374593 tn?1257879950 this time they said it was a little low, but thats to be expected with the femara (since it blocks estrogen production) Anyone know what that can do if its low? THANKS SO MUCH!
216278 tn?1308861082 I am almost 37 years old and doing a hormonal profile this month (b/w every other day, basically!!) I had Estradiol draws pre-o, and now Estradiol and Progesterone draws post-o! On Peak +3, my Estradiol was 70 (went from 104 to 323 to 70) and my progesterone was 5.8. It is only 3DPO, but I am trying to get an idea of whether it's a 'good' number or not - Any help will be appreciated!!!!
Avatar m tn Remember to get SHBG tested and also estradiol. Clomid can also raise estradiol (estrogen). Both SHBG and estradiol bind to or use up testosterone leaving less of the "total T" available as free T to do work. You can take a drug to lower estradiol. But it is very sensitive and you should not take it unless you need it. And the only way you know if you need it, is to have estradiol tested! If you try Clomid, people should start out with a very low dose and SLOWLY work up.
Avatar m tn the dopamine-production-inducing 5-ht2a receptors in the ventral tegmental area; and the dopamine-release-inhibiting 5-ht2c receptors in the nucleus accumbens, which store-up dopamine. Hey Zennedout- If you don't want to tell anyone that you used illegal MDMA, then you can tell them that you used an SRI, such as escitalopram (which is the most effective drug for causing PSSD), because they cause the same permanent effects.
Avatar n tn With such high value of free testo, if you further supplement more testo, your testes production may further come down so that added testo may not have an effect and may not be required either. This is only my opinion and need not be correct, you should get the correct opinion from an expert Endo.
594914 tn?1245263684 estrone, estradiol (the most abundant) and estriol. Overall, estrogen is produced in the ovaries, adrenal glands and fat tissues. More specifically, the estradiol and estrone forms are produced in the ovaries, while estriol is produced by the placenta during pregnancy. In women, estrogen circulates in the bloodstream and binds to estrogen receptors on cells in targeted tissues, affecting not only the breast and uterus, but also the brain, bone, liver, heart and other tissues.
Avatar n tn s been shown to be quite a bit more effective than Tamoxifen at curtailing the production of estrogen. My estradiol (estrogen) blood level is at a negative 20 at the moment, and I take Aromasin only every other day. Please ask your doc about it; swelling of the feet doesn't seem to be a common symptom of it. It's got other side effects that are icky, like sore hands and hot flashes, but so what. I'm alive! Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn They then had me do 25 IU fiollistim with an LH Luveris which worked and my estradiol levels were consistent with my follicle production.
1820675 tn?1317183244 Even if you did keep an ovary or if you kept both of them, you might still be considering hormonal replacement since the blood flow to the utererus is cut off from the ovaries and so they often will atrophy, according to some of the research I have done, and so your hormone production from the ovaries is less than optimal. But, if you did have your ovaries removed, I am from the school of thought that your doctor should have placed a patch of estradiol on you before you left the hospital.

Avatar m tn My endocrinologist is recommending I take testosterone injections but since the body shutdown its native production of testosterone an affects fertility (I would like to start a family in the near future) I want to see if something else would help like naturopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy,… any one have any success with a similar problem? Also what are peoples experiences with testosterone supplementation and observed side effects. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
Avatar m tn Her cortisol is within normal range, tho it is creeping up; estradiol and aldosterone are normal. I realize Lysodren is probably in her future but her vet nor I feel it is necessary now as she is clinically fine - no signs. Her vet is new to Cushing's, by the way, but I have been learning about it for 2+ years (since her diagnosis in 3/08). My questions are 1) what could cause the Androstenedione to rise (in addition to the Cushing's)?
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar f tn Sorry I can't interpret it for u , but I recently was told about low levels on vit D,B12.....I am on a multi vit, plus a vit B12 and finished a rx vit D..with additional labs showed my D back where it should be. I found out that possibly the fact I worked indoors and never say the light of day may have contributed to the low levels...my dr told me to try and spend 15 mins a day without burning to help.....I do not know what else is going on with u physically.....
512442 tn?1216259500 somone on this forum told me that rises in estrogen cause the tingling sensation in bbs as well as the production of EWCM....so it's possible that you DID already O and are just now experiencing elevate estradiol side effects. Just to be safe though..i'd bd like a mad woman!!!
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day. Since the Menostar patch is applied once/weekly and contains 1 mg of estradiol, then that's around .14 mg/day (the data says .014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .
Avatar f tn Statin drugs in low thyroid function are contra-indicated (unless one has suffered already a heart attack), as low energy production would be further compromised due to the inhibition of Co-enzyme Q10, vital for cellular energy production, being on the same pathway of the cholesterol production suppression in the liver, by the action of the statin!!! The calcium channel blocker is likely messing up your adrenals as it targets mainly the L-type calcium channels which are also responsible for.
Avatar f tn 3, Estradiol sometimes is normal sometimes low, Testosterone, Androstenedione and 17 OH PROGESTERONE are high, Cortizol,SHBG, DHEA-S, T3, T4, TSHI are normal, ACTH is below normal range. I quit going to doctors for PCOS because i hate pills,i wanted to go for the natural treatments. But what am i suppose to do if i have nonclassical CAH? Please help me diagnose this!
