Avatar f tn I think up to 12 weeks. Keep in mind that they have to disclose possible side effects. All these fertility drugs have crazy side effects......why is it that this is the only one noticed.??
216278 tn?1308861082 I got off on that estradiol patch. cold turkey no effects Cause me& my husband trying to have a baby it's says that can birth effect I don't want that.
Avatar f tn I am on a patch too - I am not sure of your brand, but mine is bio-identical and just that it bypasses the liver means less side effects. The side effects are typically caused by too much or too little of the hormone. Have you consulted an endocrinologist to see how your hormones are as you may need a thyroid increase or other medication and you then may not need depression and anxiety medications.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had any side effects. I really dont want to go putting weight on. My skin 5 days after surgery is like I am 14 again, its awful and pretty embarrassing, I am hoping this is a temporary thing! Any advice would be welcome, I decided against implants asI dont fancy having to have them done so regularly for the next 16 years but I am now wondering if they are the way forwards?
Avatar f tn I am 46 years old I am having so much trouble with hrt estrogen estradiol . My side effects are as follows severe tinnitus, phelgm in my lungs and coughing, high blood pressure, weight gain, high cholesterol, positive ANA test boderline lupus numbers, high hscrp test, pains behind my eyes, breathing pain issues, low grade fever, forehead pain, stuffy nose like allergies...all of this has been since I started hrt which was right after my surgery.
Avatar f tn So I would work with your doc both on form and dose to use the least amount and the most most bio-identical you can to reduce risk and side effects.
Avatar f tn I'm 48, had hysterectomy 10 yrs ago but still have my ovaries. Started having sever hot-flashes so my doctor put me on the Vivelle Dot. It took care of the hot-flashes but caused me to gain 10 pounds in a 6 week period. My doc said the weight gain was from menopause. Well, I took the patch off 2 weeks ago and threw it away, and I have now lost 6 of those pounds and feel much better. I think it was causing depressiont too.
Avatar f tn so i personally recomend it I use the Vivelle patch its a small dime size patch I put on lower belly two times per week...I have no negative side effects at all. You may request gettting hormones checked you wont have any from ovaries..the pararthyroid adrenal and thyroid all produce levels that can be checked..
Avatar f tn since then i have had severe derpession and anxiety vaginal dryness,no intrest in sex recently(i think that could be cause by the antidepressant im on) my dr put me on the estradiol patch low dose..will it help me any?I have no energy and im sick of the depression and anxiety i have no reason to, be this way i have a perfectly good life...has anyone gone off estrogen for years adn then back on it with sucess..i just turned 50,was 36 when i had total hystrectomy..
Avatar f tn I have been on the estradiol patch for 5 weeks! I was on the .725 dose. I have gained about 8 pounds and I am freaking out! I have been extremely co scoops of my diet and etc. my doctor suggested we lower the dose to the .375 to see if it will help! How long will it be before I see the weight come off?
Avatar f tn The side effects of Incurin (estradiol) are similar to the effects of any other reproductive hormone therapy and include: hair loss, swollen vulva, swollen mammary glands, and vomiting. The most serious effect from high doses is that estrogen (the active ingredient in Incurin) may have a tumour-promoting effect in target organs with estrogen receptors, such as the mammary gland. The most dangerous effect of PPA (phenylpropanolamine) is hypertension.
Avatar n tn It was not until after my surgery (Not saying the surgery corrected it, in fact, it had the potential to make things worse) I got relief because by then I was on a steady stream of Estradiol (by way of the Vivelle patch.. a bioidentical hormone... estradiol is reputed by many to be the premier estrogen and personally I won't use anything else for estrogen replacement). I also use testosterone, which will also keep that area supple.
Avatar n tn My GYN put me on Progyluton for 3 months but I could only take it for one as its side effects were too severe for me. My GYN advised me to go see a fertility specialist when we are ready, not sure I am yet. My question is: given my low levels of estrogen, what are my chances of getting pregnant naturally? If they are low, what are the options available to me? Thanks for your advice.
Avatar f tn s important to notify your doc about it - depending on how high your fever is, they may ask you to remove the patch tmeporarily - for the same reason as avoiding other heat sources - too much medication can be released. When I was using the patch (I had to stop it due to negative side effects), one time I had a fever of 103.6 from strep throat and my doc had me remove the patch until my fever was below 100 (and use my BT meds during that time).
Avatar n tn Hello, my wife had a full hysterectomy approximately 10 years ago and everything was taken out, EVERYTHING. She had a few cysts and her gynecologist suggested a full hysterectomy due to the fact that the cysts could come back if she were to get a a half hysterectomy. Long story short, she's a strong woman who really keeps it together but she has recently expressed that she's been battling depression.
4128244 tn?1350073611 I've read somewhere that estradiol (I'm on the patch) can increase your T4. Has anyone else heard this? Also, that time of day and fasting can affect TSH. I'm going for TSH, FT4, and FT3 tomorrow. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I personally found generic Estrace (micronized estradiol tablets) to work better for me than the patch. And a bonus is that it is a $4 (for 30) / $10 (for 90) prescription whereas I think I was paying $70 for a 3 month supply of patches.
Avatar n tn He really is a great doctor, one of the best in his fields here in New York City, but there is only so much he can do, and his resolution that just removing my uterus will have no hormonal side effects puzzles me as I know the opposite to be true. So my options are limited it appears, live with the fibroid or take out my uterus. I would keep my ovaries and fight to keep my cervix as well because of the side effects that removing your cervix can cause.
216278 tn?1308861082 Hi! I am 2dpo and I started an Estradiol patch today to wear for the next week and a half. Of course, I am starting to second guess everything (typical start of my tww) Does anyone know if this could raise my estrogen TOO much, thus hurting my chances for pregnancy? I have posted a picture of the graph of my hormone levels when they did the full panel and I put the numbers in a journal to correspond with it!
Avatar n tn Hi, I had a total hysterectomy on April 20 (3 months ago). I had my uterus, ovaries, cervix and tubes removed due to fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometrosis (found during the operation). I also scheduled a urologist to come in after the hysterectomy and perform a bladder suspension. I'm 55 years old and prior to surgery I had not stopped bleeding on a regular basis, so the hysterectomy was my "menopause".
230948 tn?1235844329 I realized these were all side effects of this patch. The side effects of the patch so adversely effected my life I decided to take it off one night. I went through a detox like you'd never imagine. I had hallucinations, vomitting etc. I had no idea what I had done. I put the patch back on, and weened myself off of it over the next two weeks. I just couldn't live that way. I know how much it helps and would never tell anyone not to use. I may need it in the future.
1235159 tn?1323009319 0 I'm 40, turning 41 April 24th...... Yikes. I started femara for the first time today which is cd3 for me. I am taking 7.5 mg for five days. I'm interested in how much you are on and what cd you are taking it on? Fingers crossed for both of us!!
Avatar f tn Ive had 4 epidurals and just like anything there are potential side effects which is why they make you sign the form prior. But my first was 14 years ago and I've never had a single side effect.
