They told us if the Clomid doesn't work they'll consider surgery for his varicocele so maybe they'll do the surgery which is what I wanted in the first place. I'm glad to hear that the side effects will go away. I felt kinda bad for him.
The reality is that there is no hard evidence -- although there is some -- supporting the efficacy of natural supplements to prevent estrogen dominance in men. There are prescription medications that are more effective, but have risk of fairly serious side-effects -- like all prescription medications. The truth is, the medical community, including most "alternative" communities such as LEF, don't really want you to be too healthy.
Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
I hope follistem and Menopur dont have more side effects, ugh that would really suck. Monday I go in for blood work, and then I have to wait till the doctor calls me to schedule sonograms/ultra sound appointments, I heard theres a lot of those involved?
This is how it felt the other times that is why I am soo worried that it hasn't worked again. I also had twingy feelings on my right side but this has moved over to my left side now (just today) Who knows, as my dad always tells me, what will be will be. Take care.

I go in tomarrow for US/BW. Hopefully they see something happening. I don't feel any side effects, in fact I am in a better mood now that I have started all these drugs then I was before. I am usually very moody. I actually feel very stable right now its weird. I'm scared though that I have no follies growing, I guess I will find out tomarrow.
About six years ago, I noticed nasty little puckers and crepiness in the crook of my elbow. About six months ago, the skin under my underarm (on the inner side of my arm) started to look saggy. I have an antiaging blog and have used this to document everything logical to be done about this since many of my readers are experiencing the same.

He wants me to think about stopping it and he made me sign a waiver stating that he'd warned me of the side effects of it. My original plan had always been to wait until I was 50. I'm like you, I thought that it was a better idea than to go through menopause so early. My mom has osteoporosis, so I thought that being on the estrogen that I could delay any potential bone-thinning problems as well.
I've read that it decreases your CM, not to mention the other side effects it will cause. So when is your next tww? Maybe we can spur each other on again then! I can imagine my doctor looking at my blood results and exclaiming in horror how out of wreck my hormones are! @ JenJen25: Oh why do you feel that? Is it because of the lack of strong pregnancy symptoms? There's still one more week, so hang in there!
Estradiol? Men have levels too. How are your bones? There can be side effects to supplementation but in general, you are taking a dose as a replacement, not over and beyond - so the effects we piit people have are different. The doctor has to bring you up to a level that is physiologic so your other levels normalize and it brings your body near to normal. It can and does effect fertility.
It was hard to actually believe that I could be one of those 1% of people having those side effects, but I guess it happens. The next thing I read, that was even harder to believe, was the fact that this could easily stay with me for the rest of my life.. Why the H*** didn't the FDA get this drug off the market way back in the 70s? (When it came in the shape of Proscar, but technically was the same drug). I mean, it's been out there for a while... A lot of people should be affected by this.
, do not think testosterone is the sole factor for all problems in men. Now, looking at your hormone levels, LH, FSH and estradiol are little elevated though I feel, if these are as per your body's make up, except for high estradiol, others may be alright, do you have these readings when you were feeling healthy?, as that would have helped to estimate your base line levels.
Usually one or two Arimidex per week are enough to bring your estradiol (estrogen) level into a normal range without any bad side effects. The thing is not to give up on living a normal life as nature intended. With proper care and dedication, you can be even better than before. Good luck!

