Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
216278 tn?1308861082 I wore Estradiol patches - actually several of them - before getting pregnant in order to thicken my lining in preparation for conception (we did IVF). I doubt that wearing the patch would hinder your chances - I would think it would do the opposite but I'm no medical expert. As I said, I wore the patches for a different reason but I would think the result would be the same. What does your doctor say?
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day. Since the Menostar patch is applied once/weekly and contains 1 mg of estradiol, then that's around .14 mg/day (the data says .014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .
Avatar m tn Estradiol is one form of estrogen and is (or at least used to be) considered HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) although some refer to it as ET (estrogen therapy). There is estrogen-only HRT and combined (estrogen plus progestin or progesterone) HRT. Women who have a uterus who take HRT must take progestin or progesterone if they take estrogen in order to protect their uterine lining from the proliferative effects of estrogen.
Avatar f tn I had a FET on October 7th and have been on estrogen patches plus taking estradiol pills. On Saturday my estrogen was 900+ so they said I could go from 3 patches a day to 2 patches a day. My estrogen level today (Monday) was 700-something. They said they will retest me on Thursday. UGH. I should be 6 weeks 5 days pregnant. Should my body be making enough of its own estrogen so that taking off one patch would not make the estrogen level drop???
Avatar n tn I am really stressing. My progesterone has gone up each time. I am taking 2 mg Estradiol 3 times per day and am now on the patches changing them every day. Any ideas? Does this mean I am not pregnant?
Avatar n tn no depression, lots of energy & vigor, libido was up, I was outgoing and excited about life. After feeling great for 1 day, the effects disappeared and I am back to the same drained and low-energy shell of a human. (I had this same experience when I was 33 when originally diagnosed with Low-T: felt great for a day and then I felt terrible again, which is why I originally stopped treatment). So my Endo increased the dosage to 10mg, and still no change in energy or mood.
Avatar f tn The last six months I started getting my P every month for 3 weeks! My doc first prescribed me an estrogen (Estradiol) pill and told me to take it when my P was longer then 10 days. Well that didn't work. Two months ago he put me on the patch. A new patch every week. It worked the first month and I got no period at all (which is what he told me would happen) now I'm starting to bleed again. I'm so frustrated and I'm worried that it's gonna be another month long period.
Avatar f tn Hey, I'm a 60 year old women who is on Armour thyroid, and I am menopasal, I had a estradiol test, I believe it was 30 but should be 90 if I'm remembering right. Should I have a Progesterin test also? I read that Estriol is a good estrogene suppliment to use, I guess its used vaginally is that right? and it says I should use Progesterone along with it, do they have a progesteron that can be used vaginally? or is the cream good?
Avatar n tn My question is HRT, I am now on HRT as I am only 34 and really dont know how I feel about it now. I have opted for the patches and have been given Evorol 50. Is the patch Ok when swimming, bathing etc, i am worried now I will forget to change it on the correct days, or it will fall off, i do quite a bit of swimming and running. Has anyone had any side effects. I really dont want to go putting weight on.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am new to this site & hope I'm doing this right. I am 44 years old and had a total LAVH (both ovaries removed on 3/22/16. At 20 years old I was given Lupron injections for experimental treatment for the mildest class of endometriosis possible (HORRIBLE advice from my doc back then). Those injections put me into INSTANT menopause and I started experiencing for the first time in my life SEVERE anxiety and depression (along with hot flashes, night sweats, etc.
Avatar f tn I want enough estradiol in me to make sure I can string a sentence together, avoid depression, have a sex drive, have better word retrival, have strong bones, less moodiness, have good heart function, no cramping in legs (the worst when I am low in my estradiol)... no foot problems (yes... when estradiol was too low for a few years...bad doc's advice... yuk,... I ended up having to have surgery on both feet).. no joint pain... I could go on and on and on.
Avatar f tn I had a natural FET today and the blood work from this morning showed my estrogen level was 106. My doctor told me to tAke four estrogen patches every other day plus 2mg estradiol tablet every day to increase my estrogen. He said it should be 300. Esteogen is counter indicated for pregnancy- causes birth defects in children- says right on the label to not take whole pregnant! Does anyone know what their estrogen level was on day of transfer and did doctor recommend taking estrogen?
Avatar f tn Hi kah, I'm doing well. I'm Cycle day 16 today and it's 2 DPO. I'm supposed to start estradiol patches and ganirelix at 10DPO and then my 2nd ivf cyle at my next period. Of course... since hubby and I did BD a lot around the time of ovulation, the eternal hope is that I won't get AF next month... hahaha...
Avatar n tn But, I am going with a loss of the crucial female hormone Estradiol. Short of me writing (or re-writing) a book on the subject of the loss of this important Ovarian Hormone (which can certainly give you leg cramps as a symtom, or result, of Menopause) please look up information regarding this and perhaps you will find some hope in your research.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn The doctor said that if next test (after 2 days) the result is still that low and not doubling, i will stop the meds. I am on estradiol 2 mg 4 times a day, progesterone injections once a day, Crinone progesterone suppositories twice a day and Estrodiol patches that release approx. 100 mg in 24hrs. I've been crying since I knew the result. Please help me with your advice and experience!!!!
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
Avatar n tn m a 38 yrs old women and got a hysterectomy about 8 yrs ago my problem is how to loose never had this problem until i got my hysterectomy on the estradiol patches which helps some with the hot flashes did everything possible that i could afford to loose weight,cardio,walking,wii-fit,down to cleansing and them eating healthy nothing seems to work at all.
Avatar n tn Granted, I know you certainly may choose to avoid the estradiol patches altogether, but I just wanted to say that I support being armed with as much information as possible so if/when more menopausal symptoms crop up, you will be aware that there are possibly more options available to you than you once thought. Great description, by the way, on how estrogen effects the bladder area. After researching this stuff for over 8 years now, I have to say that Dr.
