .375 to see if it will help! How long will it be before I see the weight come off?
Avatar f tn I have never heard of MI being a contraindication to taking estrogen (in transdermal form anyway - such as a patch or gel). Transdermals do not have the clotting risk that oral forms do.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
216278 tn?1308861082 , it has been determined that I have sub-clinical hypothyroidism and my estrogen levels are low. This is the first month that I have worn an Estradiol patch and am just getting concerned! I know that the best advice and words of wisdom come from those who have experienced it, so I thought that I would start here... Is it possible that this patch can raise my Estrogen to a level that would hinder my chances at pregnancy this month? (I wear it for 10 days after I ovulate!) Thanks!
Avatar f tn since then i have had severe derpession and anxiety vaginal dryness,no intrest in sex recently(i think that could be cause by the antidepressant im on) my dr put me on the estradiol patch low dose..will it help me any?I have no energy and im sick of the depression and anxiety i have no reason to, be this way i have a perfectly good life...has anyone gone off estrogen for years adn then back on it with sucess..i just turned 50,was 36 when i had total hystrectomy..
Avatar f tn No side effects but I am not sure that it is doing anything for me. It is an MAOI transdermal patch. It requires a restrictive diet or you can go into a hypertensive crisis.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar n tn Hi Vicki, I just have a second (off to work and no computer at work) but I wanted to say that I did a quick search and found that the patch you are on is in fact a bioidentical estradiol, which, in my opinion, is the only way to go...
Avatar m tn com) As for my experience with transdermal fentanyl, when I used that patch, I found them effective to 2 days only, after only 3-6 months of use. For me, the problem with transdermal fentanyl was a rapid development of opioid tolerance. Within 18 months of use, my dose had gone from 25 to 100 ug, and I needed another adjustment upward. Instead of doing that, my doc and I chose to use another long-acting opioid medication. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn I have been wearing the patch for ~2 hours at this point and have some decent relief. I am suppose to leave the patch on for 72 hours as most patients. If I at any point feel nausea (or any reason) and want to remove is that ok? I only get ten a month and for some reason as of now my insurance company wont cover the fentanyl. They are very expensive ~120-140$. If I decided to take it off can I remove and store in plastic bag until a later time. It could be a few hours or the next day.
216278 tn?1308861082 Hi! I am 2dpo and I started an Estradiol patch today to wear for the next week and a half. Of course, I am starting to second guess everything (typical start of my tww) Does anyone know if this could raise my estrogen TOO much, thus hurting my chances for pregnancy? I have posted a picture of the graph of my hormone levels when they did the full panel and I put the numbers in a journal to correspond with it!
Avatar f tn I just recently started using the Nicotine Transdermal Patch to help me quit smoking. I made the mistake of not reading the entire information slip before starting it. Right now I am on the 21 mg patch, and I have been smoking a little here and there after taking off the patch. I have a severe headache, I am nausious, my lungs feel like their closes up, which is making my asthma worse, and now I have a pain in my right arm. Is this a sign of a nicotine overdose? If so, what should I do?
Avatar n tn Sometimes a transdermal testosterone patch will help by increasing the number of red oxygen carrying blood cells, but this has it's drawbacks.
1937645 tn?1324236061 t mention the transdermal patch...she could indeed be allergic to it, many humans can become very irritated by a medicated patch..... I have a full day out with appts etc today but I will try and find some reading about that for you later. In the meantime it wouldn't hurt to ask your Vet as well. post me back and tell me the name of the patch...and I'll get back to you later today or tonight...
Avatar n tn I have been on the Mylan Brand patch now for 7 years, just recently changed to the Johnson&johnson brand due to having no insurance, because the Mylan were $270 per month and the J&J are at no cost to me. I'm having a hard time finding this brand in any drug store in my area. I live in Southern Maine, South Berwick, Maine to be exact. Do you know what pharmacies in my area have this brand of Fentalyn Tr. P 75 mcg? Thank you, M.
Avatar f tn The patch had been replaced approximately 24 hours prior. She has been on the Fentanyl Patch (100 mcg) for about 3 years and uses a tegaderm patch over it to hold it in place. It was on her stomach. She always places the patches on her stomach or upper arm in a fatty area. This is the 4th ER visit in the past 12 months due to withdrawals. Why is her body not absorbing the medication?
1651832 tn?1301690605 Hi....I am new here. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy on May 13th, 2011 (including my ovaries). I've been dealing with severe bleeding issues for over a year now and have tried a few different things before deciding to go with a hysterectomy. My maternal grandmother had ovarian uterine cancer and died when she was 39. My mom had a complete hysterectomy in her early 30's (she passed away 7 years ago from bone cancer). There is also heart disease on both sides of my family.
Avatar f tn Two months ago he put me on the patch. A new patch every week. It worked the first month and I got no period at all (which is what he told me would happen) now I'm starting to bleed again. I'm so frustrated and I'm worried that it's gonna be another month long period. I don't know if I should just ask to get it out now? Or what birth control to use next? I have tried the iud and I can't do that again. Don't remember to take the pill..
Avatar f tn i have tried estradiol pill and patch with promtrium which i believe makes depression worse.Menest .
Avatar f tn t totally dicount the use of Estradiol (in the form of a patch...either Vivelle or Climara) in the future. You can look at my journal comments on my profile page where I speak a bit about Bioidentical hormones ... There are comments from others there too.. and, their experiences. To Tobesmartt... there is some GREAT information from Dr. Erika Schwartz (hormone specialist) on why our Grandmothers, etc., did not suffer quite as much as we seem to be now...