Earlier article found statistical correlation between leaky veins and higher estradiol level, i.e. higher compare to men with ED but not leaky veins: “Increased estradiol levels in venous occlusive disorder: a possible functional mechanism of venous leakage”, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF IMPOTENCE RESEARCH, Volume: 17, Issue: 3, Pages: 239-242, Published: MAY-JUN 2005 As I gather, it's mostly hormonal. testosterone-and estradiol-related.
Try this little bit of info, While synthetic progesterone derivatives have been used to lower libido in men (1, 5), I believe that natural progesterone may in fact have the opposite effects in some men. I have heard patient anecdotes and from other medical doctors saying that application of a natural progesterone cream to the scrotum can increase libido and enhance orgasmic pleasure in some men..
What I find unbelievable is the notion that women should just destroy all estrogen in the body! How would men react if they were told to destroy all their testerone in their body to help them fight their cancer! I truly feel there is some middle ground here that is missing and we women are basically scared into believing that if we don't get rid of all our estrogen we will die of breast cancer, and so we feel we have no choice as we want to live!
Another Japanese study examined how the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA (found in high concentrations in fish) affected SHBG levels in men 43 to 88 years of age.24 After controlling for other variables, the researchers concluded that both EPA and DHA decreased levels of SHBG in middle-aged and elderly men. 4. Indole-3-carbinol protects against high estrogen levels, prostate cancer.
I told the doctor that I refuse to take the hormone therapy and anti-depressants...too many bad side effects...and my body seems to be super sensitive to ALL medications. They tried me on the lowest dose available ( anti-depressants ) 6 years ago, and it made things so much worse. Cutting the pills in half was still too much for me, hence the reason I am now very hesitant when it comes to taking anything the doctor offers me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Excerpt from Tired Thyroid - Reverse T3: Side Effects of T3-only (or why you need T4 too)... "High reverse T3 (rT3) levels or a “bad” reverse T3 ratio (Free T3 divided by rT3 is less than 20) are said to be the cause of stubborn hypothyroid symptoms even while one is taking an ample amount of medication. If the ratio is less than 20, then the treatment touted by some is to take 75-125 mcg of T3 only split throughout the day, and no T4 whatsoever.
I think his relative lack of response to androgel indicates that a large ammount of his testosterone is being converted to estrogen/estradiol and this in turn is causing an increase in globulin bound thyroid. Maybe do additional tests to check it. Blocking aromatase would be a step to take if this is the case. Bear in mind I have no idea what i'm talking about but want to sound smart. Good luck.
However, he has given me the impression that some of these side effects are unique to myself and myself alone. Granted, I'll have cramps from time to time and sometimes sweats may occur. Sometimes my face is flushed red. My doctor tells me he gets cramps so bad they can bring tears to his eyes. Are there any other gentlemen that experience unusual side effects of their TRT?
Others -- DoubleDose for example -- have posted extensively about post-tx side effects, including sexual side effects, and they are not young men in their early twenties like Abbas. I see these types of side effects especially troublesome to someone so young and Abbas has every right here to express his opinions. Many of us have called SOC something akin to 'toxic garbage' without using those precise words, so let the young man be and let him express. Ina, How are you doing? How is the skin?
DHEA studies have reported significant androgen increases in women, at a 50 mg and higher dosage [18,19,20,21] and a decreased testosterone level in men, combined with an increase in estradiol [21], which can result in acne, oily skin, facial hair growth in women, and irritability, insomnia, fatigue, and breast enlargement in men Also, DHEA is NOT recommended for people under 30 years of age, unless indicated by blood testing; or for pregnant or nursing women; or people at risk for breast, ut
My thyroid survived TX but I have absolutely no idea if the damage to the parathyroid is related to TX or not and I will never know. I am a little tired of being a side effects experiment for my treatment team. Advice for TXers: Ask for calcium & vit. D levels along with thyroid levels and ask that parathyroid hormone levels be done at least once during TX. Get a bone scan before and after TX if you can afford it.
My DH has a normal to low testosterone levels and also has a low sperm count. He was given Clomid. He started getting side effects from the Clomid so we dont know if he'll be staying on it. He just had a SA yesterday so I'll know in a week if anything improved.
Beyond this possible negative side-effect others do exist but they prove to be very individualistic, dose dependent and in many cases very rare. Possible side-effects include most commonly, headaches, insomnia and excess sweating. Many women who use Cytomel may also find their menstrual cycles disrupted, however, this is often to be expected when body-fat becomes extremely low.
A study of 12 men aged 18 years and older experienced a 19% drop in serum testosterone in only 28 days when supplemented with 56 grams of soy protein powder over that same time period (Prev 2007;16:829—33). Do NOT feed soy formula to your babies!
